In the Simmons Group.
Felton sat in front of his wide desk, his brow furrowed and his face sullen.
He only traveled for a few days and came back to find that the company was going out of business.
The company’s financial chain broke and the partner unilaterally broke the contract.
What’s worse, the company had become an empty shell.
The most important thing was that no one informed him when the company had such a big problem.
At this time.
The office door was pushed open, revealing Queenie’s figure.
She started to cry as soon as she saw Felton, “Felton, Dad is in hospital!”
Felton jolted up.
“What?”
Queenie saw this and hurriedly reassured him, “It’s not that serious, he just fainted.”
Felton frowned tightly, “What happened in my absence these days?”
Queenie bit her lips, “You may not believe it, but it’s all my sister’s fault that the company become like this.”
“Vanessa?”
Felton shook his head directly, “That’s not possible.”
“It’s true.”
Queenie watched Felton with tears in her eyes, “Do you not even believe in me anymore? If you don’t believe me, you can go ask Vanessa.”
Felton’s brow furrowed, still didn’t believe it.
“Felton, Dad is in the hospital, you’re the only one the company can count on…”
Queenie said while crying, “If you can’t hold on, how will my mother and I have money to go shopping in the future…”
She then burst into tears.
Felton felt anxious, waved his hand towards Queenie, and said in a bit cold voice.
“I see, leave me alone.”
Queenie nodded and went out.
Felton originally wanted to finish his official business and then go to Vanessa. After flipping through a few pages of documents, he couldn’t read a single word, and then simply went to the Phantom Court.
Soon, Felton arrived at the Phantom Court.
Vanessa was the same as before and had no special expression on her face when she saw him. She then faintly said, “Felton.”
Felton was full of questions but didn’t ask them out at the moment he saw Vanessa.
Because, he really did not believe that Vanessa, who usually did not even talk much, would do that kind of thing.
His voice was gentle, with a hint of imperceptible tenderness.
“Vanessa, have you felt aggrieved lately?”
Vanessa originally thought Felton was here to question her but did not expect him to say these words. She hesitated for a moment and shook her head.
“No.”
Felton didn’t ignore the momentary pause on Vanessa’s face. He smiled and took out a shiny necklace from his suit pocket.
“This is a gift that I brought for you.”
Vanessa stared at the necklace.
She had to say that necklace was beautiful, with a star made of diamonds in the center and many small diamonds around it, sparkling.
“Here, let me put it on you.”
Felton walked behind her, lifted her hair, put it on, and complimented, “Beautiful.”
Vanessa looked down at the necklace around her neck.
It looked, not bad.
Felton pretended to ask casually, “Did something happen at home while I was away?”
‘sebastian broke off the engagement between me and the Anderson family.”
Vanessa said calmly.
“What?”
Felton’s brow jumped fiercely.
Why would his father do this for no reason?
Did something else happen in between that he didn’t know about?
Vanessa looked at his puzzled face, thought about it and said, “He thought the man beside me is another money bag, and wanted to trade me for profit. That’s why he did it.”
Felton’s face changed when he heard that.
“Did Dad really do that?”
“Yes.”
Felton finally understood why the company’s capital chain was broken, it turned out that it was all because of his father!
