Quinn holds Wiphy in his arms. “Willouphy, call me Dad again.”
With face turning red, he timidly says, “Dad…”, under Quinn and Yaffe’s intense gaze.
Obviously, his voice trembles.
Tears wells up in Yaffe’s eyes when she sees the situation.
Quinn kisses Wiphy hard, showing a happy yet a little silly smile on his face.
Wiphy’s father has always been putting on airs. But today seeing his father behave like this, he feels less ashamed and rolls his eyes sullenly.
Quinn holds Wiphy for a few minutes before he remembers he’s taking a bath.
So he gives him back to Yaffe and puts his arm around her soft waist, leaning towards her and kissing her forehead.
Then he goes back to the bathroom and continues to take his bath.
Yaffe sees him go into the bathroom as if in a trance. Then she touches where he kissed.
She can feel the warmth on her forehead.
Wiphy doesn’t realize Yaffe was abnormal. He removes the dirt from his feet somewhat distractedly.
Wiphy doesn’t expect he should speak.
He thinks he can’t speak, but he actually can do it.

On the morning of the Lunar New Year’s Day
Everyone in the He Family smiled as they know Wiphy can speak. Moreover, Old Madam He is so excited that she herself cooks dumplings and noodles and Roi Lin gives her a hand.
Yaffe also wants to help her, but her idea was strongly opposed by everyone.
So she has no choice but to play football with Wiphy secretly.
Although everyone wants to make Wiphy laugh, they suppress their desire for fear of being counterproductive.
Since they’ve been waiting for years for Wiphy to speak, they’re in no rush at this moment.
Marco is also excited after being told that Wiphy can speak.
He will come and visit Wiphy if he doesn’t spend the New Year Festival in other city. So he has to tell Quinn and Yaffe on the phone that they should pay much attention to his mood, recent changes and when he speaks again.
Quinn and Yaffe naturally understand that Wiphy can’t immediately speak like normal children. There will be a period of time for him to adjust to it.
Yaffe thinks the reason why Wiphy speaks is that he often plays interactive games recently.
People will unconsciously cheer in exciting and interactive games, whether they’re adults or children.
Recently, they have played football with Wiphy as long as they’re free. So he has more vivid expression and become more childish than before.
Yaffe is glad she bought the right present.
If she buys something less interactive, how long will it be before Wiphy is willing to speak?
After playing two games with him, she remembers that she was so excited that she forgot to call her parents to pay a New Year call last night. So when Quinn goes downstairs, she tells him to play football with Wiphy.
She goes to the yard and calls her parents.
The call buzzes for a while before it is accepted.
“Babe, Happy New Year!”
“Mum, Happy New Year! Do you find it comfortable to live in the hometown?”
“Yes. Your uncles, aunts, Fanice and her husband and children have come back to spend the New Year. The mood is very up here. How’s it going in the He family? Is everyone good to get along with?”
“Quinn’s grandparents and his fourth aunt Kristin are good. So is Aunt Sabrina. We treat one another like friends.”
“Good. Actually I wanted to call you last night. But I was afraid you would be disturbed and the in-laws would be suspicious of it.”
“Thanks, mum. By the way, I’ve got good news for you. Wiphy can speak. Although he just utters two words, he’s finally willing to speak.”
“Really? Oh! My little grandson finally speaks. It’s a big matter. It seems that something good will happen this year. You can’t force him to speak, you know? Take time.”
“I know. Everyone in the family thinks like that too.”
“Yeah! Yeah! Don’t put too much stress on him as children are very sensitive to it.”
Yaffe can’t help smiling happily as she’s listening to her mum’s chatter.
**
After living in the He Mansion for several days, Yaffe really gets used to the atmosphere of it.
She has completely fit in this family. Maybe it’s because Wiphy speaks or Sabrina inspires her to do that.
On the morning of the fourth day of the first lunar month, she drives to work in a relatively ordinary car among all in the garage of the He family.
Sabrina is also in her car.
Wiphy wants to go to the hospital too. But he’s too young. If he stays in the hospital for a long time, he’s likely to be infected with germs. As a result, pathological change will be caused.
So he’s not allowed to go.
He reluctantly sees her car drive away.
Sabrina sits shotgun, looking out of the window out of boredom.
Yaffe asks, “Miss, what’s your plan? To keep the baby or abort it?”
“Yaffe, could you put it mildly?”
“Since I ask it, there’s no need to do that. You must know that it’s a life. It’s different from the clothes and bags you bought in streets. If you plan to give birth to the baby, you have to take care of him for decades. Don’t be impulsive before you think twice.”
Sabrina turns her head and looks at Yaffe seriously. “I ask you that question again. Yaffe, if you were me, what would you do?”
“If in the past, I would choose to keep the baby. A child of my beloved man can serve as a reminder of the wonderful memories of he and I. After all, we can afford a child. But my thoughts have changed ever since I gave birth to Wiphy.”
“Oh? What do you mean?”
“It’s very hard to raise a child well. You think you give him enough warmth and care, but actually you never know what he’s thinking about; you also never know whether you give him enough material things and whether those are what they really want.” Yaffe pauses and then continues. “Maybe it’s affectedly unconventional to say this, but those are really what I’m thinking about for the time being. I often go round the department of gynaecology and obstetrics of the hospital where I work. I have seen many single women or girls are embarrassed when they’re in labor. They don’t have parents, relatives and lovers with them in the most difficult time. So they have to deal with things before and after delivery on their own.”
Sabrina doesn’t say any more words after hearing these words. She turns her head to go on looking at the scenery through the window.
Yaffe doesn’t say any word either.
It’s difficult for anyone to make a decision in this dilemma.
**
There is silence until the car drives to the parking lot of the hospital.
Yaffe takes a look at her watch and finds there’s still some time before work. So she says, “How about showing you around the department of gynaecology and obstetrics? A few women’s due dates are around the corner.”
Sabrina nods her head so slightly that it’s hard to tell.
They walk towards the department.
Some painful screams can be heard before they arrive at the floor where the department lies.
Sabrina is scared. So Yaffe takes her hand and pushes open the door in the exit passage way.
In the corridor, several doctors and nurses are pushing a lying-in woman who is letting out screams of pain, and running towards the delivery room.
A doctor sees Yaffe coming so he greets her. “Doctor Qin, Happy New Year. Are you coming for Doctor Yang? She’s still on holiday now.”
“I forgot her work schedule.” Yaffe says with a smile, “I’m not going to disturb you. I’m gonna show my friend around.”
“OK. Then we’re gonna go into the delivery room.”
