The movement was so great that a careless knee hit the single sofa on the side.
directly touched the tendons above the knee, the stabbing pain came violently, she immediately bent down in pain, hand hard against the knee, her face went white.
Neal Williams thought she was messing with her, but then he felt something was wrong, dropped his book and walked over quickly, “Andrea Jones?”
Neal Williams reached over to help her, and on instinct she leaned her entire body against him.
“It hurts?” Neal Williams blushed with worry.
She only propped up her knees with one hand, clutching his arm with the other, and when she heard him ask, she only hung her head and nodded uncontrollably.
Neal Williams was chagrined to the core. Had I known this would happen, I would not have messed with her.
Bending over and holding her waist with one hand, letting her whole body cling to himself, he went to pull the hem of her skirt with the other hand and said softly, “Let me see, where did it hit.”
His tone was so gentle, and his movements so careful, that Andrea Jones was almost inexorably absorbed.
Sensing his movement to lift up her skirt, she subconsciously stepped back an inch as he murmured, “Stay good and don’t move.”
She bit her lip lightly and really didn’t move around.
The eyes can only see his crouching back, and do not see his expression at the moment. But, inexplicably, I can feel his tenderness at this moment.
His hand, tentatively, touched her knee, gently kneading it, “Is it here?”
“… hmm.” It was a long moment before she spoke in a muffled voice.
“Can you straighten it out? Here, try.” Neal Williams stood up straight and instructed her.
She licked her lips, drew back her hand on his arm, and tried to stand up straight, but her knees hurt like hell when they were straight. She immediately curled her knees and shook her head with a white face, “It hurts.”
What a little fool who can’t take care of himself!
If she had lived alone, he could not imagine. The good thing is, she is not a person who just gambles without regard to the consequences.
Neal Williams pulled her to the couch and sat down, “Be a good girl and sit down and stop moving around.”
He finished and went back to his bedroom, with an extra set of car keys in his hand.
And then, after just one look at her, turned and walked towards the foyer. Looking at that back, Andrea Jones subconsciously turned back, instinctively wanted to ask him where he was going so late, but, the words came to his lips and choked back.
He had changed his shoes.
When he looked up, he met her eyes. Neal Williams sighed, “Give me a minute. I’m going to go get some medicine and I’ll be right back.”
I see. …
Instead, she didn’t answer, and she didn’t turn around again. Only when the door closed and his footsteps disappeared beyond it did Andrea Jones turn back around and stare at the door in awe.
It was only after a long time that I returned to my senses and touched my knee. There is still some pain, but it seems to be much better than just now.
Obviously said a moment, but, have passed half an hour, but still not see him back.
Andrea Jones looked up again, suddenly panicked. There’s a 24-hour pharmacy not far from here, and it’s only a ten-minute drive there and back.
But now it’s been three ten minutes!
Could it be that something happened to …?
No! Absolutely not!
He always drives very steadily!
The dreadful thought came to me, and was sharplydismissed by Andrea Jones. However, the panic in her heart did not diminish at all. In addition to the possibility that something has happened, she really can not think of a second possibility.
The more she thought about it, the more fear rose up in her heart. Rising from the couch with a bang and pulling her tendons again, she was in unbearable pain.
Only gritting his teeth and not caring about anything, he headed for the guest room to find his cell phone.
Only when I pushed open the bedroom door, I heard a ‘click’ and the heavy door was pushed open from the outside.
She turned around in shock, and when she saw it was Neal Williams, her heart snapped open and her tense body relaxed.
Thank God!
Nothing is going on!
Neal Williams frowned, put down the medicine in his hand and took a few steps over to him, “Why are you standing up? I thought I told you to stay put?”
“I’m sleepy …,” she excused herself.
Neal Williams sighed, “It’s really too late. But it’s better to put some salve on it before going to bed, so it doesn’t still hurt tomorrow.”
Andrea Jones wanted to ask him why he had been gone so long, but before the words could come out, she bit her lip and held back.
“Just went out and met with a car accident, only to be delayed a bit.”
Car accident?
Andrea Jones’ heart tightened, and her eyes subconsciously darted past him. Although nothing was said, Neal Williams could see the tension in her eyes clearly.
The heart is warm, can’t help but raise his lips on a smile, “Don’t worry, I’m not talking about the matter, the accident is not me. They blocked the road, that’s why there was a delay.”
She was a little embarrassed to be seen through her mind.
Vainly afraid to meet his eyes, half a moment before returning to him, “… Oh. I’m not worried.”
Saying that you are not worried, but, even you can’t lie to yourself.
Neal Williams eyes darkened for a second, and the joy that had just risen was immediately knocked to the bottom.
A moment later it was just a sarcastic nod, “Go sit down.”
She nodded, dragging her legs again and moving to sit on the couch.
Neal Williams pulled up a chair and sat down across from her. Lifted her sore leg up and rested it on his own lap.
Poured safflower oil on his palm before putting it on her knee. He has moved very carefully, but she still can not help but frown, some difficult to tolerate the look.
“Does it hurt?” He asked worriedly, his hands moving a little more gently.
“… hmm.” She buzzed in reply.
Actually, so strange …
Just now when he was not there, even if it hurts again, she can endure, not to say a word.
But now that he’s back, that little pain is suddenly magnified and she becomes like a child, not only not wanting to endure it, but also wanting to show all her pain.
“Hold back a little. I just asked the doctor and he said it won’t be too much of a problem. Just be careful and don’t touch this tendon again for a few days.”
He whispered.
On nights like this, it’s gentle like cotton candy, even with a hint of sweetness.
She bit her lip, but clearly felt something shaking and loosening in her heart.
But, remembering what happened six years ago, remembering her father’s sudden death and her mother’s last explanation, her throat tightened and she shifted her knees a bit, fleeing from her fingertips, “I’ll do it myself.”
Clearly sensing her sudden change of mood, Neal Williams lifted his eyes to give her a sullen look.
The safflower oil was put away and set aside, “No need to put it on today, put some on tomorrow.”
“Good.” She stifled a response.
“It’s getting late, go inside and go to bed.” Neal Williams got up and picked her right up.
The burning chest came close, the steady heartbeat pounding against her heart one by one. As if she foresaw her sinking, she bit her lower lip and buzzed her demand, “Neal Williams, you put me down!”
“Don’t struggle needlessly.” Neal Williams said flatly, carrying her on to the bedroom.
She lay back on the bed and let Neal Williams pull the covers over her. As she turned off the light to leave, Andrea Jones called out to him, “Neal Williams!”
In the darkness, he paused in his steps.
“In the future … don’t have to move to hug me, I don’t need it. In the future, one day, I will be alone!”
The room, in particular, was dark.
Andrea Jones, however, inexplicably felt his vision so deep, so dark. Fixed on their own, as if there is indescribable sorrow and grief.
Her chest constricted, suddenly a little chagrined if she had gone too far.
Without waiting to open his lips to say anything, Neal Williams had already retreated to the door, and a moment before closing the door, his cool voice drifted into her ears.
“What happens later in life is your business, not mine. Now that I still have it, I have to make sure that my child is all right.”
She froze.
The four words ‘nothing to do with me’ still keep reverberating in my mind. Like a tiny scythe. One by one, cut her heart vaguely painful.
He’s right …
In the future, her days, and he really no longer have a relationship …
The child is born, they, from now on, are a pair of strangers?
Thinking about this possibility, she suddenly felt a chill run through her body. She pulled the quilt tightly, curled herself into a ball, and bit her lip to keep the sour tears from staining her face.
That’s what she wanted, and that’s what her mother and sister wanted – the whole family, including the Williams family, didn’t want her to have anything more to do with Neal Williams, so why should she sink any lower? Wasn’t the lesson learned today enough?
She told herself this over and over again, and over and over again she let her warm heart continue to cool.
Outside the door, Neal Williams stood still for a long time. Half a long time, as if to find their own breath, disheveled to the sofa to sit down, tired to support the brow.
It was like she had him by the throat.
Once he relaxed a little, pleased a little, she would say something that would gently and subtly choke his breath.
He was a little tired.
Close your eyes and lie down on the couch. Force yourself not to think about the baby being born and the separation they face later.
The next day…
Andrea Jones woke up early and subconsciously rubbed her knee, which was much better and didn’t hurt as much as last night.
Walking down the hall, I saw Neal Williams lying on the couch.
Heart slightly tightened.
He actually slept on the couch all night?
I don’t know if it’s because the stubble is coming out, or because he’s really tired lately, at the moment it looks like his whole person is going to be a lot more haggard.
Heart, some pain.
Sister Chen happened to open the door and come in. She is a big lad, and her movements are naturally not light. In his sleep, Neal Williams subconsciously grabbed his eyebrows, as if he was disturbed.
“Shh–” Andrea Jones was busy making a quiet gesture toward Chen, signaling her to be lighter.
Only then did Chen see Neal Williams on the sofa, and suddenly realized that he did not even dare to breathe.
Andrea Jones breathed a sigh of relief and brought a thin blanket from her room to cover him up. He gathered up the blanket, rolled over with difficulty and went back to sleep in a more comfortable position.
Andrea Jones helps Sister Chen make breakfast.
“Should we wake up Mr. Williams? It’s getting late, and breakfast will be served in a few minutes.”
Sister Chen asked.
Andrea Jones looked outside. She didn’t even notice that her expression had softened at the sight of the sleeping face. Drawing back her eyes, she only shook her head and said, “It’s better to let him sleep for a while. It just might be uncomfortable to sleep on the couch.”
Sister Chen looked at her and smiled straight down.
Andrea Jones thought it was a little strange, and after turning the fire up, she turned her head and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I really don’t know what you two youngsters are having a problem with, Mr. Williams is too good for you, I see, you are the same for Mr. Williams. Although the surface is always cold, but the heart is all about him.”
She was stunned.
One pair of eyes only looked at the porridge.
So, her heart, is it so obvious? Even Sister Chen, who has only been here for a few days, can see it so clearly?
