“You… How can you take back on your promise? You explicitly said you’d marry me.”
“If you want compensation for emotional distress, kindly get in touch with my secretary. That’s all,” Cristofer concluded.
After saying that, Cristofer hung up the phone, threw it aside, and continued to sleep.
He kept thinking about the wonderful dream, hoping he could return to it. However, his effort was in vain.
With the help of sleeping pills, he had a good sleep. When he went to work on the second day, he felt energetic.
In contrast, Eva was out of spirits on this day. With heavy dark circles under her eyes, she yawned and said, “Mr. Hans, this is your schedule today…”
Before she finished her words, she yawned again.
Cristofer looked up at her and asked with a frown, “Are you so sleepy?”
With a drowsy look on her face, Eva answered, “Mr. Hans, I talked on the phone for the whole night!”
While engrossed in checking his schedule, Cristofer nonchalantly stated, “You’re free to chat on the phone as long as you’d like at night. However, make sure it doesn’t hinder your work efficiency, or you might face termination.”
Upon hearing this, Eva felt unfairly treated and expressed, “Mr. Hans, your fiancée, Miss Wilson, kept me up the entire night. She mentioned wanting compensation for emotional distress. I told her I’d relay the message to you, but then she claimed she wasn’t interested in money and that she wasn’t driven solely by greed. Her words left me baffled.”
“I don’t need the specifics of your conversation. Just inform me of her request,” Cristofer responded impassively.
“She’s requesting that you accompany her to a concert to commemorate your breakup.”
Cristofer lifted his head and questioned with confusion, “To commemorate our breakup?”
“Yes,” Eva affirmed with a nod. “She mentioned that she intends to make it public knowledge that you’re her ex-boyfriend. This way, she believes she can gain popularity in our city. She’s planning to venture into live-streaming commerce as an influencer, which she thinks will allow her to earn a substantial income independently. She believes this path is more favorable than marrying you.”
Cristofer found himself rendered speechless and grappling with a headache.
“Mr. Hans, I didn’t make any commitments to her. I merely informed her that I would convey her request to you today. So, are you considering attending the concert with her?”
As he massaged his throbbing temples, Cristofer responded, “I’ll need some time to think about it.”

Dusk perpetually carried a subtle undertone of sadness.
Having read through emails from numerous major hospitals across the country, Estelle couldn’t suppress a sigh.
The emails all contained the same message: there was still no compatible liver donor.
She had received such emails repeatedly.
Each time a fresh email arrived from a hospital, she’d be overwhelmed by anxiety, sometimes even hesitating to open it. Yet, after summoning her courage and clicking on an email, the contents inside consistently left her feeling disheartened.
‘Why is it so difficult to find a suitable liver donor in such a big country?’ Estelle thought, feeling upset.
Then she thought of the time when Yohan suffered from septicemia. At that time, Yohan was seriously ill, but at least she could save him by giving birth to a second child.
But at present, she couldn’t find any way to save Christina.
At this time, Rebecca called her to talk about Christina’s condition.
“Estelle, searching for a suitable donor is like looking for a needle in a haystack. How about I ask Cristofer for help? As long as he is willing to help, we will find a suitable donor sooner.”
“When is Howard’s concert?” Estelle diverted the topic by asking another question.
“Are you sure you will go to the concert?”
“Yes. I don’t want to waste the ticket that you spent a lot of money on.”
“His concert will be held on Sunday night at Hadale Stadium.”
“Got it.”
Fortunately, Estelle didn’t have much work to do recently, and she could spare time to go to the concert.
On Sunday evening, she finished all her work and took a taxi to the stadium.
It was still early when she arrived, and the concert hadn’t started yet.
Three years had passed, and Howard had become one of the most popular stars.
There was still more than an hour before the concert began, and the area outside the stadium was packed with his fans.
“Are you here for Howard’s concert too, Miss?” A girl wearing a headband approached and inquired.
“Yes,” Estelle confirmed with a nod.
“Great! Here you go!” The girl exclaimed, presenting her with a headband decorated with a cartoon depiction of Howard that appeared rather adorable.
Suddenly, a chorus of girls’ screams erupted in the background, brimming with excitement.
“Is Howard coming?”
“No. But that man is also extremely handsome!”
Howard’s fans were all young girls. Attracted by something else, many of them walked away in flocks, and there were fewer fans at the stadium gate.
‘There was still an hour before the concert began. I should have enough time,’ Estelle thought and then entered the stadium quickly.
Many staff were busy preparing for the concert, coming and going into the stadium.
Outside Howard’s lounge, the bodyguards guarding there were talking sternly to several girls wearing the same hairbands.
“Sir, we are just here to give Howard the letters we and the other fans wrote. We mean no offense. We’ll leave immediately after giving him the letters.”
“No way. I won’t let you go inside. Stay away from here!”
“Then could you give these letters to Howard for us? We won’t go inside.”
“Our job is to keep him safe, not to deliver letters for you. I’ll say it for the last time. Stay away from here, or don’t blame us for being rude!”
The bodyguards were tall and strong. When they spoke, they looked fierce, and their voices were gruff.
The girls were scared by them and almost cried. Finally, they had no choice but to put the large pile of letters at the door of the lounge.
Seeing the security guards glaring at them, the girls left at once.
“Hey, which department are you from? What brings you here?” Estelle heard someone inquire from behind her.
Being startled, Estelle immediately turned around and looked at her. “I…”
“Oh, I see. You are Howard’s new makeup artist, right? Why are you so late? The concert is about to begin. Go inside quickly. Howard has been waiting for you for a long time and lost his temper just now!”
Estelle was surprised by her words. She didn’t expect that Howard had become a demanding and bad-tempered person after being popular.
“You can’t find Howard’s lounge? Come on. I’ll take you there!” The woman said as she grabbed Estelle’s wrist and walked toward Howard’s lounge.
