The neighbor had always believed Alice to be placid-natured and easy to intimidate, but she had never imagined her manner of speech to be so powerful. The neighbor looked like a deflated balloon, very frustrated and discouraged.
Alice didn’t want to go through with it, and turned around to go into her house, leaving her neighbor frozen there.
A while later, the neighbor desisted from making any more fuss, and went downstairs to dump the garbage. As she passed the corner of the staircase, she surprised Kennedy leaning against the wall. Her eyes instantly lit up and she greeted him warmly as if Kennedy were her own boyfriend.
However, Kennedy paid her no heed, not even wanting to lift his head to look at her. The woman, feeling humiliated, was about to leave when she was stopped by Kennedy’s reply: Do you know me?
The neighbor immediately turned and looked at her with a very tender smile. As she noticed Kennedy’s face, she regretted so much that she didn’t get sexier on her way out of the house.
She thought, “He’s gorgeous! Oh… I almost swooned at his beauty. Why did I pick an ugly, poor guy as my boyfriend? If I had Alice’s luck to find this man before Alice, this would be my boyfriend. Maybe, it’s not too late….
She was ready to lure Kennedy with all her strategies. First, she threw him a loving glance but with a touch of coyness to get his attention.
However, Kennedy answered her with very fierce looks. The woman almost fell down in fear. She heard Kennedy saying, -If you ever bother Alice again, I assure you that you will not be able to survive here, nor in Z-City. Kennedy’s threats made the woman’s face pale with fear, not daring to say a word.
-Get out!” Kennedy ordered her. The next second, the woman broke into a run, and out of carelessness and fright, stumbled and fell to the ground. She let out a cry of pain, and then got up to continue her escape.
Alice was in her room, when she vaguely heard a scream. The voice sounded to her the same as her neighbor’s. She wasn’t quite sure about that because she hadn’t heard anything else to check who it was from. Even if it could be from the neighbor, she wouldn’t do anything, because she didn’t want to get into any more trouble.
Alice opened the locked drawer and took out of it a marked photo of Jack. Then, he looked at her and murmured, -My love, wait for me with more patience. I’m sure I’ll bring your daddy to see you.
Alice stroked Jack’s picture for a while, then tucked it into the big bag she had prepared. She thought, “Perfect! With this bag no Kennedy won’t find out either way.”
After all, as Alice was about to get up, she felt a sharp pain in her belly. This made her very worried for the baby’s sake. I decided to sit down to hope that this pain would not continue. Sitting there, gently caressing her belly, I whispered to her belly, -Chiquitito, don’t be naughty, please. Today is New Year’s Eve, you must behave yourself. As Kennedy approached the bedroom door, he was completely shocked to see his beloved wife sitting there, stroking her belly to soothe her baby.

Kennedy, sitting there very quietly, did not answer her. As Alice slowly approached, she noticed something very strange about him, so she decided to keep a proper distance from Kennedy.

Alice stammered but offered no good explanation. She was still there instead of obeying him.
Kennedy looked at her and asked, “Are you very afraid of me,” then looked down at Alice’s belly and added, “Are you afraid I’m going to hurt your baby?
This question made Alice blanch. She looked at Kennedy stunned, as she affirmed that she had not been mistaken that Kennedy was the one at the door. Still, she didn’t believe that he had guessed her pregnancy based on her talk with her baby alone.
Alice thought, “It’s quite possible that he has already learned the news of my pregnancy during the hospital stay. That’s why, he always gives me the feeling that he is not in a good mood, besides being distracted.”
Alice needed to check her assumptions, so she tried to infuse herself with some courage and asked him, -Did you already know at the hospital?
