Aaron looked at self-contained Vanessa and suddenly had an urge to hold her in his arms. In fact, he did so.
Vanessa was caught off guard by the hug and struggled up immediately, but then heard the man’s cello-like voice.
“Don’t move, let me hold you for a while.”
Vanessa still wanted to struggle.
“I’m already yours, aren’t I? Please.”
Vanessa thought about it, though he had a point, and stopped struggling.
“Lamb, about that… It’s complicated. But if you want to know, I’ll tell you.” Aaron’s voice slowly sounded, “I was set up when I was a child, and almost lost both legs that time. That also left after-effects, and it took a long time to cure.”
Vanessa’s brow furrowed deeply.
“Who did that to you? I’m going to kick his ass.”
“Lamb,” Aaron said helplessly, ‘many things can not be solved by force alone, you need to use your brain.”
Vanessa was not happy to hear that. Did he mean she had no brain?
She’s very smart, okay?
She wanted to push him away but felt sorry for his past, and finally did not do so.
“Over the years, I have also accumulated certain resources. I own a company, which is not strong enough,” Aaron lowered his head and stared at the fluffy head and beautiful eyes, couldn’t help but laugh, “but enough to protect you.”
Vanessa blinked at that.
Aaron touched her head, “I didn’t mean to lie to you. There are many things that I will tell you slowly later, okay?”
Vanessa suddenly felt pity for Aaron.
The master had taught her from a young age to hide her strength so that she could better integrate into her environment and avoid being attacked by miscreants.
It turns out that this man was just like her, being dormant for several years. He was just a little wretch, who was just like her.
She sympathized with him because of a similar experience.
Vanessa patted Aaron’s shoulder, “I’m not mad at you.”
After all, he was also looking out for her safety.
Vanessa’s anger disappeared.
“I knew my Lamb is the best,” Aaron still held Vanessa’s waist and seized the chance to get closer to her.
“But if you still hold me like this, I don’t mind sending you to the hospital to lie down for a few days.”
Aaron still did not let go of the hand.
“I’m really getting angry.”
Vanessa saw that he still did not let go and began to get angry.
Why was this guy so annoying?
She can’t beat him.
She can’t scold him either.
Seeing Vanessa on the verge of rage, Aaron in time to let go of the hand, “Don’t be.”
Vanessa squinted at him with discontent, “Don’t lie to me again.”
“Okay,” Aaron nodded, “I promise.”
“And don’t hug me again.”
Aaron’s eyebrows raised, “Can’t promise that.”
Vanessa’s small face sank and pouted in anger, indicating that she was unhappy.
“Alright.”
Only then Vanessa’s expression loosen up, “You have a company?”
“Yes.”
“Let’s work together.”
Vanessa wanted to help Aaron, “I have a project and I just developed a preliminary plan for it. You can be part of this after I get it all settled, win-win situation.”
Aaron was intrigued, “What project?”
Vanessa, “There is a small mountain island in the south of the city that has not been developed yet and I am ready to invest in it.”
Aaron became serious but jokingly said, “Lamb, If you really invest in that project, I’m afraid you’ll get nothing.”
Vanessa stared at Aaron.
Aaron could see in her eyes that she was looking at him like he was an idiot and felt a little sad.
