“Where do you usually make your cakes?” Sung asks, he knows he’s closer to the truth. “Oh, I used to make cakes in the small kitchen, no one stays there with me usually.” Lin replies. Sung shares a look to Zhuge, “Let’s go to check then.” Zhuge nods and asks Lin to come, “You come with us. We need to know what you put inside? I trust you for now that you are innocent, however, this may happen from your materials.” Lin nods then brings them to the small kitchen. Wendy and Zoe follow her behind.
“So here are all the materials I use, these are lotus root starch, flour, potato starch, Osmanthus powder and some eggs. That’s everything.” Lin places everything on the table and says. Zhuge uses his needle to test all of them, he shakes his head. “They all fine, non-poisoned. So weird…” Sung and everyone else gets confused. Zhuge even tests all the utensils she used. However, everything they see in the small kitchen is clean and safe! “But that’s all stuff here I use, I don’t understand.” Lin explains in agony. Suddenly, Zoe slaps her in front of everyone, screaming, “I don’t know what kind of trick you use. But you said you did everything all by yourself, which was clear enough, you were the one who put the poison! Why you did that? Why you poisoned my sister and me?” Zoe tries to control while she can’t at that point.
“Please, Miss Zoe, please trust me. I really don’t know!” Lin cries and explains hard, while no one wants to believe her. Zoe turns to Sung and asks him to put her in jail. Then she will say the truth! Sung thinks for a while and says, “You heard Zoe now, but I still wanna give you a chance, if you tell us the truth then we won’t put you there. You know how cruel there, aren’t you?!” Lin gets so scared that begs on the ground. “Please, I really don’t know anything about it! Please trust me!”
Sung yells to outside, “Guard, bring her in jail! She must learn a lesson!” A few minutes later, two guards walk in and try to bring Lin down. “Wait! Are you sure you have shown all the materials here?!” Wendy stops the guards. Lin sees some hope, she grabs Wendy’s leg, “Please Doctor Wen, I really don’t know anything.” Wendy checks her again with a soft voice, “Then tell me, are you sure you didn’t forget anything here?!” Lin nods constantly. “Then where is the sugar? Don’t you put any sugar in it?” Wendy asks. Lin notices her then climbs up fast, and walks to a shelf. She brings a small jar to them. “Yes, I did. I put sugar sometimes. Just normal white sugar.” Zhuge takes his needle out then puts in it, nothing happens. Then he goes to melt it by some hot water in a pot, suddenly, a white unfamiliar layer covers on the top of it. He puts the needle back then sighs, “It’s poisoned!!”
Sung raises his voice, “Tell me, where did you get those sugar?!” Lin bents down and says, “I got them in the storehouse before. Then one day, Princess Lacey said it’s quite complicated to take from there, she could tell her maid to bring to me. That’s why every time her maid, Sunset, always brings to me if I ask. I’m telling the truth, please trust me, your majesty.” Sung’s face turns to sullen, “Let’s go to the storehouse!” They come to storehouse then everything there is clean, non-poisoned. “Go to search Lacey!” Sung orders to San in a terrified voice.
Lacey has changed her place to the Cloud Palace, the one near Wendy’s two years ago. She is doing her stitching when they come in. “Oh, your majesty…” She welcomes him very calm, seems like she’s waiting for him already. Then she sees Zoe, a small trace of unexplainable expression crosses her face, too fast to be noticed. Sung doesn’t look at Lacey, he turns to the guards, “Check! Don’t miss anything!” Lacey seems shocked, she stands up then leans on a pillar, her soft small body seems fragile, like a willow in the strong wind. She stays there quietly and explains nothing.
Very soon, they find a pack of powder and hand to Zhuge, “It’s the Women’s heart.” Zhuge tastes it and answers. “Clap!!” Sung slaps Lacey all of a sudden, “Why you poisoned Doctor Wen?!” Lacey falls to the ground, she sneers then climbs up slowly, “Why I poisoned her?! Don’t you really know it?!” She stares at Sung with her misty eyes.
“Know what? Know how cruel and heartless you are?” Sung replies with his deadpan face. Lacey laughs, it’s an unpleasant laugh, she turns to Wendy and says, “Have you seen that? That’s the real cruel, Doctor! He used to torture all people he loved if there’s something happens. Like my sister a few years ago, do you know how she died? Then it’s me, and you will be the next!!” She stands up and walks around, her eyes look so blank. “Three years, I love him every single day, I care about him more since my sister who passed away. I am such a wonderful woman! I told myself he wouldn’t look at any other women in his life, and maybe he would turn back to me one day. Then I waited and waited… until the day you came, he falls in love with you now. I am a pure idiot, how could I believe his shit?! All those years I have spent with him, he just treats me like a shit!!” She laughs then walks to Sung, continues, “And about you, my majesty, you said you wouldn’t fall in love with anyone that time, but why you fall in love again with a Doctor?! You were the one who decided to marry me, and brought me in! And you were the one who put me in your cold golden jail now! Who is cruller, you or me?”
Wendy’s heart is heavy after Lacey’s unexpected speech. It’s her who broke into Lacey’s sweet life, then it’s HER who distinguished Lacey’s sweet life today! She is the cruelest one compare to them! Sung seems shocked and replied for a while, “Well, did you use any trick to make me marry you that time?” Lacey laughs out loud, “Hah, good answer, Sung! I did use a little trick to bring you to that small temple on that rainy day. While, if you didn’t like or love me you could just walk away. Why did you continue to stay by that time? You see, I’m not the one who pushed you to marry me!” Sung remains silent now, yes, it’s him who chose to stay and had sex with her that night in the small temple. It’s his fault. That’s why he brought Lacey in. He did like Lacey, perhaps, but not love! He just wanted to make Yasmin jealous. While, he did feel comfortable to stay with Lacey for some reasons. “Then you may just poison me, if you hate me that much. But why you ruin other’s life?” Sung replies quietly.
Lacey stands up straight, she smiles then walks closer to Sung, that familiar smile makes Sung heartbroken. She used to smile like that while they were dating. Sooner or later, that innocent smile has gone one day. “I used to hate you, Sung. I can’t stop thinking about how you loved me that time, and how you kissed me and hugged me, then abandoned me… I have thought of hundreds of ways to kill you. But it makes me agony, more than hating you! So I choose to ignore this feeling and imagine we are still in love… That’s the only way can calm me down.”
Wendy turns her face to another side, hiding her tears. She always feels guilty for her sister’s tragedy. If she didn’t show up then Sung might be nice to her. “Can we stop? I didn’t get poison, Sung. I didn’t… Let this go.” She pulls his clothes again and again, trying to make him calm and stop all of those shits happened. Sung considers for a long time, then replies firmly, “I said, I wouldn’t let anyone hurt you again! If she has that poison heart to you, or anyone else. She should know this bad behavior causes bad consequence!” Wendy whispers back, “No matter what she did, she was my sister before. My father and mother had lost Yasmin one time, I don’t want them to lose Lacey this time. I did owe her… honestly” Her words touch Sung’s heart deeply. Gazing at Lacey there, he did owe her and he remembered how sadness from Yasmin’s father’s eyes. If something happens again to those poor parents, they will die soon. Zoe comes up and persuades Sung, after she sees his doubtful expression. “Brother, why you think so long? She put that poison in my cakes, which means she tried to poison me either! How evil she is!”
