Chapter 71 I Seem Pregnant

Book:Crush on You Published:2024-5-1

The He family holds different views toward marriage against those who insist on a marriage between the families of similar backgrounds. However, there is a special requirement—the girl’s family should be happy and harmonious.
Girls grown in that kind of family might have some faults, but a least they have no evil thoughts or lack in due love.
The Qin family is a little inferior to the He family while it still belongs to the upper class. Yaffe Qin comes from a harmonious family and she is willing to do anyone a favor when they are in need. It is her personality that the He family really appreciates.
Having no idea how the He family will think about her, Yaffe stares at Quinn in vain with her arms holding several expensive gifts.
A smile appears on Quinn’s face, and he says, “They are all yours. No need bothering to ask me.”
Yaffe is speechless.

The New Year’s Feat begins at 6:00 pm. After serving all dishes, every servant receives a big red envelope and goes back home to celebrate the Spring Festival with their family.
Yaffe is being thick-skinned to receive lots of red envelopes at the dinner.
After dinner, Sabrina drags Yaffe out to have a walk in the He Mansion. Yaffe hasn’t taken a good look at the Mansion. While Wiphy behaves as usual, rushing into his room with plenty of lavish presents.
The He Mansion is exposed to the brightness formed by specially designed lights which are on during the whole night. There is a huge contrast between the brightness around the house and the darkness in the forest, which makes the Mansion more distinct.
Yaffe is ushered in a building which has an elevated position above the He Mansion.
Buildings in the He Mansion are relatively low, with an average of three floors, which facilitates the climbing.
The building built on the highest elevation is the only five-storey one. The extra two floors are meant to serve as viewing platforms.
Sabrina brings some milk and a variety of snack. Looking at Yaffe, she says, “I feel that you are familiar to me though I have never seen you before. There is no sense of strangeness between us. But I don’t know why.”
“I once saved Wiphy’s life. Maybe that’s the reason?” Yaffe responds.
“I am a liar if I deny it. But it’s more than that. I’ve heard of you before I came back home, which ensured me that we have something in common.”
“How nice you are! It comforts me with you at my back.” Yaffe passes a cup of hot coffee to her.
“Well, you can lean on my back as you will.” Sabrina grins.
She is much prettier than in the picture. Her eyes are bright and shining like stars; her nose, straight but feminine; her lips, exquisite; her neck, slender and beautiful.
A sense of admiration arises from Yaffe’s heart. Then she asks, “Still going aboard next year?”
“Not sure yet. I wanna do something at home.”
“That’s fine. Tell me when you are in need and I will be there.”
“Well, actually, there is one thing….”
“Come on”
“I seem pregnant.”
“What?” Yaffe is almost choked to death by milk.
Sabrina raises her eyebrows and talks to Yaffe peacefully, “You are not mistaken. I seem pregnant and want you to help assure it.”
“Oh, God! I am a surgeon, not a gynecologist.”
Sabrina rolls her eyes. Then she takes out a piece of diagnosis report from the coat and inquires, “Can you read this?”
Yaffe takes it over and has a look on it. The report is written in English.
Fortunately enough, foreign doctors write diagnosis reports clearly enough unlike those at home who write reports as if to puzzle patients is their top priority.
Yaffe reads it intently for a moment. Then, she says, “Pregnancy reaction confirmed. It’s lasted four weeks. Next test should be four weeks later.”
Sabrina grasps that piece of paper with an expression of anxiety.
Yaffe gazes at Sabrina and asks her, “What you gonna do?”
“I don’t know.”
An expression of understanding appears on Yaffe’s face.
It is exactly how women feel when they are pregnant before marriage.
The He family is relatively conservative. Quinn once mentioned that no one divorced in the recorded family history, which shows their caution when choosing a spouse.
Sabrina is brought up in this family. It is obvious that she must know the rule.
Yaffe is speechless because none of the words can express her thoughts.
So she accompanies Sabrina in silence, gazing at the surrounding scenery.
Sabrina’s eyes are fixed at somewhere. All of a sudden, she asks Yaffe, “Have you met Molly?”
“Yeah.”
“I have a nodding acquaintance with her. Not a terrible woman, neither smart nor stupid. And she treated Wiphy and my parents very well. It is a pity that she has been hindered by her family.”
“Your Quinn has ceased taking actions towards the Thrive Group, isn’t he?”
“I’m not sure. The business stuff is up to him and no one dare say a word. But I believe he has his own reason to crack down the Wen family.”
Sabrina is shocked by her coldness and calmness.
Is this the character of the descendant from upper-class family? She wonders.
Quinn and Sabrina are both so sophisticated when handling things that it seems they are indifferent and merciless.
Noticing that Yaffe is silent, Sabrina speaks, “Do you think I am too sensible?”
“I am afraid that you are right.”
Sabrina chuckles, “I think I can understand now why Wiphy trusts you and likes you so much.”
“Well?”
“You can give people a feeling of warmth. Although you are a rational and professional doctor, you make people feel warm and happy. Take me as an example, I am not a sociable person, but inclined to chat with you at the first sight we met.”
“You flatter me,” Yaffe giggles. She says, “to be honest, I always feel that I am in a dream and none of these is real though your brother and I have been married for a long time. However, the restrained marriage rings are tangible. You know that your brother is a considerate and thoughtful man. His tenderness really touches me. And most of my family have benefited from our marriage. But what can I contribute to him, to Wiphy or to your family?”
Sabrina gives her a meaningful look and says with a smile, “Yaffe, how about we be friends or sisters? I really appreciate what you have said. It is what I’ve been eager for since I was a little girl for I have no younger brothers or sisters.”
Yaffe looks at her speechlessly.
Sabrina continues, “Let me explain my point. It is reasonable if those words are spoken by a person who has brothers or sisters. It shows his or her parents have given him or her a lesson on how to share with and understand each other. Being the only daughter of your parents, to whom they offer their entire love, you still take others into consideration, which moves me a lot. Actually, you don’t have to worry about it. It is the best thing ever happened that you marry my brother and enter our family. The accident of my eldest brother and his wife hurts the family. Wiphy suffers from autism. Frankly speaking, before your marriage, our family has long been in a miserable state. And it’s because of you that the family becomes vigorous again. Although Wiphy doesn’t speak a lot, I have the faith that he will be much better with your help.”
