Charleen Davis also nodded lightly in response. But the look on her face was not warm, her eyes just skimmed over his shoulder and looked at her daughter behind her, “Andrea, mom wants some water, go get some hot water for mom.”
“Well … good.” Hiding behind Neal Williams, she had put her clothes back together, but her face was still so red it could drip blood.
Sidestepping out from behind Neal Williams, she gave him a quiet look before walking over and holding Charleen Davis’ arm, “Mom, you go in first, it’s windy out, don’t freeze.”
“It’s okay, I’m sore from sleep, and Mom just happens to want to walk.” Charleen Davis patted her hand.
“Andrea, you walk with your aunt. I’ll go get some water.” Neal Williams turned around and prepared to go into the hospital room to carry the water bottle.
“No need, Second Younger!” Charleen Davis, however, raised her voice and called him back, her tone rusty, “Please come and run to the hospital, we have things to do, so we won’t see you off.”
The eviction could not be more obvious.
Neal Williams subconsciously looked to Andrea Jones, as if to ask what she meant.
Biting her lower lip, she looked at her mother’s face, remembering the promise she had made earlier, and could only say, “Mr. Williams… you go first, thank you for coming over tonight.”
Mr. Williams?
You?
Neal Williams’ eyes deepened.
Andrea Jones stole a glance at him with some difficulty, and it dawned on him that the tight frown had loosened a bit. He nodded, bowed slightly, and said goodbye to Charleen Davis with courtesy and grace, “I’ll leave you to take care of yourself, then.”
The deep eyes then proceeded to fall on Andrea Jones.
She, however, was too vain to look again and only hung her head.

Neal Williams’ figure, slowly disappearing down the long hallway, Charleen Davis didn’t even glance at Andrea Jones, just jerked away and headed for the hospital room.
“Mom …”
Andrea Jones followed, calling out in a somewhat curt manner.
“Mom has said everything that needs to be said, Andrea, and you know exactly what you just promised Mom without me saying it.” Charleen Davis still didn’t look at her, only carried the water bottle herself and headed out.
“I’m sorry, Mom, I …”
“It’s not an apology Mom needs to hear either, I just don’t want to watch my good daughter get hurt for nothing!” Charleen Davis side-stepped her and turned to walk out the door, her tone a little heavier. However, the heartfelt pity was real.
Looking at her mother’s angry face, Andrea Jones was not feeling well either.
She ran up and wrapped her arm around her, “Mom, I’ll listen to you. Don’t be angry, okay?”
Charleen Davis still ignores her.
She took the kettle from her hand and softly pouted, “I’ll do whatever you want. Mom, I’ll be your best girl.”
Charleen Davis is the most soft-hearted.
When her daughter is pampered, she often has no choice. The face, all of a sudden, eased a lot, but still deliberately hard voice to ask: “Really?”
“Well, really …,” she nodded.
In the heart, but apologizing …
Sorry …
She can’t not see Neal Williams, she thought, she can’t just turn him down …
True, as he said, if you don’t verify it yourself, how will you know the answer? Maybe … one day, Ma will accept Neal Williams too.
Do not ask where he came from, do not ask his family, just on him as a person …
Seeing her daughter say this, Charleen Davis did not push further. Just lowered her eyes, complex vision looking at her, helplessly sighing and shaking her head.
Fate, such things are so strange.
It’s not clear …
No wonder, when I first met Neal Williams, it was like seeing his shadow …
So, so.

After finishing the case, Sammy Jones just hurried to the hospital.
“What’s wrong? What’s going on all of a sudden?” Dropping her bag, Sammy Jones sat down and asked, “Where’s the chart? What did the doctor say? What kind of tests were done?”
“You can’t read the medical records even if you take them. The doctor didn’t say anything, so don’t worry, it’s just a minor problem.” Charleen Davis patted her older daughter’s hand, reassuring.
“Really?” Still unsure, Sammy Jones tilted his head to look at Andrea Jones.
Glancing at her mother, Andrea Jones nodded before nodding, “Yes. Mom’s right.”
How dare she tell the truth about the doctor’s words in front of her mother? She only said, “The doctor said that the test results would be released in three days, and that there was nothing serious.”
“I’m really scared to death by you guys. How did we end up in the hospital when we went out to eat for a good reason?” Sammy Jones muttered as he tucked in Charleen Davis.
Andrea Jones was speechless, just turned to look out the window into the darkness, her heart dull.
What happened tonight, she doesn’t want to talk about …
The following day was Charleen Davis’ discharge day.
Andrea Jones’ cell phone suddenly rang .
She took it out of her bag and looked at it. When she saw the number displayed on the screen, she subconsciously looked over at her mother. She didn’t think much of it and immediately pressed the hang-up button.
Before the phone rings again, she quickly turns it right off.
Sammy Jones didn’t know what they were thinking at the moment, but looking at her fidgeting, he couldn’t help but tease her, “What kind of boyfriend did you have again? You don’t even dare to answer the phone, and you’re afraid Mom and I will laugh at you?”
“No … is not a boyfriend.” Andrea Jones put the phone away, “Mom, I’m going to go do the paperwork, you guys just wait for me at the door.”
“Hmm. Go ahead.” Charleen Davis nodded.
Andrea Jones had only turned around when she spoke up again and called out to her, “Andrea-chan.”
“Hmm?”
Charleen Davis’ eyes fell lightly on her jade bracelet, “This is too valuable after all. If it fits, you’d better return it to the person, so as not to fall into the mouth.”
Andrea Jones was slightly stunned.
Fingers touched on the jade bracelet, touching the body temperature on it, a moment before nodding, “I … know.”
When Andrea Jones’ figure disappeared, Sammy Jones smiled a little, “Mom, why is she so preoccupied?”
Charleen Davis didn’t say anything.
Sammy Jones added, “Mom, I’m not talking about you, but that jade bracelet looks good on Andrea. It’s a generous gift from someone, so it’s okay to keep it.”
“What did Mom usually teach you guys? You don’t get paid for what you don’t get. It’s not like you to accept such an expensive gift for no reason! If your father were still around, your father wouldn’t allow it.” Charleen Davis gave a serious lecture.
Sammy Jones spat out his tongue, “Got it, Mom has a point.”

The cold, mechanical voice coming from the other end of the phone made Neal Williams feel nothing but distraction.
She hung up his phone that decisively, and, moreover, turned it off directly with determination.
Is it possible that she is shaken again?
So, no matter what he did or said, there was no point in making her want to hold on?
“Mr. Williams, everyone is here, the meeting will be held soon.” Zoey Baker knocked on the door and reminded.
“Well, got it.” Neal Williams grimaced and responded only briefly. Grabbing the phone, he held it at his chin and didn’t move it for a moment.
“Is something wrong?” Zoey Baker gave him a suspicious double take.
Neal Williams then stood up and threw his phone on the desk. He was about to go out, when his phone rang abruptly at that moment.
Almost immediately turned around and fished the phone over. Seeing the name displayed on the screen, the face that had just been tensed up had loosened up a lot. Picked it up and pressed it to his ear, taking the lead and said, “Wait for me.”
Now turn your head and instruct Zoey Baker, “Go ahead, I’ll be right behind you.”
The look, compared to just now, has been very different.
Zoey Baker lost her smile, didn’t say much, closed the door and turned to go out.

“Are you busy?” Andrea Jones was worried about delaying his business.
“Well, a little. But a phone call doesn’t hurt.” Neal Williams returned her. The bad mood he had just felt because she had hung up on him was now gone after hearing her voice.
“My mom was just there, so I didn’t answer the phone very well.” Afraid of his misunderstanding, she hurriedly explained.
“Your mother doesn’t like me?” Just now in the hospital, her mother’s attitude had said it all.
“It’s not that I don’t like it. It’s just that my mom has my mom’s considerations …” After a pause, she said, “My mom isn’t in good health and I don’t want to upset her anymore.”
So, what she means is …
“We’re underground now?”
Andrea Jones was embarrassed.
Before, it was called ‘cheating’, and now it’s ‘underground love’, between them, there is no legitimate word available?
“I don’t even dare to answer the phone in front of my mom.”
“So you’re hiding somewhere now?” Her mind had already conjured up a picture of her sneaky appearance and only felt amused.
“In the process of discharging my mother from the hospital, she will be discharged in a few minutes.”
“Shall I ask Marshall Johnson to pick you up?”
“No need for that! Don’t ever let Marshall Johnson come, I can’t explain it to my mother.” Andrea Jones was busy refusing.
“Okay, I got it.” Neal Williams naturally wouldn’t push it and looked down at the clock, “The meeting is about to start, can’t talk to you much.”
“… Oh, good.”
“Wait for my call tonight.”
Neal Williams gave an explanation and waited for Andrea Jones to answer before hanging up the phone in a hurry.

After the line was closed, Andrea Jones stood in line to do the paperwork, thinking about what he said about “underground affairs”, and all sorts of complicated feelings came to mind.
They haven’t actually started yet, yet, there is already so much resistance around …
In the future, if we really together, I’m afraid, more resistance will only be endless …
Will they be brave enough to go on with each other, with each other?

All day long, Andrea Jones did not receive another call from Neal Williams. At 9:00 p. m., I was lying in bed talking with Sammy Jones when my phone suddenly rang.
With a start, she had grinned and grabbed the phone and stuck it to her face before Sammy Jones could probe to see.
One look at that look and Sammy Jones knew what was going on. Patting her on the hip with envy, he got up from the bed, “Love your love, I’ll go see if Mom’s asleep.”
“Hmm. I’ll be there in a minute.”
After sending Sammy Jones out of the room, Andrea Jones just clutched her phone and chatted with Neal Williams.
“Just got home now? Are you tired? Did you have dinner?”
Just open your mouth, already is chasing three questions.
A whole day’s worth of attachment was immediately evident.
Neal Williams’ low chuckle came from the other end. In the dark night, through the airwaves, it sounded extraordinarily sexy and low.
The experience of being cared for is something he has had from time to time. However, it is the first time to feel such pleasure, such satisfaction …
“Not home yet, still at the club, not leaving until later.” He sounded slightly lazy.
“You’ve been drinking a lot?” The tone of his voice was instantly recognizable to her.
“A little.”
“Then you won’t be able to drive when you get back later.” Andrea Jones thought for a moment, but got out of bed, “What club are you in front of?”
“Chaoan Road here. What?”
“Nope, just asking around.”
Neal Williams didn’t think much of it and just said, “I have clients waiting for me, so I’ll go ahead and get busy. Take an early night tonight and spend more time with your mom.”
“Good.” Andrea Jones dutifully responded.
After hanging up the phone, she fell back into bed and lay there for another two minutes. After thinking about it for a while, she got up and changed her clothes.
As she emerged from the bedroom, she met Sammy Jones coming out of Charleen Davis’ room.
“Mom’s asleep?” Andrea Jones cautiously probed to see.
“Asleep.” Sammy Jones said softly, gently closing the door behind him, “Keep your voice down, Mom had a hard time falling asleep. Eh, what are you doing changing clothes in the middle of the night?”
“… I’d like to go out for a while.”
