Observing Wern’s disappointed expression, Eva was convinced that he held a romantic interest in Estelle. She decided to inform Cristofer about the situation. ‘Boss, it seems like someone is trying to woo Estelle away from you!’
Using Estelle’s email credentials, Cristofer had access to all of Hudson Group’s information, including the collaboration with Wern. His face flushed with anger as he pondered, ‘How dare you, Wern! Attempting to arrange a date with a business partner after just one meeting?!’
Throughout the entire afternoon, Cristofer wore a gloomy expression, causing concern for Vincent. He confided in Eva, saying, “Mr. Hans doesn’t seem to be in a good mood today.”
“Of course, he’s not in a good mood,” Eva rolled her eyes and said, “You were not there, so you can’t imagine it. But I went to meet the customer with Estelle. The man, called Wern, has a good figure. He’s like a model. Most importantly, he wanted to ask Estelle out.”
“What?” Vincent immediately raised his voice. He asked, “Didn’t you stop him? You know, earning two salaries means you need to do two jobs. Our life will be miserable if Mr. Hans becomes anxious and angry.”
After Vincent panicked, Eva quickly explained, “Can you let me finish my story first? Estelle naturally wouldn’t say yes to him so easily. She said she needed to pick up her children and politely refused him. But Wern looked quite disappointed, so I think maybe he will try again in the future. After all, we will cooperate with them for a long time.”
About half an hour later, Estelle received a message. She had just parked the car in the parking lot of Hudson Group because she wanted to take her bag before going to school. She casually picked up the phone after she heard the beep and saw that it was Cristofer.
She wasn’t surprised because she had exchanged a lot of messages with him lately, so she wanted to read the message. Before she unlocked the phone, it beeped again. Cristofer sent her another message. Then another one, followed by tens of other messages flying into her phone like snowflakes.
Recently, Cristofer would only send concise messages to make himself clear. It was the first time that he had sent her so many words. Estelle was astonished after she counted how many messages he sent her. ‘What’s going on? You’re not like this before, Cristofer.’ Estelle wondered.
When she read the first message, her face suddenly changed. With her lips twitching, she quickly read the second one, which showed detailed information about Wern. Cristofer had listed all of Wern’s study and work experiences. In fact, Wern had an excellent resume.
‘What’s this? A background check of the customer?’ But the following messages confused her because he sent her all the information about Wern’s ex-girlfriends, including their ages and professions.
According to the information, Wern seemed to be a typical playboy who had been extremely popular among women since he was in school. And there were hundreds of girls who wanted to date him. But Estelle wasn’t surprised when thinking about his handsome face and how he talked. Then she sent Cristofer a question mark and went inside the company.
After she had taken her things and returned to the parking lot, a tall woman walked directly toward her and asked, “Excuse me, are you, Ms. Hudson?”
“Yeah, I am.” Estelle nodded and looked confused because she didn’t know this woman.
The elegant young woman was gorgeous. Even Estelle was attracted by her big smiling eyes. Seeing that the woman didn’t say anything and only smiled at her, Estelle asked, “Is there anything I can do for you?”
“Yeah, I guess so,” The woman said with a soft, pleasant voice, “I came here for this earring. Is this your product? I really like it, so I want to meet the designer.”
Then she pulled her silky-smooth hair aside to show the earring on her tiny ear. It was a fuchsia drop earring with fringes as the pistil. Cristofer helped Estelle modify this design before it was put into production. Estelle’s face softened when she saw her work, and she also had a good impression of this elegant, well-behaved woman. “Thank you so much. I’m the designer,” Estelle replied with a smile.
Then the woman smiled, her eyes lit up, “Great. Do you have a minute? There is a wonderful restaurant nearby. If we go there now, we don’t need to wait for a table.”
She looked expectantly at Estelle and sounded joyous, giving Estelle no chance to refuse. After thinking for a few seconds, Estelle said, “Okay. But I need to make a phone call first.”
“Of course, please,” The woman urged her politely.
Nodding back, Estelle walked aside and called Eva, “Hi, where are you now? I have an emergency. Can you pick up the children for me?”
Eva asked curiously, “What’s the emergency?”
“Someone asked me to dinner.”
“Who? Is it a man or a woman? Wait. I’ll go there to protect you!” Eva immediately gathered herself together because she was afraid Estelle suddenly changed her mind and agreed to have dinner with Wern.
Estelle said quietly, “We had a customer suddenly visiting our company. No need to worry. She’s a young woman interested in our earrings, a great business opportunity. If I don’t seize it now, it might slip away.”
Eva replied with relief, “Alright, I’ll pick up the kids.”
After ending the call, Estelle apologized to the woman, “I’m sorry for the delay.”
The woman reassured her, “It’s fine, and it’s a good time to go now. Would you mind giving me a ride?”
Understanding the importance of customer relations, Estelle agreed immediately. During the ride to the restaurant, they discussed fashion trends and quickly found common ground, feeling like old friends.
Inside the restaurant, the woman complimented Estelle, saying, “Ms. Hudson, I’ve heard so much praise for your talent and beautiful designs. Meeting you today, I can see that your skills are even better than they say. It’s clear that only someone like you can create such exquisite designs.”
The elegant woman was instantly likable, especially to Estelle, as she was a potential customer. Estelle believed the woman’s praise was sincere and began discussing jewelry design. “What kind of accessories do you prefer? I have some knowledge about earrings.”
Touching her own earrings, the woman replied, “Actually, I became aware of your designs after that fashion show.”
Proudly nodding, Estelle thought, ‘Collaborating with Wallace was a wise choice. Both Wern and this lady sought me out because of that show. It was definitely worthwhile!’
The woman continued, “My boyfriend and I attended a party where one of my design-savvy friends couldn’t stop praising your work. Intrigued, I attended the fashion show later and became even more interested in your designs.”
