Zoe left Carlos’s house in high spirits. She left just as Kennedy returned. She was so excited that she greeted him right away.
-Kennedy, you’re back. You’re back very late for work. Are you tired today?
Kennedy glanced at her and said yes softly. Then he walked past her without another glance.
Zoe felt a strong breeze, and the hand she wanted to raise stopped awkwardly in mid-air. She clenched her fist in indignation. Very angry, you could even hear the gnashing of teeth.
A while, she let go of the hand again and smiled to reassure herself.
“It’s all right. I like his aloofness. This means he is very picky. As long as I’m engaged to him and choose an auspicious day for us to get married, I’m sure he would fall in love with me. I was not an ordinary girl. I had many tricks to perform.”
As she thought about this, Zoe felt better and left.
As usual, Kennedy waved to Jorge. As she got ready to go upstairs, to her surprise, Jorge told her to stop.
-Are you working overtime lately?
Kennedy bit his lips in thought for a moment, and shook his head, “No, I can handle the company just fine. I don’t need to work overtime.
Hearing his words, Jorge frowned, -You don’t work overtime? So where have you been the last few days? Why haven’t you been back for dinner if you haven’t been working overtime at the company?
-I have other things recently – as for details, naturally, Kennedy wouldn’t tell him easily.
Unconsciously, Jorge wanted to ask more about the other things. But when he thought about what he had told her last night, it seemed inappropriate to ask. So he asked her, “Are you available tomorrow? I have an appointment with Orlando and Zoe at 7 pm. Come with me.
Kennedy frowned at that, and his eyes showed his displeasure.
-Didn’t I tell you she doesn’t like me? Grandfather, are you still trying to arrange her and my marriage?
-Never mind, you can start liking her now,” Jorge replied. Zoe is a pretty girl and from a good family. Besides, she likes you. If you pay a little attention to her, you’ll discover her qualities.
Kennedy didn’t know what he could say.
For some reason, he had a very uncomfortable feeling when he saw Zoe, especially her looks and the behaviors she was trying to approach him.
All of these made him resist her. So Kennedy didn’t want to look at her more than once.
-Kennedy, you have to trust me. Zoe is definitely the best choice for you right now, if you get married.
“If I get married…”
As Kennedy thought, the exquisite face suddenly appeared before his eyes, looking at him with teary eyes and saying no.
Kennedy was surprised, why was he thinking of her again at this moment…?
-Do you hear me? -Tomorrow evening at seven o’clock for dinner. She won’t forgive you if you don’t come.
Stopping to think of her, Kennedy began to reflect on George’s words and said coldly, -I’ll be on time.
-If she avoided him, there would always be a next time, so she might as well go once and set the record straight.
Jorge laughed contentedly, -I knew you wouldn’t let me down.
-By the way, you said I always lived at Carlos’ house? -asked Kennedy suddenly.
George’s smile suddenly froze, and he said with evident disgust, “Why do you ask that? Didn’t I tell you before that you had been raised by my own, and that you would inherit the entire estate of the Carlos family in the future? You ask it now, do you think I lied to you? I wouldn’t leave the company in the hands of just anyone.
Kennedy was speechless.
He had no doubts about what Jorge was saying, but about his origins. When he woke up, he had completely forgotten who he was. It was Jorge who told him that he was his grandfather, that he had been in a shipwreck and had hit his brain on a rock, and had lost his memory, but not to worry and that the best doctors would be found to treat him.
This grandfather was very kind, but Kennedy did not feel very close to him.
He thought, “Kinship doesn’t cheat. Besides, the Charles family is of eminent renown, so they would not cede so large an undertaking to a stranger.”
-Have you thought about anything lately? Does your head still hurt? Should I call a doctor to check you out?
Kennedy shook his head and spoke indifferently.
-No, I’m fine.
-Okay, you’re still taking those pills that Dr. Jacob gave you, right? It’s okay, Kennedy, you’re my grandson, whether or not you have previous memories won’t change that, so don’t stress. If you can’t remember them, then just don’t think about it. Anyway, past memories are not that important. The most important one is what people have to look forward to.
After all, he was already an old man. He liked to talk a lot to young people. Kennedy listened for a while and said, -I’m going to rest.
Kennedy went back to his room, took a shower and cleaned up. When he came out, he opened his closet and froze when he saw the suit hanging there.
The suit was the one he had brought from Alice’s house.
That day, he had seen it in his closet and then… his underwear was all over it. At that moment he had approached her to ask if she was a pervert.
But now…
He knew all the things and told her he didn’t want this outfit. But for some reason, he hung it right in his own closet, like a madman.
And, it was in a prominent position. He could see it when he opened the closet.
Kennedy stared at the suit for a while and, suddenly laughed.
-Why does it feel like I’m the pervert? -He said to himself.

The next day
Alice had prepared a lot of fresh ingredients, because she had to have Kennedy over for dinner for a week, and had even decided what she was going to cook for dinner.
As she left work, she unconsciously slowed her pace. Since Kennedy would be following her later anyway, she asked him to get in the car.
Sure enough, after a short walk Kennedy’s car arrived.
This time, however, before she could get in, Kennedy said, -I have something to do today.
Alice’s footsteps stopped, “Huh?
And she thought, “You mean you’re not having dinner at your house today?”
Kennedy stared at her with deep eyes and lowered her voice a little, -But don’t try to forget it. You owe me dinner today.
Alice was helpless.
-Okay, I understand, but…. What are you going to do?
She asked him, unable to resist her own mental curiosity.
Looking at the woman standing there with a curious expression, Kennedy felt a little guilty.
Her eyes were so clean, so pure, they looked straight into his heart.
Kennedy averted her gaze and coughed slightly.
-My grandfather asked me to have dinner with some guests.
After explaining, Kennedy frowned quickly and thought, “Why am I explaining so much to this woman?”
-Anyway, you owe me dinner tonight, okay?
