“The key! The keys!” Sammy Jones reached out and grabbed the key. Charleen Davis urged, “Come on, don’t let anything happen.”
“No, it won’t …,” Sammy Jones murmured, finally inserting the key into the hole.
Charleen Davis felt her eyes go black and almost fainted.
Fortunately, the busy aunt in the kitchen heard the commotion outside and rushed out.
She held up Charleen Davis.
Charleen Davis is already in tears, pale lips open and close, but the mouth of the throat is blocked to say a word, can only use teary eyes to indicate Sammy Jones to save Andrea Jones.
Sammy Jones is scared and frightened.
Andrea Jones’ entire body had been sunken into the tub by now. The water in the tub had cooled, leaving only the top of her hair floating on top.
Sammy Jones took one step forward and two steps back, grabbed her by the hair and yanked her out of the tub.
She had lost consciousness, and the whole person became unusually heavy. The skin on her body was even a little swollen from the soaking.
Sammy Jones was in pain, crying and falling to his knees, shaking his hands and patting her bloodless face, “Andrea Jones!
Andrea Jones didn’t move. Dark strands of hair like algae covered her entire face.
It also makes her face look even paler and ugly.
Sammy Jones carried her hard from the tub to the floor, arms folded, fighting to compress her chest.
Andrea Jones, who had choked and passed out, finally stirred. The naked body moved twice and spat out a large mouthful of water.
Not bothering to catch his breath, Sammy Jones continued.
Andrea Jones spat out two more mouthfuls of water before slowly opening her eyes.
Relieved, Sammy Jones did not know where his temper came from, and did not even think about slapping Andrea Jones, “You are so useless, you want to die for nothing!”
After the scolding, she cried.
She was scared and out of her depth.
Andrea Jones was unconscious and snapped back to consciousness by the slap. The eyes slowly turned to Sammy Jones, and for a few moments the eyes of the godless finally came into focus.
Sammy Jones cried all of a sudden, and couldn’t stop the tears.
Andrea Jones looked at her tears and suddenly laughed. It took a long time to find her weak voice, “I didn’t want to die … just fell asleep …”
Sammy Jones’ face was still as ugly as ever, cursing in anger, “Don’t you have any brains? How dare you fall asleep in the bathtub! Do you know that if we had found out later, you would have been dead by now!”
When I think about it now, I still feel palpitations.
Andrea Jones laughed bitterly, “I’m so cold … can you help me up first …”
She tried to move her body, but, really, there was not a single ounce of strength.
Sammy Jones glared at her and pulled a towel to wipe her tears before picking her up off the floor. The word ‘deserved’ had already come out, but, looking at her eyes, which were as red and swollen as two light bulbs because she was crying so hard, the words didn’t come out after all.
How is she doing with Neal Williams …?
She did not dare to ask, nor was she qualified to ask.
Seeing Andrea Jones being helped out of the bathroom, all fine except for being tingly and without strength, Charleen Davis was relieved to stop her tears.
Luckily it was just a false alarm!
…
The night, gradually deepening.
Andrea Jones lay curled up in bed. Fuzzy light enveloped her at the head of the bed.
She looked at her hands, which were soaked and peeling. Heart, at the moment, is probably like these hands, full of sores.
She forced herself not to think about what Neal Williams was doing at the moment, but, like a vine, the heart of the miss grew inch by inch, tearing her heart.
Her thoughts came to an abrupt halt when Charleen Davis pushed the door in. Without moving, she pressed the tear tracks at the corners of her eyes with her quilted foot before sitting up, “Mom, why are you still up so late?”
Charleen Davis has finished her shower and is in her pajamas.
The whole person looks thinner and thinner.
She lifted the covers and lay down next to Andrea Jones, who hooked her lips and pouted, leaned her head over and asked, “Sleep with me tonight?”
“Hmm.”
“Scared by me?” Andrea Jones whispered, “Sorry, I just fell asleep …”
Charleen Davis lifted the hair from her cheeks, her eyes fixed on her.
She was suddenly glad that the light over the bed was blurry, just enough to block out all the tear stains in her eyes.
“Andrea-chan, do you blame Mom?”
“Of course not. I know Mom is doing it for my own good …” Andrea Jones held her close. In her arms, the body grew thinner and thinner, as if it would go up in smoke at any moment. It made her nose sink.
“Mom knows, Mom is a little selfish. But …” Charleen Davis sighed, “the long pain is better than the short pain, you know? If the Williams family doesn’t agree, you will eventually have to break up. When the time comes, even Mom is gone, Mom has no way to be a pillar for you, and I’m afraid you can’t handle it alone …”
Andrea Jones could not speak, only burying her face deeper into the crook of Charleen Davis’ arm.
“Andrea, don’t blame Mom.”
She nodded, “I know, I know all …”
“And your sister …”
“Hmm?”
“She’s still her after all, she hasn’t changed. She’s still just as worried about you as she was before, and just now you looked like that and it made her cry.”
Andrea Jones’ heart is much relieved.
How could she not know this?
“I know that too … I’m watching it all.”
“That’s good. She’s a proud person, give her some time and she’ll figure it out on her own.”
Andrea Jones nodded, “Yes. Don’t worry, no matter what, we are two sisters. We grew up together.”
Night, deepening.
Mother and daughter lay in bed, talking softly. It was only in the middle of the night that they fell asleep against each other.
…
The other side.
Neal Williams drank a lot before he went home. But, surprisingly, he was not drunk. The more he drank, the more sober he became. In his mind, back and forth is that little face in front of his eyes.
And her final, decisive and cruel words.
Breakups …
Said to be a lifetime, but, said and said, all of a sudden scattered …
Pressing on the bedroom light, the light enveloped the large bed.
The bed, as it was before she left.
The quilt was neatly folded in the corner by her, and there was not even a single crease in the sheets. He collapsed on the bed in dismay, in a trance, as if her scent was all around him.
This is simply a great torture for him.
One by one, it pulled at his nerves.
He suddenly sat up, pulled the sheets and quilts, and desperately shoved them into the laundry bin. As if to break the spell she had set on herself.
But …
To his chagrin, he found that her scent remained after the bathroom door was flung shut …
Every inch of breath can be smelled.
It turns out that one is just doing nothing.
Some people, has been engraved in the marrow of the bone. Not only is her heart, mind is her, even breathing in … are all her …
Can’t forget, can’t quit …
In this life, only fell in this spell.
Andrea Jones was recalled to the company by a phone call from Garret Miller.
“Andrea Jones, I don’t care what your reason is, in any case, I will not allow you to resign.”
“But, Mr. Miller, please consider my family’s situation.” Andrea Jones struggled to convince Garret Miller.
Garret Miller tore up her ‘resignation letter’ straight away.
“Our company has always been very humane. I know that your family situation is difficult, so when you want to take a vacation, when do I not immediately approve it?”
Andrea Jones was rendered speechless by Garret Miller’s rhetorical question.
“So, you don’t have to think about resigning, I won’t approve it.”
Garret Miller glanced at Andrea Jones and saw that she looked pensive.
He paused for a moment before saying, “I know something happened between you and Neal Williams, but, I hope this doesn’t affect your work. You need to know that men are men and work is work, and those two are separate.”
Andrea Jones nodded, “I understand.”
The reason why I wanted to quit at first was just to give my mom a little more peace of mind.
“Then you go out.” Garret Miller said. Looking at Andrea Jones who turned around, she couldn’t help but add, “Neal actually cares about you, I’ve never seen him as attached to any woman as you are.”
Andrea Jones shuddered, barely able to stand on her feet.
But …
In the end, he still did not turn around, but just stiffened up and walked out.
…
I had expected that I would meet Neal Williams again at the office. However, since we are not in the same department, I didn’t expect that we would meet so soon.
Garret Miller informed the meeting, so she went up to the top floor with Garret Miller, holding the information.
Neal Williams was the last one to arrive .
Andrea Jones couldn’t help but stare at him with fascination, and after his usual rounds, his eyes quickly fell on Andrea Jones .
Andrea Jones subconsciously tried to avert her gaze, but …
She was lost to find that his eyes lingered on her for only a second – as if he were looking at anyone else – and those eyes, without a trace of wave, much less any other emotion, moved away, raw and cold.
Andrea Jones suddenly felt that her panic and unease were all a bit redundant and ridiculous at the moment.
So …
In the future … they all have to get along with each other like strangers as they do now?
Isn’t this exactly what you want? But …
It hurts!
“Andrea Jones? Are you okay?” Garret Miller asked worriedly when he saw her red eyes.
She then returned to her senses, swallowed her tears, tried very, very hard to raise a smile and shook her head, “Of course it’s fine. I’m fine!”
Garret Miller didn’t say anything else, just looked at her and then at Neal Williams, who had fallen into his seat.
What is wrong with these two people?
Last night someone was clearly in pain and poured himself to death, but, now he is dying.
He would like to see how long this girl can last!
…
Throughout the meeting, Andrea Jones tried hard not to lose focus, but often when her eyes fell on Neal Williams, her thoughts were out of control.
Standing in front of the slide show, he was rich and elegant, as if their breakup yesterday did not have the slightest effect on him. This made her heart sour and bitter.
The meeting is finally over and everyone is packing up to leave.
Neal Williams, however, hadn’t left yet, and interim secretary Marshall Johnson was packing up his things for him as he sat there, unmoving.
The others, only Andrea Jones was left to pack. Feeling Neal Williams’ eyes fall on her, her hands trembled a bit, biting her lip, finally haphazardly clutching her things and fleeing before he could make a sound.
Her figure, completely disappeared.
Neal Williams’ eyes instantly darkened. Almost immediately wanted to get up and chase out, but, standing up, in the end, he sat back in his chair.
“Second youngster …” looking at his obscure face, Marshall Johnson couldn’t help but call out in a low voice.
Neal Williams didn’t say anything, and Marshall Johnson didn’t dare to make another sound.
If the heart is empty, it becomes a walking corpse.
