Zhuge watches her with disbelief, “I don’t think so, I have checked your wounds. It’s not that serious, and most of them were recovered. You wouldn’t die if you didn’t test on yourself overacted.” Wendy shakes her head, explains, “And you guys knew I was not Yasmin that time, right?”
“Yes, we confirmed after you passed away. Your parents came to tell us about you…” Zhuge replies after a while. “So, you mean the King and others all knew my story??” Wendy checks with surprise.
“You are correct. We all know.” Zhuge nods. Wendy keeps silent there, she feels touching inside. She thought no one would want to understand this astonishing fantasy! She would burn with those sticks as a witch! To her utter surprise, they all cared and understood her after she passed away. “I can stay here with him, you may catch some rest, Zhuge.” She speaks, eyes downcasts. Zhuge nods then walks away.
She sits near Sung, feeling stupid, she tried to her best to hide her real identity, however, no more than a month! Everyone knows her secret!
“I’m sorry, Sung, you suffered a lot all these years. I’m sorry.” She says, holding his hands tight, “it’s my fault that time, I shouldn’t make you worry. Now I totally understand you! How you felt that moment when you knew I tested on my body. My death, has nothing to do with you! I never want to see you punish yourself, ever!” She lies on his chest, apologizing, “I didn’t feel peace all these three years either. I worried about you every day. I came back for your legs. I promise you I will cure you!” She closes her eyes, enjoying his heart poundings and scent. While, Sung has wakened up, he heard everything. “So, if my legs were fine, then you wouldn’t be here?”
“My god, you woke up!” Wendy sits up, watching him with grace.
“I woke up while you came here, I just didn’t know how to face you.” Sung says with his weak voice. Wendy sees through him, he doesn’t feel familiar with her new looking, “I know you feel weird of my new looking, right? I don’t even know myself now, every day I see from the mirror. What a tragedy!” Sung shakes his head, “Not at all. No matter how you look, something from my deep heart, has never changed.”
Wendy looks back to him, deeply touched. Sung covers her eyes, “Please don’t look at me like that, if you wish to leave then don’t give me any chance! I can’t take this any longer.” Sung says. He misunderstood her when he saw she’s with Cooper. Maybe Coper suits her life more. He’s better for her!
His gesture hurts Wendy, she doesn’t want to leave at all, but she can’t control her life. She sighs and decides to keep the distance with him from now. In the meantime, Sung feels he’s correct, that she came back only for his legs. “Please take care of yourself, while I’m not here, sooner or later.” She says with her cold tone. Sung closes his eyes, no responding. There’s a long silence between them, during this cold harsh night.
“Wendy!” Sung speaks all of sudden. “Yes.” She replies. The strong wind opens the window, she walks to close them. “Are you going to leave, now?!” Sung opens his eyes and asks anxiously.
“No, I go to close the window.” Wendy knows he cares a lot about their relationship. Until she sits back to him, Sung’s eyes lock on her the whole time. “I won’t leave now, no worry. I must cure your legs then maybe Zoe.”
“Zoe?? Do you think you can cure her?!” Sung asks with a little expect. Wendy shakes her head, she doesn’t even see her yet. “If you can, then that’s good. I owe her too much.” Sung says.
“And, I believe Yasmin’s not the murder!” Wendy says with confidence. Sung doesn’t want to hear this, he pretends to cover his wound. “Do you feel pain??” Wendy checks, Sung sighs, “Does it matter to you?”
“How you knew Cooper? Did you meet him three years ago?” Sung can’t help to ask. “I will tell you anything you want to know.” Wendy says and tucks his sheet, keeping him warm, “I just need you to look after yourself.”
Sung moves his head to another side, “No, I don’t want to know anything.” He’s pissed again, Wendy thinks, same as before. She sighs loudly, and Sung hears. He feels pain inside, he used to imagine this magical moment when she came back, and how he would hug and took care of her. Whiles this moment has come, he’s lost. He can’t do anything but mad with her. Wendy takes a harmonica out from Cooper, from their world. She wants to make a song, called “The Mistake”. Under the empty white moonlight, she finishes the whole song on the bench.
“What’s the name of this song?” Sung turns and asks.
“It called “The Mistake”, your majesty.” She replies.
“Can you sing for me?” He orders, Wendy feels shy, “Well, I’m a bad singer.”
Sung sneers, “Why not? You have a lovely voice, then how are you gonna be a bad singer? If you don’t want to sing for me, that’s fine!” Wendy shakes her head, “Why you talk to me like that?”
“If you do care about me, then you will be back earlier, not now!” Sung can’t help to piss her again, with his childish character. Wendy can’t explain this, it’s too long. She turns to the moon and begins to sing, “You made me surprise and guilty, while you were quiet; the leaves from the end of autumn, the beginning of the winter, couldn’t even heal my soul; I sang my madrigals every night to the heartless moon, would you hear me my lover; Finally we met to each other, while we felt alone; why you were so cruel and harsh, to not listen to me still; I would rather fly away with the clouds, with all my heart will; I would love to cherish this agony moment, to recall my future pain; go hell or high water, we would love to know each other well.” Wendy sings with grief.
