Without further thought, she bowed her head to help the cashier sort things out, and also took the opportunity to break away from his arms without moving. She was afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would indulge in that tenderness and be unable to extricate herself.
Neal Williams gave her a deep look and couldn’t help but wonder if she would be disappointed to know that the so-called ‘friend’ who sent her the gift and message was herself.
“Ah …” flipping things over, she suddenly let out a low cry.
“What’s left to buy?” Neal Williams lifted several shopping bags and set them aside in the cart, pulling her to the side.
She bit her lip and didn’t say anything, her little face flushed, “Wait here for a minute, I’ll go in and buy it.”
Neal Williams reached out and pulled her in.
“Wait here, I’ll go.”
“I’ll just go by myself.” Andrea Jones was still red in the face.
Neal Williams yanked her down without a word, and his tone was even more imperious. “Stay put and don’t fuss around.”
“But …” again, he didn’t know what he needed.
“What brand do you normally use?” Neal Williams asked straight away.
“Huh?”
Neal Williams remained taciturn, “Don’t you girls all have your own special favorite brands?”
Andrea Jones stared at him in dismay.
He actually knows what he wants?
“Don’t stare at me like that!” It’s like he’s an alien creature.
“I … usually use Sophie …” a simple sentence, so difficult that it seems to squeeze out from between the lips. After saying that, the face is as red as a tomato, and even do not dare to look at him more than once.
Compared to her embarrassment, he was frank and completely unconcerned.
“Wait.”
Leaving two words behind, Neal Williams had turned around and re-entered the supermarket. Watching that back, her heart raced, and something was getting out of step.
…
Sophie’s tampons were left wide open in the cart. Red-faced, she hurriedly used something else to keep them out of the way.
Neal Williams only laughed at her embarrassed look.
“Why do you need this all of a sudden? Yesterday … well, it wasn’t yesterday.” He blushed then became a little uncomfortable, she was fine yesterday when he helped her take off her clothes.
If you don’t ask, Andrea Jones is so embarrassed that she wants to go into a hole in the ground.
And a man, or a man who can only be considered an ordinary friend at best to talk about such topics, how to think how strange!
But …
He looked very skilled when he did it all.
Trying to escape the moment, the next words came out of her mouth without much thought, “Did you used to buy for Miss Brown too?”
When the words came out, she was slightly stunned.
What kind of questions are you asking yourself?
Whether the answer is yes or no, that is his own business, and what does it have to do with her?
“I used to buy this for people.” Neal Williams, unaware that her mind was in such a state of flux at the moment, simply pushed the cart while replying to her words.
“Oh …” not at all surprised by the answer, but her voice in reply was inexplicably lowered a few points.
Sammy Jones once told her that men are not born to be considerate, and that men who understand women are inevitably carefully trained by many women.
Well, it is clear that Neal Williams is such an acquired man.
“There are two other women in the family, and I started running errands for them when I was in my early teens.” An ulterior glance at Andrea Jones before Neal Williams slowed to explain.
Andrea Jones looked at him sideways.
“My sister and my little sister.” He added.
Andrea Jones has heard a bit about the youngsters in the family: Neal Williams has a sister, and a cousin and a cousin.
“So that’s it …” Andrea Jones then nodded in understanding, her mood inexplicably upturned some more.
Neal Williams turned his face back, and the corners of his lips followed a few points up.
…
Worried about her back injury, so no matter how much she asked to carry something, Neal Williams unceremoniously refused flatly.
After putting her things in the kitchen, she hoofed it down to clean up, and Neal Williams yanked her up without saying a word.
“Hmm?” She turned her head sideways to look at him in amazement.
This man!
Why do you like to pull and pull at every turn?
“Rub the medicine first.” Neal Williams yanked her down the hall and set the medicine cabinet down in front of her.
She touched her waistband, which still hurt, and, somewhat unsure of her ability to get there, shook her head, “No, it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Neal Williams was going to ask if he wanted to help, but the offer was simply superfluous.
This shy little woman must have bounced so far.
“Go and put it on casually in front of the mirror, or it will hurt more tomorrow. And your face …” Neal Williams pointed to the injury on her face, “you put on the medicine the doctor prescribed yesterday as well.”
“But …”
“Dawdling so much, do you want me to help you?” Without waiting for her to finish, Neal Williams’ eyes swept over.
Sure enough, she immediately grabbed the medicine and rushed into the guest room.
His help is appreciated!
Looking at the closed doorway, Neal Williams’ eyes deepened, and there was a faint trace of a smile at the corner of his lips. This apartment, can step into the woman, few and far between.
He doesn’t like outsiders coming and going and making a lot of noise. However, it was only today that he realized that having someone around seemed to make a big difference.
…
“It’s time to start eating!”
Afraid of delaying his time, Andrea Jones only cooked a few simple dishes.
Neal Williams sits down across from her and she hands her chopsticks over.
“Try it, I haven’t cooked for myself in a long time.”
Neal Williams was the first to try a bite of the fish-flavored eggplant. It was fragrant and tender, and not a bit greasy between the lips.
“How is it?” Although she was quite confident in her cooking skills, she was more or less nervous to actually show it in front of him for the first time.
Neal Williams, who is used to eating a lot of food from the sea, has no idea how picky his mouth is.
Looking at her expectantly, he said in a deliberately flat tone, “Well, it’s not too bad.”
“That’s good.” Although there was no compliment, she was still just as satisfied. Only then did she herself take her chopsticks and slowly eat up.
The hall was enveloped in bright lights.
Two people at the table, not at all cold, but on the contrary, there is a kind of inexplicable warmth in the two people quietly flowing.
Neal Williams found it a wise move to bring her back. Although he was away for the past few days, though, the perks of a meal, he at least got to enjoy.
When the meal was almost finished, the doorbell rang at first.
Andrea Jones looked up in shock and panic at Neal Williams, who she feared was Penny Brown, Lewis Brown, or anyone she knew well. There was no way she could explain such a picture.
“Keep eating yours, it’s Marshall Johnson.”
Neal Williams gave her a reassuring look and went to open the door.
Andrea Jones sighed in relief and stood up.
He bent over to change his shoes in the foyer and said, “Younger, it’s about time, let’s go.”
“Hmm.” Neal Williams responded, drew his napkin and wiped his lips gracefully, preparing to go back to his room to retrieve his luggage.
Marshall Johnson happened to come in at that moment and looked up to see Andrea Jones and he was shocked, “What’s Miss Jones doing here?”
“…” Andrea Jones didn’t know what to say to that, and just grabbed her chopsticks awkwardly.
Glancing at Andrea Jones, Neal Williams slapped Marshall Johnson on the side of the head, “Come and get your bags.”
“Oh, yeah, right away.” Marshall Johnson responded, nodding his head as a sort of greeting to Andrea Jones.
One turns around and quietly scowls at Neal Williams.
“Second young this is not considered a golden house to hide a woman ah? No wonder last time you cold love sister said non-leaf secretary persuasion also.”
Although his voice was low, Andrea Jones heard him.
Embarrassed, he lowered his head, too embarrassed to look up. The golden house to hide a woman? This situation, it seems like Marshall Johnson said so. It’s a real disaster!
This was followed by Marshall Johnson’s ‘ahh’ scream and Neal Williams’ rebuke, “Bullshit again and you’re out of here!”
Marshall Johnson aggrieved to cover his mouth, good enough to say another word.
…
Andrea Jones was still standing at the table, unmoving .
Neal Williams gave her a look and instructed Marshall Johnson, “Go wait outside, I’ll be right out.”
Marshall Johnson ‘hey’ a smile, a ‘needless to say will be aware of’ look, with the luggage hurried out, and received a warning look from Neal Williams.
“I’ll go first, and you stay here for the next two days. If a stranger knocks on the door, ignore it.” Neal Williams explained to Andrea Jones.
“Oh … good.” Andrea Jones slowly grinds out from the table.
Gazing at him with deep eyes, Neal Williams did not walk over, but simply instructed her, “Come over here later and lock the door.”
“Hmm.” She nodded again.
Neal Williams then said nothing more, only to turn around and walk out with sober steps.
She bit her lip and looked at the back, wanting to say something, but then she wanted to stop.
She waited until she reached the foyer, out of sight of Andrea Jones from where he was standing, before she subconsciously took another step after him.
“Neal Williams!” she called him by his first name.
Neal Williams had pushed open the door and was standing in the doorway when he heard her voice and he turned his head to look at her.
The sight, very deep, very deep, so deep that it made her heart skip a beat.
The words ‘Be safe’ made her choke down sensibly. Eventually, the words that fell were, “Thank you.”
“Thank me for what?”
“Thank you for lending me your house for a temporary stay.”
She smiled faintly.
In the light, the clean smile is quiet and charming. She has no idea how easy it is to stir up a man’s heart lake with her like this.
Neal Williams’ grip on the door handle tightened before he resisted the urge to step forward and kiss her hard.
Suddenly, he began to regret that when he booked the trip last week, he deliberately excluded her as his secretary.
What an annoying little thing!
“Well, go in.” Saying nothing more, he broke off and closed the door, leaving with sober steps.
Andrea Jones stood inside the door, looking at the closed doorway and biting her lip.
I don’t dare to think about the reason for the swirling feeling of loss in my heart; moreover, I don’t dare to think about why she didn’t have this feeling when Lewis Brown was on a business trip.
…
Early the next morning.
When Andrea Jones opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling, she was confused for a moment. It took her a moment to remember where she was and to get up and wash up.
Because of the MC, her body was weak and her whole body had no energy. She propped herself up and went to the kitchen to make breakfast, and her phone suddenly rang just at the moment.
It’s just after 7:00, who could be calling himself?
Hurrying back to her bedroom, she grabbed her phone and looked at the screen, and she had a moment of panic.
So early …
“Hello.” She spoke tentatively.
“Are you up?” Lewis Brown’s warm voice, coming from the other end.
“Well …” she paused slightly, “Why so early?”
“I’m already downstairs at your house, coming to pick you up for work. Is there a breakfast for me? It’s been a long time since I’ve tried my aunt’s cooking.” Lewis Brown’s tone was vaguely raised with anticipation.
Andrea Jones closed her eyes, hesitated, and chose to be good and honest.
She wasn’t good at lying, and she didn’t want to keep going round with a million lies.
“Lewis Brown, I’m sorry I’m not at home right now …” she spoke with difficulty, her heart tightening and aching vaguely.
After today’s words are said, perhaps, the end between them will only be separated.
Not without sadness …
“Arriving at the office so early?”
