Old Mr. Anderson asked in a deep voice, “What do you mean?”
Sybil glanced at Aaron and Vanessa, then replied, “If it weren’t for my son, Hancock, we would still be in the dark!”
Aaron’s expression was blank.
So was Vanessa’s.
“What is happening?” Old Mr. Anderson asked, looking at Aaron, then at Vanessa.
Neither one spoke.
Hancock couldn’t wait to chip in, “Grandpa, if they won’t say it, I’ll say it for them!”
“Just today, I was wandering in the hospital and saw big brothers talking with Vanessa. I originally did not mean to eavesdrop, but I overheard them say that big brother’s illness was actually all faked! He is not sick at all!”
“What a bunch of nonsense!” Old Mr. Anderson said angrily, “How many doctors we’ve found have failed to cure him, and you say he’s faking it? Do you have proof?”
Hancock was speechless for a moment.
He really didn’t have proof.
He pointed at Aaron, “Aaron, don’t pretend anymore. I heard what you said to Vanessa, don’t you deny it.”
The corners of Aaron’s mouth raised, but he wasn’t smiling.
“You’re kidding, right? I’ve always been in poor health, haven’t you always known that?”
“Vanessa and I did have a few words at the hospital, but it was in an out-of-the-way place, and I didn’t expect you to wander over there.”
Hancock, “Bullshit! I see you were fine at that time, you were not sick!”
“Enough!”
Old Mr. Anderson interrupted Hancock, “You have repeatedly slandered your big brother, what exactly do you want? Don’t you wish your big brother well?”
Hancock was speechless, “Grandpa, I didn’t mean it like that…”
Old Mr. Anderson grunted coldly.
Sybil jumped in, “Dad, that’s ridiculous, of course Hancock is worried about Aaron’s body. It’s just that his body has been nothing wrong, but he has been pretending to be sick. I’m afraid he is up to something.”
Her words were blunt.
Everyone in the room understood what she meant.
Jacqueline said unpleasantly, “What do you mean by this? Aaron is plotting against us?”
Sybil stated, “I haven’t said anything yet, so why did you say it.”
“Shut up, all of you.”
Old Mr. Anderson interrupted everyone and his face was gloomy.
He’s not dead yet!
And these people dare to talk about the family fortune after his death?
He looked at Aaron, “Do you have anything to explain?”
Aaron, “Grandpa, I have nothing to explain. I’ve never been in good health, and you know that all along.”
Old Mr. Anderson’s anger subsided a bit. He was just about to speak, Hancock jumped in, “Grandpa, don’t believe him, he’s lying to you!”
Aaron glanced at Hancock.
“It seems that you have a lot of problems with me.”
Hancock grunted and laughed, “I just don’t want the Anderson family’s fortune to be ruined by you.”
“Grandpa,” Aaron said, “Vanessa happens to know some medical skills, why not let her take my pulse and see how my body is now.”
Hancock hurriedly said, “Grandpa, don’t listen to him, they have colluded.”
“Enough.”
Old Mr. Anderson impatiently interrupted Hancock’s words, and fell his gaze on Vanessa, “Vanessa, go check on Aaron.”
“Okay.”
Against everyone’s gaze, Vanessa checked Aaron’s body.
She knew that Aaron was not sick.
Her finger fell on the pulse, and just as she was about to tell a lie when her eyes suddenly changed.
Vanessa looked up at Aaron.
And he watched her with a smile.
“What’s wrong, you’re shy to take my pulse?”
