Chapter 95: I and Mrs. Flores Are Partners

The manager cast a stern glance at the sales staff who sat in the lounge, refusing to attend to the customers. How dare they turn away customers? Didn’t they care about their performance scores?
Did they have anything other than nonsense in their heads?
Under the manager’s piercing gaze, the sales staff all lowered their heads, pretending not to notice.
“Perhaps they were occupied with other customers and didn’t have enough time to provide you with thorough and satisfactory service. It’s entirely my fault. As their supervisor, I haven’t trained my subordinates well enough. Please accept my sincere apologies. I will rectify this situation, I promise,” the manager apologized with a smile.
Terry wanted to say something, but Dolores stopped him, thinking that the manager had been quite kind to them, and they shouldn’t push the point further.
“Ahem.” Terry also realized that he had spoken a bit too much in his excitement.
“Let me call them and inquire about when they can bring back the demonstration car. This model has been selling well,” the manager said, taking out his phone to make a call.
However, it seemed that someone on the other end of the line said something that made the manager angry.
“Why did you take it to another country? Don’t you know that demonstration cars shouldn’t be driven too far away? Will you cover the fuel costs?”
The demonstration car had been driven to the outskirts, and it would take at least an hour to drive it back to the store.
Abbott had instructed him to keep Dolores occupied, and he had done his best. But now that the demonstration car was not at the store, what should he do?
“How about this? Next time, I will come here for a test drive,” Dolores suggested, standing up. It was already four o’clock, and Jessica and the children would soon be returning home. They must be tired after a long day of fun, and she needed to go back and prepare dinner. She couldn’t waste any more time at the store.
The manager broke out in a sweat on his forehead, contemplating what to do now. He glanced at the office and saw Abbott sitting cross-legged on a chair, observing them through the window.
The manager felt helpless. The sales staff hadn’t provided satisfactory service to Dolores from the beginning, and now the demonstration car was unavailable for a test drive. What could he say now?
He handed Dolores his business card and said, “Please contact me when you come next time. I’ll personally assist you.”
Dolores accepted the card and replied, “Okay.”
Terry and Dolores then walked towards the parking lot. Terry opened the car door for Dolores and commented, “I didn’t expect the manager of this store to be so ‘friendly.'”
He was much kinder compared to the sales staff.
Dolores remained expressionless, thinking that the manager was overly hospitable.
At that moment, a car parked near their vehicle caught Dolores’ attention. She casually glanced at the man who got out of the car.
He stood against the wind, his long legs adorned with black trousers, and he wore a loosely fitted shirt. His presence in this place seemed like he had stolen a moment of leisure from his busy life.
The man coldly stared at Dolores.
Dolores was taken aback. Why was he here?
He didn’t need a car.
He had several limited edition cars in his villa’s garage, yet he rarely drove them. Maybe all men in the world were obsessed with cars, even if they didn’t drive them, they still had an urge to buy them.
Matthew’s gaze fixated on Dolores, his bloodshot eyes filled with turbulent emotions.
For no apparent reason, Dolores felt a shiver run down her spine. She had never seen this side of Matthew, appearing calm on the surface but harboring a ferociousness within.
“H-How… How did you end up here?” Dolores stammered.
“Get out of the car,” he ordered.
Dolores stood her ground. “No need. Cut to the chase.”
Clearly, he was furious, and she didn’t want to get too close to him.
Matthew narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure?”

Threats! It was an unmistakable threat!
Dolores stared at him.
Had she offended him?
Why did he act as if she owed him money the moment he saw her?
Terry noticed Dolores’ reluctance towards Matthew’s approach and stepped forward, asking, “Do you need my help?”
Matthew quickly advanced, pushed Terry aside, and struck him in the face. How dare he get so close to Dolores in front of him?
Caught off guard, Terry staggered backward from the impact. Blood filled his mouth. He wiped the corner of his mouth and noticed blood on the back of his hand.
Looking up at the man who had hit him, Terry felt bewildered. He wracked his memory and realized that he had never interacted with this man before. Yet, he seemed oddly familiar, as if Terry had seen him somewhere in the past. Suddenly, it clicked in Terry’s mind.
This man was a regular subject of financial news and was known as the youngest wealthy individual.
But had Terry offended him?
Could wealthy people bully others with impunity?
Dolores hadn’t expected Matthew to resort to violence so suddenly. She quickly got out of the car to inspect Terry’s injuries. The skin at the corner of Terry’s mouth was broken, and blood was flowing.
“Are you alright?” Dolores asked with concern.
Terry shook his head.
Dolores turned around and glared at Matthew. “Are you out of your mind? Why did you attack him for no reason?”
“We haven’t finalized our divorce, and you’re still my wife. Am I blind that I couldn’t see you embracing another man?”
“What are you talking about?” Dolores furrowed her brows, utterly confused.
Had she embraced another man?
“Explain yourself clearly.” Dolores’ expression turned cold. Besides, couldn’t she be with another man?
He was being outrageously overbearing!
Abbott, who had been hiding nearby, took out his phone and showed Dolores the photo he had taken moments ago. “My car was being serviced here, and when I came to pick it up, I happened to see you and…”
Abbott pointed towards Terry and continued, “So I took the photo.”
Dolores gazed at the photo with a somber expression on her face. She had been talking to Terry when the picture was taken, but the angle at which Abbott captured the moment made it appear as if Terry was kissing her cheek.
She scoffed, “Impressive angle you got there.”
Abbott gasped. Impressive angle? That’s exactly what he had captured!
The commotion drew the attention of some bystanders. Considering Matthew’s reputation, Abbott suggested leaving the parking lot to avoid any potential scandal. “This isn’t the right place to discuss this matter.”
Dolores also didn’t want to engage in a quarrel with them in front of so many onlookers.
“I know a suitable place,” suggested Abbott.
Just as Dolores was about to step into Terry’s car, Matthew grabbed her wrist and forcefully pulled her into his own car.
Dolores wanted to resist, but Matthew warned her with a stern gaze, “Behave yourself, alright? Do you want to cause a scene here?”
Dolores’s face contorted with anger. If it weren’t for the presence of outsiders, she would have given him a piece of her mind.
Who was causing a scene here?
He had attacked Terry for no reason. Wasn’t it shameless of him to accuse her of making a fuss?
Suppressing her anger, Dolores sat obediently.
The location chosen by Abbott was one of his houses. Though he didn’t live there, the house was regularly cleaned by the staff, making it neat and tidy. More importantly, it provided a peaceful environment, ideal for a discussion.
They entered the house, and Abbott gestured for Terry to take a seat on the sofa. He said, “Speak up. What’s the matter?”
Matthew held Dolores’s hand tightly and leaned against a low cabinet. He lowered his head and examined her hand, caressing it as if it were something precious.
Dolores wanted to pull her hand away, but the moment she made a move, Matthew tightened his grip and warned, “Don’t move.”
Terry blinked, unsure of what to say next. He glanced at Dolores, hoping for some guidance.
“Tell them about our relationship,” Dolores instructed, unable to free herself from Matthew’s grasp. She chose not to look at Matthew and turned her face towards the window.
Terry responded honestly, “Ms. Flores and I are business partners.”
Abbott found it intriguing and asked, “What’s your collaboration about?”
