Gabriele’s POV
Her response still resonated in my head long after she went. Every Skill Nadia was trying to pull off only felt irritating rather than enjoyable.
“Stop!” I growled and Nadia paused her mouth movement on my cock.
Basilio raised his head from the table and I could see the emotions swirling in them.
“Pussy!” I hissed at him.
He allowed himself to get so carried away with emotions that it was nerve-wracking.
I got up, slightly pushing Nadia away from me. “Make sure the guards are alert. Call my godfather and make sure he sets up his surveillance around the area. We need to be on top of our game!” I ordered as I walked out of the dining room.
I had instructed Arianna to get ready but her reply had burst open my bubble of escape. Now everything returned to me.
I had broken down right in front of her and now there was no way she would have forgotten about it.
“Where are you going?” Basilio called out but I didn’t bother to give him a reply.
I walked out of the house and directed my steps to the driver’s lodge.
Two were sitting outside the veranda and I directed my intentions to them.
“Boss!” They greeted me as soon as they saw me.
“Get me a car key now,” I growled.
I need alcohol and loud music in my system. I needed to feel numb or fuck Arianna.
I couldn’t possibly do the second option because I had given my word.
Fuck it!
I hissed under my breath as the driver brought the key to me.
“Where will you like me to drive you, sir?” He asked and I rolled my eyes at him.
Did I look like I needed a fucking driver?
I snatched the keys from him and pressed the key to unlock the right car.
I walked into the garage and followed the sound of the beeping car and the flashing of the light.
I got to the small red Lamborghini and I tapped the key again to unlock it.
The doors pulled apart on their own and I stepped in.
I put the key into the ignition and drove to the gates which were already opened. I pulled straight into the main roads and let my hands take me to the place I could find peace.
My heart was constricting and I found it hard to breathe. I opened the windows and allowed the fresh air to come in.
The root of all my problems was Gianni! I thought, hitting my fist on the wheel.
The loud horn of the car resonated around the area and I hissed, irritated by the disturbance like I wasn’t the one who had just initiated it.
If only I could see Gianni right now, I would be able to load off the entire gun in my pockets in his face and I would feel much better.
“Fuck it!” I cursed as I barely missed an incoming car by mere inches.
But my anger got a little lower as my eyes fell on the sign of the bar right ahead.
I drove straight there and packed at the only free spot I found in the VIP section. The valet rushed to me the moment I stepped down and I passed the car keys to him.
I found my way to the building and it was then I realized it was a sort of a lounge. One of the boys under my jurisdiction had recently opened it.
The bouncer at the gate didn’t even need to stop me because my face was on every billboard in the country.
It was either you knew me as a very successful businessman or you knew me as the king of the mafia world.
The noise inside was exactly what I needed. I could hardly hear my own thoughts as the DJ played a very popular song that made people scream as they ran to the dance floor.
“Good evening sir, the VIP section is that way,” A bouncer yelled above the noise as I walked further into the bar.
It was either a miracle I could hear him or the guy had a megaphone somewhere on his body.
“It’s fine,” I mouthed as I tapped his shoulder and went on to the bar and picked a stool.
The multiple dimmed lights bounced all over the place creating an ambiance that numbed my troubles.
“What can I get you, sir?” The bartender said as she came closer to me.
Again, her voice was miraculously louder than the music and I heard her perfectly.
What kind of trick were they playing?
“The strongest drink you have,” I mouthed once again and she smiled.
She turned to mix a couple of drinks and returned with a tray of shuts.
“You look like you could need a good number,” She said.
I didn’t look past her lips, so I didn’t know what she looked like –neither did I care.
I picked the first glass and jugged it down my throat. It was strong and I hissed as the taste burned my throat.
It was just the kind of stuff I needed.
I picked up the second glass and it disappeared almost as fast as the first.
I was on my fifth glass when I felt someone standing behind me.
I tapped my pockets and looked around for my gun before turning to see who it was as soon as I confirmed my gun was right there.
“What do you want?” I asked above the noise of the lounge.
“Gabriele?”
That voice was so familiar it jolted me to reality. The loud music reduced as I turned to face him.
My supposed father.
“What do you want, Marcello?” I hissed, narrowing my eyes at him.
My head was hazy and I couldn’t tell at the time if it was because of the alcohol in my system or the anger that brewed in my veins.
“Gabriele, I am sorry. Please, let me talk to you. We can sort this out,” He said and folded my hands into fists and punched hard at the table.
The empty shot glasses rattled under the vibration of my punch and the bartender froze at the corner.
“I can’t talk to people who abandon me when I need them the most!” I growled and jumped off the stool.
Staying here was only going to piss me off further. I had to return to my second option –Arianna.
It didn’t matter if I broke my words, my sanity was more important and I owned her!
“Gabriele!” I heard Marcello shout from behind me as I marched out of the lounge.
I already made it clear that he and I didn’t have any relationship but words seemed not to be enough.
I got out, completely ignoring the bouncers’ greetings. I walked straight to my car and the valet handed me my key.
As I pulled the car’s door open to get in, I felt his palm hold my shoulder and blinding rage consumed me as I pulled my gun out of my pocket and pointed it at his head.
My body was heated up to a degree above boiling point. If he was anything to me, he would have known this was the wrong time to mess with me.
“If you touch me again in your life! There will be no life left in you!” I growled.
He pulled away and I got into my car. I shut the door so loud, the ringing remained in my ears long after I left the lounge.
The alcohol helped to numb him out and the only goal in my head was Arianna. I was done being patient with her.
I drove so fast, I got to the mansion in record time. I barely packed the car into the garage before jumping out.
“Take out the keys and park it!” I ordered at the guards that stared at me as I walked past them.
It was a miracle I didn’t stagger. But I knew the amount of alcohol in my system was messing with my rational mind.
My confident feet went kissing the tiles as I made my way to Arianna’s room. I didn’t bother knocking when I got there, I just pushed the door open and luckily for me, it was open.
The lights were still on and her alluring sea-blue eyes were staring back at me from the vanity chair she sat on.
From the way her lips quivered, I knew she was angry. This is where the alcohol was necessary. I didn’t care about how she felt.
I was getting what I wanted and she couldn’t stop me.
“Gabriele, why did you barge in like that, what do you want?”
I started coming towards her with my intentions flashing in my eyes.
She got up from the chair and I saw an alarming flash in her eyes as she looked at the door briefly.
Smart woman. She wanted to escape.
“Not tonight Arianna…” I sang as I reached where she stood.
Her hair was still damp from the bath she had taken. Her lips were red and appealing. How have I been able to ignore such beauty for so long?
“What do you mean?” She whispered throwing her eyes to the door again.
My hands suddenly sneaked around her waist and I pulled her closer.
“Gabriele, what are–what are you doing?” She stuttered.
“What a man does to a woman…” I whispered before my lips crashed against hers.
