“Father it is good that you have made your choice. Now don’t blame me for what I am about to do next.” Kelly said. He then moved at the speed of lighting and with a swoosh, Ashton was sent flying a few meters away.
Maya was startled and immediately run towards Ashton. “What are you doing? Do you want to kill him too?” Maya turned towards Kelly and asked. Her tears were already on the verge of falling.
“You have already taken everything from him, what are you not satisfied with?” Maya inquired. She knew that Ashton was still weak because he had just woken up not long ago. How could he be able to fight Kelly head-on?
“What does a little bitch like you know?” Kelly spoke.
“Insult her again and…….” Ashton tried to speak up but just like Leonard, he felt that he had at least a few broken ribs.
“And what? You can’t even defend yourself now, what are you going to do?” Kelly asked.
“In fact, I would like to see how the woman that my brother sacrificed so much for just to be with tastes like. I am sure that you won’t have any objections, right?” Kelly said. He was already moving closer to Maya and his eyes could not hide the obvious lascivious look in them.
Maya moved away with disgust.
“What are you running for? Don’t forget that I am now your alpha. You know what happens when you don’t listen to you your alpha’s orders, right?”
“You are not my alpha and you will never be! Why don’t you look at yourself in the mirror first? Do you think that just because you managed to trick the old man into naming you the alpha everyone should listen to you? You are nothing but a traitor!” Maya said. She could not stand the taunting look on Kelly’s face.
What gave him the right to make him think that she, Maya, can actually acknowledge him as her alpha? He must be full of himself to have thought of something so damned like that.
“Bitch! Just wait and see. After I deal with my brother, I will deal with you. By then I will see if you will have anything to say.” Kelly said.
He was in a rush. Although he had told Kevin to keep the people in the sacred hall for some time, he knew that they won’t be kept for long. He also knew that others were not satisfied with him, so the sooner he gained their trust, the better.
Kelly went to Ashton who was still lying down and held him by the collar. “Brother I have always admired you since we were young. You were my hero, my undefeatable brother, but who would have thought that one day you will be at my mercy?” Kelly said.
“Just do anything you want to do to me but please, don’t touch her. You have already taken everything from me, what else do you want?” Ashton asked.
“I haven’t taken everything from you yet!” Kelly said as he looked at Maya wantonly. He had to admit that this girl had grown into a beautiful woman just in a few months. She was not the same empty duckling that Ashton had saved. She had the allure of a woman that was hard to resist.
“I told you, don’t you dare touch her. You can take everything you want from me, but she can’t be toyed with.”
“What if you are already dead? What will you do even if I toy with her?”
“Then we will die together,” Ashton said. Having turned into his wolf form, he immediately pounced on Kelly.
Kelly was caught off guard and immediately fell to the ground. But he immediately shifted and attacked Ashton at once.
Maya and Leonard looked on, hoping that Ashton would be fine. With the strength that Kelly had displayed when dealing with Gael and Leonard, they knew that the weak Ashton would be no match for him.
And sure enough, after a few exchanges, Ashton was being pushed behind. Kelly was aggressive and he did not give Ashton time to attack him.
But Ashton was not giving up easily. He was a born alpha. He had been through too much and he did not feel like he could be defeated by the single Kelly.
Although he was shocked at how Kelly had become stronger, there was no way he was going to admit defeat especially when Maya was cheering him on. Just thinking about how the woman he loved was going to praise him with her brilliant smile made Ashton become energized. He immediately pushed his wolf to his maximum limit.
After Ashton regained his strength, Kelly was starting to find it hard to defend himself. He could only go into offensive mode hoping that he will buy himself enough time.
Seeing that Ashton was slowly regaining his strength, Maya cheered on secretly. She knew that Ashton was not a weakling and there was no he would fall at the mere poison of the wolfbane.
After five minutes, Kelly was on the verge of falling. Just as Ashton was about to give his final blow, someone attacked him from behind.
Maya, Leonard, and even Ashton himself, none of them saw that coming.
Ashton had his mind filled only with the urge of defeating Kelly, so he had not paid much attention to his surrounding. Or perhaps he knew that no one dared to attack him. Maya and the injured Leonard on the other hand had their minds focused on the fight that, they had failed to notice that someone had managed to send a sneaky attack on Ashton.
When they came back to their senses, both Ashton and Kelly were lying on the ground. There were in their human form and their bodies were filled with wounds. It was so bloody that Maya covered her nose as she ran toward Ashton.
Seeing how injured Ashton was, she regretted not stopping him earlier. She knew that he was still weak but she had allowed him to fight Kelly. She was filled with self-blame as she covered him with her coat.
“How dare you attack the alpha?” The person who had attacked Ashton a moment ago shifted back to his human form and shouted at Ashton.
When Leonard saw who he was, he was not surprised.
“You have gone against our values and attacked our alpha, the crime that you have committed requires you to face execution at the first light, right in front of the whole pack,” Kevin shouted at the top of his lungs. Although he was talking, he seemed to be sending out signals.
The wounds on Kelly had already healed and his subordinates had already brought him clothes. Ashton was still healing because his super healing abilities came from his wolf who was still under the effect of the wolfbane.
His wolf was also still exhausted because Ashton had forced it out to fight with Kelly when he was still so weak.
Kevin went towards Kelly and stood behind him. After Kevin nodded at him, he looked into the distance before moving closer to Ashton.
“Brother I never meant to take anything from you. You were the one who abandoned us and left the pack. Grandfather only wanted what was good for the pack which is why he appointed me as the alpha. I never wanted any of this to happen.” Kelly said. He was on the verge of sobbing as he wiped the snot on his nose.
“But why…… why…… why did…you have to….. why did you have to kill grandfather and even attack me?” Kelly sobbed.
“You know how grandfather had been good to you. You know that among all of us, it was only you that grandfather spoiled the most, why would you kill an innocent soul just because he couldn’t let you continue being the alpha?”
“Brother, you have killed the patriarch of the pack, I don’t know what to do about it and I don’t know how the pack will react upon hearing the news.”
“I understand that you wanted to kill me, after all, if I were you, I could not stand the humiliation, but grandfather was innocent, what have you gotten from killing him? Answer me, brother, what have you gotten from killing your only kin?” Kelly sobbed. He even dramatically kneeled at Gael’s body and hugged him.
Maya widened her eyes in shock. She could not believe what she was seeing and hearing! Who was Kelly trying to kid? Who was the one that had slashed the old man’s throat with his fangs? How come it has now become Ashton’s doing?
