Chapter 857: I’m Not Coming Home Tonight

Book:Married To The Most Powerful Man Published:2024-5-1

Leaning against the bathroom door, Alice took a deep breath to calm her pounding heart, then noticed how reddened her face and neck looked in the mirror, from which she also saw some pinkish marks Kennedy had left on her neck.
They were nothing visible without close observation, but approaching the mirror, they turned dark.
“Good thing I’m in winter, I’ll be able to cover them with my jacket, if it were summer, how will I hide these marks?” thought Alice.
But suddenly Alice realized that she rushed in and forgot to get her pajamas ready to change.
The clothes removed were already wet, so she couldn’t put them back on, nor did she want to ask Kennedy to bring her clothes, so she wrapped a towel from the bathroom around herself and poked her head out the door.
At this point, there was no one left in the room.
Alice sighed deeply and walked out of the bathroom.
She opened the suitcase and found her pajamas, put them on quickly and went out to look for Kennedy.
From a distance, she saw him on the balcony calling on the phone.
This apartment was more spacious than the last one, so she couldn’t hear what Kennedy said until he approached her.
-Dylan, I’m not coming home tonight, please tell my grandfather,” said Kennedy with his usual calmness.
-There are important things to deal with. That’s right,” Kennedy added.
Hearing his words, Alice stopped there, stunned, thinking, “Isn’t he coming home? Is he going to sleep here tonight?”
Suddenly Kennedy turned her back and surprised her by putting on cool, thin pajamas, her feet on top of the cold floor.
Kennedy approached her with concern and said in a visibly unpleasant tone, -Are you not cold?
Then he put his arms around her and tucked her into bed.
The room was cold and frosty, and Kennedy was cold and frosty from having been outdoors for so long.
When he had her in his arms, the warmth of his body transmitted steadily up to her neck.
He laid her on the bed and turned on the heat so she wouldn’t catch a chill.
As Alice shrank back in bed, and asked, -Has that been your grandfather’s call?
-No,” said Kennedy, as he took off his jacket, and hung it on the hanger, then undid the knot of his tie.
Alice looked at him with startled eyes thinking of his words, “I’m not coming home tonight.”
“So, he’s going to sleep here tonight?” thought Alice, “A man and a woman, alone, together, I assure you he wants to possess me.”
Alice stroked her belly, thinking of her pregnant state, “If we make love, it’s going to affect my child. And Kennedy hasn’t regained his memory, I can’t tell him.”
“How should I refuse him?” thought Alice, nervously.
At last she said, -It’s too late, I think you’d better get back, otherwise….
No sooner had she finished her words than Kennedy came up to her with his eyes fixed on hers.
Alice backed up to the wall, while Kennedy yielded her with two arms.
At once Alice closed her eyes thinking she was going to kiss him, but Kennedy said in a calm tone, -Are you nervous?
Alice opened her eyes and looked up into his full smiling ones, then explained, -No…..
Kennedy stuck her nose in hers smiling, -Don’t be so hasty, I’ll be right back, -then she went to the bathroom.
The noises of water in the bathroom entered Alice’s ear further aggravating her nerves.
“It’s already an irreversible fact,” thought Alice muttering, “Then I have no choice but to sleep right now, if necessary, I’ll fake it.”
Said and done, Alice turned off the light and crawled back into bed with the blanket covered up to her head, as if she was asleep.
According to her usual schedule, once her eyes were closed, she fell completely asleep. However, nothing soothed her and her heart was beating very fast.
In fact, this was the first time the two of them had gone to sleep together in the same bed since Kennedy lost his memory. And Alice was so nervous that she lost all dreams.
Even under the darkness, Alice couldn’t close her eyes, tired of the full messes in her mind.
-Sleep with me, please! -Alice murmured.
However, the tighter she closed her eyes, the more lucid she became.
As Alice was in anguish, the bathroom door opened, and Alice turned her body toward the wall.
Stepping into the darkness, Kennedy was startled at first, then understood Alice’s intent.
“Clever!” thought Kennedy, smiling silently.
Kennedy slowly dried her hair with a towel and glanced at the bed from time to time.
Then, she left the room, closing the door.
At this moment, Alice peeked her head out from under the blanket.
With the heat and a lot of time staying under the blanket, she almost suffocated.
“Where did he go, something in such a hurry?” thought Alice, sighing deeply, “Whatever happens, I can’t risk getting up to locate him. If he catches me, horrible.”
Then Alice stretched her legs out on the bed, bored.
Then she heard footsteps approaching the room, Alice crawled back into the blanket and closed her eyes.
The door closed, the noises became particularly loud in the dark, silent atmosphere.
Alice stopped her breathing under the darkness.
