EPISODE NINE
“Your mom’s place? Why should I go to her place?”I asked in shock standing up to my feet.
He pushed his long hair back frustratingly, His eyes roamed around the living room as if he’s avoiding my gaze.
“I’m traveling. You shouldn’t be here alone. Go to her place for the meantime and maybe, continue living with her.”
Okay. He’s lying.
Stefano isn’t going anywhere, He’s not telling me the truth. His voice isn’t portraying the message. Neither his actions.
“We are married. Stefano. We should be doing what couples do, I… I know I’m unattractive and all that but you really don’t have to treat me this way.”
“Unattractive? That sounds like you just said what I’ve been trying to say since.”He mocked.
My eyes were laced with tears, again. Damn. I really don’t want to cry.
His words keep getting to me every time, it’s so unfair.
“You said marital duties? Like having sex? Jesus Christ. I must really be a joke to you. You think I would want to have anything to do with you? I’m not fucking attracted to you.”He yelled angrily at me.
“I’m sorry. I will go to her place tomorrow. You should tell you driver to pick me up. You don’t need to take me to her. I will explain it. You…”
“Don’t take anything with you. Even clothes. She will get them for you. You can’t keep wearing those rags around her.”He muttered the last word under his breath before walking upstairs.
“Stefano!”I called after him but he didn’t stop anymore.
My heart breaks so much. I don’t really have to go through these maltreatments because I married him.
This cold hearted man that doesn’t want to have anything to do with me.
STEFANO
My heart is betraying me these days and I fucking hate it.
Staying away from her will be the best option for me right now.
I don’t even want to have anything to do with her again.
She should stay with mom for the meantime.
Luca call came in the moment I came out of the bathroom.
“What now?”I asked tiredly.
“Chad is in town. And I’m sure his sister isn’t aware of this.”
“What’s that son of shit doing here?”
“I don’t fucking know. He’s asking about his stuff. I told him to give me till tomorrow.”
“I don’t owe him any fucking stuff. Why are you pulling games on him? Luca?”I shouts at him in desperation.
He sigh tiredly before talking again. “I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t know he’s still interested in you. Or the business.”
“The business isn’t his. It’s fucking mine now. I don’t mind killing him.”
“His sister won’t take it easy with you, I don’t want us to do this. I…”
“She’s my mom and she will have to listen to what I have to say!”
“Calm down. I will look for something to pin him down. He’s a menace.”
“Are you scared of him now?”
“Fuck you. I’m not scared.”He chuckled.
We stayed quiet for a while thinking of the best option for us to avoid Chad tomorrow.
The last thing I will want go do on earth is to shoot him. Even though, Mom doesn’t want to have anything to do with him again, she still cares about her adopted brother who turned against us years ago.
He leeched me off to the fucking cops who almost ruined my life if not for Luca and my sisters.
“I will come up with a plan tomorrow. But Stef, I can’t avoid shooting him. If it gets to a point, I won’t have no choice than to pull the trigger.”
“I don’t care. Let’s do this shit and get off with it.”
“What about Hazel? Did you ask about her day? Won’t that big haunted house be too big for her?”He asked worriedly.
This fucker won’t let me be. Shit.
“My house isn’t haunted you bastard!”
“Wh…”
“And it’s none of my business if she’s bored or not.”
“Fine. Whatever you think. Just make sure she’s safe with your mom.”He muttered the last words with difficulties.
I know he’s not in support of my decision but he has to support me.
“You’re in support of it?”I teased.
“Fuck you. You know I never supported you taking her to your mom but it could be the best way for her to get other suitors than spending her life with you rotten bastard”
“You should learn how to bridle your tongue. Luca”I warned getting pissed off.
“I will start taking classes for that the moment you start treating her well”He huffed. The call ended.
I scoffed before throwing the phone back on the bed.

The next Morning, I woke up very early to prepare breakfast for Stefano before leaving the house.
He’s doing everything possible to avoid me, I don’t blame him, I caused this on myself.
His driver came way earlier before he woke up, I packed the little important stuffs like note, some of my reading materials inside a small fancy bag I saw in the room.
I rushed down the stairs hurriedly, Surprisingly, Stefano was already there taking his coffee.
He had a satisfied look on his face as he scoop the toppings into his mouth.
“Good morning”I greeted softly.
He almost choked on the coffee and glared at me.

Guess who woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
“You’re leaving already?”He asked, I nodded holding the bag tightly.
“Take the card with you, Incase you want to buy anything”He muttered referring to the car I gave to him yesterday which I dropped on the dining table.
“Thank you.”I bowed slightly before taking it on the table.
“Be good. Have a nice day at work too.”
He sighed tiredly the moment I said those words.
“Your driver is outside. Just go”He waved me off.
He’s still giving me cold shoulders.
“Good morning ma’am”The young man dressed in black suit greeted respectfully.
He opened the car door for me and ushered me to enter.
I’m still new to this, I hate honorifics but he had to use it for me since I’m his boss ‘wife’. Funny.
“Thank you”I said politely before entering.
He hopped into the driver seat. He ignited the car to life and drove out of the compound slowly.
I took a deep breath of sadness or maybe relief but it’s definitely not a relief.
I don’t want to be away from Stefano but he literally treats me like an outcast.
Now, I will start living with his mother. She’s a nice woman. I still want to stay with Stefano only.
