She loved the children in her neighborhood. She even loved the homeless who visited the kitchen where she volunteered. He’d heard it in her tone, seen it in her eyes. God, she was killing him.
He had to stay objective, and that meant getting back to business. He finished dragging a comb through his damp hair and left the bathroom.
Bonnie hadn’t moved a single inch. And if he hadn’t already had a little taste of her, he’d believe her prissy pose, with her knees pressed tightly together, and her slim hands folded in her lap. Ha! What a facade. He dragged his eyes away from her wary gaze and began stuffing her thermos and empty dishes back into the basket.
“You ready to go?” he asked without staring at her.
“Ah… go where?”
He flicked an impatient glance her way. “Back to your place. We could talk about where exactly you want to go. And maybe tonight, we could go to the bar.”
“The bar?… I thought you said you didn’t want me to go back there”
“Yes I did.” He noticed her sigh of relief and frowned at her. “But this time you won’t be going alone. You will be with me.”
Bonnie pursed her lips, her shoulders going a little straighter. “Oh okay. Good for me then”
“You know, Bon, you don’t sound so happy about it. I thought you said you wanted to have some fun… Don’t you like the bar anymore? You seemed to be having a lot of fun watching that man dance yesterday.”
She looked totally flustered now, and it was all he could do not to laugh.
“Come on, let’s get going,” he said.
Holding her arm, a manner that felt as right as everything else he did with her, David hustled her down to the street and into his car.
————————–
About damn time…. David thought as he heard Bonnie yell, “Okay i’m ready!” from her bedroom. He had been sitting in her living room for thirty minutes, wondering just how long it took the woman to get dressed and he was almost certain now that it was going to take hours. Where the hell did she think they were going to? Some fancy ballroom party? He was sure she had attended a lot of those, but they were not his thing.
“It’s about damn time” he murmured to himself.
“Alright let’s go”
Bonnie’s voice came from the doorway behind him, and using his hand on the frame for leverage, David stood, relieved as hell. He turned, then stopped dead still. Bonnie was a vision of luscious womanhood in a red dress that made his throat dry. Her hair looked wild, like she had just gotten well and lustily laid, and her eyes were luminous with mischief and something else he couldn’t peg. But where he got stuck was her lips.
Red, like the dress…and full. He wanted to pull her to him, feel that body from shoulder to knee, and kiss her senseless.
“I’m sorry I took so much time to get ready” Bonnie said, walking towards him with a sinful sway of hips. “I normally dont take so long but for some reason i couldn’t figure out what i wanted to wear and how i wanted to look”
David nodded twice, but he wasn’t listening. He didn’t even care that she took so long anymore because in his opinion, it was worth it. His whole attention was on her. “You look …. stunning” he said, before he could stop the words from leaving his mouth.
She lowered her lashes as her cheeks pinked and David had to try not to laugh. “Thank you.” Shyly, she looked at him again, her gaze moving down his body. He looked simple, and really hot in his blue shirt and black pants, and she could see that he had taken some effort to get dressed and look good…. For her?
Her gaze roamed over him, both daring and amused and he suddenly had the feeling she was assessing him. Why had he never noticed that mischievous sparkle before? It did something to her irises that made the blood rush to his cock.
“You look stunning too” she said, her voice a smoky purr.
He laughed. “Stunning? I don’t think so”
Her head tilted to the side. “You are”
He waved away the compliment, and took hold of her hand. He kissed the delicate skin on the back and lingered, inhaling deeply her sweet honey scent. “We should go,” he said, reluctant to let go of her.
Her breasts rose and fell, the plump flesh straining against the low-cut gown. But then a flush spread deliciously across her collarbone.
Something hot and volatile stirred, and he knew that she felt it too, the electric chemistry that had hit him like a lightning bolt.
“I just need my bag.” she said, and she was glad when he let go of her hand because she really needed a few seconds to get herself together.
Her hand was lost to him, but in recompense, he got to watch as she walked to the kitchen to collect her purse. The curves were just as impressive from this side.
He tried to remember why he’d decided to keep his hands off Bonnie. The fact that he was just here as her bodyguard and not a date came to mind. He took one more look at Bonnie’s backside and banished the thought away for the night.
“Okay, I’m all set,” she said as she returned.
He crossed the room in three strides and captured her hand once more. “Good. Let’s go,” he said as he led her toward the front door.
—————–
Bonnie was surprised when David stopped in front of a different bar. She stared at him with confusion on her face and said, “Are you sure we are in the right place?”
David understood the reason for her question. “Yeah, I decided that it would be better if we went to another place”. His brow lifted, “I’m sorry, is that okay with you?”
“Yeah, it is. I was just wondering why, that’s all”
He grinned at her, “Well, this might come as a surprise to you Bonnie, but watching other men dance half naked isn’t really my thing.”
Bonnie lowered her eyes and blushed, “I wanted to know what it was like,” she said. “I thought it could be fun”
“And was it?”
Bonnie shrugged and smiled, “Well, it was…. until you showed up.” If he wanted to tease her, she could do the same to him.
David laughed, “Well, I’m sure you will have more fun here, come on.”
