Estelle suddenly raised her head and asked, “What did you say?”
“Don’t be so emotional. I was just making a reasonable guess. A man suddenly appeared in your life, gained your trust, and then suddenly died by accident. And you don’t even know where he was buried. Don’t you think it’s weird? Did he try to deceive you for personal gain?”
Estelle was annoyed by his words and said, “Cristofer, what are you talking about? When I divorced you, I didn’t get any money from you. When I knew him, I couldn’t even afford the cost of my surgery. It could be said that I had nothing at that time. How might Mr. Mysterious want to deceive me in such a situation?”
“Estelle, calm down. I just suspect…”
“You don’t have the right to suspect him!” Estelle exclaimed. “Cristofer, you are not qualified to judge him.”
Feeling powerless, Cristofer gazed at her and offered a wistful smile. “Do you love him so much?”
“Absolutely.”
“Is your love for him greater than what you felt for me before?”
“Discussing our past now feels pointless. Regretting our past actions is also useless,” Estelle replied.
Cristofer remained silent, not uttering a word for a prolonged period.
Before long, the car came to a halt at the entrance of the Grand Hotel in Hadale City.
As Estelle opened the car door and prepared to exit, she caught the sound of Cristofer’s weary voice trailing behind her. “I understand.”
Without pausing or turning back, Estelle swiftly left the car. She hastened into the hotel, entered the elevator, and chose the floor where her accommodation was located.
She finally felt at ease when the elevator doors were gently shutting.
She turned her gaze toward the elevator’s mirror.
Three years had passed, and she appeared almost the same as before, except slightly thinner.
During that time, Mr. Mysterious had taken care of her well, causing her to put on some weight. But after receiving the news of his death, she refrained from eating and drinking for several days, resulting in a significant weight loss.
With the attentive support of Aurora, her weight gradually stabilized. However, now, she found herself thinner than she had been three years ago.
‘Yohan and Yvonne believe that you’ve gone to another planet to beat the bad guys, and they are still waiting for you to return.’
Contemplating about it, Estelle felt a wave of emotion, and tears formed in her eyes.
‘Sir, today I almost mistook Cristofer for you once more.’
‘It doesn’t matter if others are unaware of your existence in this world. What truly matters is that I knew you were real, and I will never forget you.’

After dropping Estelle at the hotel, Cristofer headed straight to his office instead of going home.
He had missed a day’s work because he had attended the concert with Mila.
Even though it was already past the regular work hours, most employees were still working away for an extended time.
Despite the exhaustion of working overtime, they were compensated with the highest overtime pay.
Cristofer was a more generous boss than most, but he was also a lot more demanding.
He knew many employees would grumble about his high standards, and some would even badmouth him behind his back.
Upon returning to the company, Cristofer found Eva asleep, slumped over her desk.
Observing this, he approached her desk and tapped on it.
“Hello, Mr. Hans!” Eva jolted awake immediately, quickly rising to her feet to greet him.
“How did things go while I was gone?” Cristofer inquired, pushing open his office door and stepping inside.
Eva then briefed him on the company’s matters, placing the documents requiring his signature and her handwritten work report in front of him.
Cristofer picked up the report and read it. After a few minutes, he pointed at one of the lines and asked, “Strange visitors?”
“Yes, there was an old man around seventy years old in a wheelchair who came to see you. A disabled middle-aged man accompanied him. The old man requested that you call him back upon your return,” Eva’s lips curled as she recounted.
“He was quite arrogant. He tried to enter your office and wait for you, but I blocked him. Despite his various threats, I stood firm in not allowing him access to your office. After all, I am your secretary, and it’s my duty to safeguard your privacy!” Her manner grew more animated as she spoke.
“Get out,” Cristofer stated impassively after a brief glance in her direction.
“What?”
“Get out.”
“Okay,” Eva said, trotted off to the CEO’s office, and returned to her seat.
As Eva left the office, Cristofer retrieved his phone from his pocket and called Nelson.
Soon, Nelson answered the phone. “Cristofer.”
“Hey, Uncle Nelson! Did you stop by the office today?”
“Yes.”
“What is it you wanted to see me about?”
Nelson snorted and said, “What do you think I went there for?”
With his phone in one hand, Cristofer flipped through the reports on the desk.
The company’s profit had increased significantly in the last quarter, and he was quite satisfied.
And although he was away today, everything went well inside the company.
“Uncle Nelson…”
Before Cristofer could say something, Nelson asked, “You have fallen in love with Miss Wilson?”
“No,” Cristofer replied at once.
“Then why did you go to the concert with her? You two were photographed and even hit the headlines,” Nelson snapped, sounding annoyed.
Cristofer rolled his eyes when he heard that. It was a good thing they were on the phone, so Nelson couldn’t see his expression.
“Uncle Nelson, I’ve broken up with Miss Wilson. We planned to hold our wedding today, but I canceled it. I didn’t give up my principles because of her.”
When Nelson heard his statement, he said with his tone softening a lot, “You two broke up? Then why did you go to the concert together?”
“She agreed to break up with me on condition that I go to the concert with her,” Cristofer answered casually.
“I get it,” Nelson said, nodding. “It’s good that you broke up, Cristofer. You already have a son and a daughter. You don’t need to get remarried. As for the cooperation with the gem supplier, you can marry someone else and then get a divorce. Haven’t you recently hired a new female secretary? She’s pretty average-looking and doesn’t seem like a very cunning person. So, I suggest you choose her. You can fire her after you reach a cooperation agreement with the gem supplier and then hire a male secretary.”
