Kennedy returned late to the company. As soon as he passed the secretary’s office, he suddenly heard a voice inside.
He listened carefully and recognized the voice of his assistant.
“Are you shouting in such a hurry? What’s the matter?” he suspected.
Kennedy frowned, raised his hand and in passing opened the door.
Looking around, there was only Alice lying on the couch. She was the one who uttered the voice at that moment.
Kennedy walked out of control toward her. Even he himself did not know why it was so.
When he came to her, Kennedy saw Alice’s delicate eyebrows closed tightly. Her white forehead was covered with cold sweat, drenching a few strands of black hair. Pink lips closed and parted in air with pained expression.
“A nightmare?” he guessed.
Kennedy wiggled her fingertips, leaned down and pushed her wet hair aside.
-No. Go back …
Alice suddenly cried out having the nightmare, startling Kennedy who stood beside her so close. She saw that her complexion was not right with breathing getting faster and faster. Finally tears escaped the corners of her eyes.
Kennedy had seen that bitter look.
It was the first time.
He was like that when she first saw him running toward him anxiously. His expression was exactly the same as that moment when she was finally carried away.
The crystal tears slid down falling from her eyes onto the couch, as if falling into Kennedy’s heart.
As her eyebrows furrowed more and more, she cried out and opened her eyes the woman sleeping on the couch suddenly.
And he was still bent over. They looked at each other without warning.
Kennedy was silent.
He pursed his thin lips and, about to stand up, the woman reached out her hands and hugged his neck tightly.
-How good! You’re all right. I know you won’t leave me alone…..
She wanted to save him in the nightmare at that moment, but she was not able to get close to him. She could only watch him fall constantly. Even though she was nervous, she couldn’t do anything.
Finally, the first time she opened her eyes, she saw Kennedy alive, standing in front of her, therefore, Alice embraced him by conditioned reflex.
She had a sense of preciousness that she lost and regained.
In spite of which, Kennedy, who was embraced by her, had different thought from what she thought.
He frowned more and more as he listened to the constant whispers from her mouth.
That woman…
Did she seem to take him as an other?
Otherwise, why did she dare to embrace him like that?
And did she keep saying the words without explanation?
An inexplicable fire rushed into his chest. Kennedy tightened his thin arms and pushed her away. Alice hugged him tightly in panic, -No, don’t pull away. Don’t leave me alone.
Kennedy didn’t know what to say.
Damn her!
Did she really take him for someone else? The one she had admitted to the one she was wrong about?
Kennedy’s heart grew more and more uncomfortable. With a little force in her hand, Alice was reluctantly pushed away by him.
She still had tears at the corners of her eyes. Her beautiful eyes were lovely, but her face was as pale as if she had suffered from a serious illness.
Kennedy sneered, “Who do you think I am?
Alice looked at him in surprise.
-No? -He narrowed his eyes, and his whole body exuded a dangerous and fierce aura of murder. Alice shuddered and slowly recovered.
It was real, the person in front of her, and … Kennedy had completely lost her memory, that she did not recognize her.
And she had been so awkward just before.
Thinking it over, Alice reached out her hand quickly to wipe the tears from her face and apologize.
-I’m sorry, President!
Her shocked and lost look after she recovered made Kennedy confirm her conjecture even more. She admitted that she was really wrong, didn’t she?
Otherwise, how could she have such a reaction with such a grief-stricken face?
Kennedy’s lips tugged and he sneered coldly.
-For what, rushing to hug me or admitting you were wrong?
Alice glared at him. She sensed anger in his breath and his gaze. Her first reaction was that … Should he be angry just because she hugged him?
Alice bit her lower lip, -I’m sorry. She didn’t do it on purpose.
She just had that nightmare and was too scared. It turned out that as soon as she woke up, she saw the man from the dream standing in front of her, so she couldn’t think twice at that moment and hugged him without hesitation.
She was slowly recovering.
If she knew he would be so angry, she definitely wouldn’t.
Speaking of which, though, why were you at the secretary’s?
She thought about it and Alice’s eyes turned confused, -Chairman, why are you here?
Kennedy was not preparing to answer her.
It was ridiculous in his heart at first, but when he asked her about it, Kennedy felt a little fearful.
Could he say he came to see her because he heard her nightmarish cry?
Of course not.
He pursed his thin lips and looked at her coldly.
The look made his hands and feet go numb. Alice sat there, feeling that her back was cold.
He looked like he was really angry.
Alice lowered her lashes and bit her pink lips.
-I’m sorry. I know what I did makes you very angry, but I really didn’t do it on purpose. I just had a nightmare, so…
She couldn’t talk anymore. Her voice was getting smaller and smaller and her head was getting lower and lower.
Seeing her like this, Kennedy became more irritable and stood up.
-What’s it got to do with me if you have nightmares?
Alice raised her head in astonishment. He seemed to be enraged. He didn’t know what to say, so he bit his lower lip and remained silent.
The atmosphere in the secretary’s room suddenly became quiet. Kennedy turned around and was about to leave.
-Well…-Alice couldn’t help but raise her head and call out to him.
Kennedy stopped the long leg for a while without looking back, but asked her aloud, -What else?
-What happened last night. Thank you.
Kennedy scoffed in a cold tone.
-There’s no need. If you weren’t taken by Anthony, he wouldn’t save you at all.
These blunt words made Alice’s face feel hot. She didn’t give up and continued, -In spite of that, I still have to thank you.
It was only unnecessary for her to ask him stupidly why he came to save her.
-Are you done?
-What?
Alice was stunned for a moment. Suddenly, she remembered something else and hastened to add, -Besides, I’ll bring your suit coat to the cleaners and return it to you after I’ve pressed it.
Kennedy still did not know how to answer him.
He stood there without moving his slender body. It took him a long time to let out his voice, -Don’t you know I have misophobia?
-Yes.
-Since you know, I’ll throw the suit away. Why will you give it back to me?
When he finished saying it, he didn’t give Alice another chance and left the room in a stride.
Alice sat on the couch in a daze. It wasn’t that she couldn’t guess. Compared to the night before, ups and downs appeared in her emotions.
Was it… was it just because she carelessly gave him a hug?
