The moment of Lacey left, Daisy falls to the ground, out of all release. She doesn’t cry, maybe Lacey will come back again. “Sister Daisy, are you alright?” All maids come to her and help her up. Then Daisy bursts into tears. “Don’t cry please. Our Princess will come back and stand out for you!” Everyone tries to comfort her.
Hearing this, Daisy stops crying immediately, “Please don’t tell our Princess what happens today! Our Majesty has been nice to her recently. I don’t want this disturb their relationship. Besides, it’s my fault this time, I shouldn’t stay on her bed and let her go. If Majesty knows this, he will get pissed by our Princess. No one tells her, please, okay?”
The other maids nod and sigh, “Even we don’t mention this, but we are sure Princess Lacey will tell on Majesty. So he will know this anyway.” Daisy sighs, “Exactly, she will tell on our Princess for sure. Poor princess. But still, don’t tell anyone that I was punished. It’s already a mess here.” One maid says, “But your face, the Princess will see it when she goes back.”
Daisy takes her handkerchief out and covers on her face, smiling, “Well, let’s say I get rubella! She won’t figure it out!” Everyone feels sympathy for her. Today she sacrificed herself for all of them! They go getting the medicines and puts on her face, at least, they must do something to thank her. It remains a lovely afternoon, in the Frangipani Palace.
Outside the town, Wendy and Chen buy something for Sunny then search for her address. About one hour, they find her place. Sunny’s house is in the Southeast of the town, in a very old slum. The houses here are made by simple wood, looks quite fragile and dangerous. They get shocked at the first time when they step in, they don’t know there’s a kind of place like this existed! Coincidentally, Sunny is out for taking some water. She sees Wendy and Chen standing in the middle of the slum, she’s very surprised! She still hates Wendy from last time in the palace, if Wendy didn’t being mean to her and Lacey, she wouldn’t kick out from there. For now she can talk to her like a normal person, cause she’s not working there anymore! “Wow, wow, look who’s here?!” Sunny says with despise. Chen goes up and tries to say something, cause it’s still a rude welcome.
“Hey, nice to see you again, Sunny! How are you? We are here just for meeting your father.” Wendy talks before Chen. Seeing she’s quite polite, Sunny doesn’t continue her rudeness. “If you feel comfortable with my poor house, then come in.” Wendy and Chen walk in, it is a poor house. It’s very small like seven or eight squares, with all clothes hanging up on the roof. One small table, three bamboo chairs, and one cabinet with immortal designs on, that’s everything. A small compartment on the left side, dividing by a faded curtain. “These clothes belong to others here. I’m working as a laundrywoman now.” Sunny says.
Wendy doesn’t respond, she feels sad for her, that’s it. Wendy and Chen walk towards the small room, the smell of the medicine and some stinky smells run from inside, which almost make Chen puke. “You may sit outside if you want.” Sunny realizes Chen’s face and says. She doesn’t smell anything, perhaps, she gets used to it…
Wendy asks Chen to give her a package, which she bought from the market, “I just bought some medicines and supplies for you and your family. Hope you like it.” Sunny feels surprised by Wendy’s good attitude and thinks she came here for something else, perhaps. Sunny speaks after a long silence, “You came here not for me, right?” She also knows Wendy came not for her father either. Because she doesn’t even know him.
As an experienced maid in the palace for long enough, she knows something. “I’m here for your father, as I said.” Wendy replies calmly. “Hah, please get to the point. I can do anything if you give me enough money.” Sunny sneers.
Wendy smiles and stares at her seriously, “I told you I’m here for your father. I want him to make something for me. I will pay him well.” Wendy never thought how Sunny has so many pointless thoughts. Sunny’s eyes open widely, “Why you must find my father? There are so many people who can make things on the street.”
Wendy replies, “The thing I want to make, it’s quite difficult, that’s why I’m not sure they can help me or not.” Sunny looks at her, her face seems more ease, “Well, my father can do it for you, if you pay us well.” Wendy laughs, “That’s great! Where is your father now? May I see him?”
“He’s out for something but will be back soon. I will go make you some tea, your Princess.” Sunny replies then goes into her flat. Suddenly an old woman’s voice runs out from inside, “Sunny…” Wendy hears that and tries to see what’s in there, but stops by Chen, “Wait, Princess, be careful always. You never know what kind disease they have.” But Wendy insists to go, “Should be fine. Or you wait here, I will go and check.” Chen knows Wendy never gets tired of exploring. She sighs and follows her behind.
It’s very dark inside, but still can be seen. A narrow bed, a small table with a small lamp and a clean bowl on, that’s everything for this tiny compartment. The bowl seems for medicine. Under the bed, a potty for pee and spittoon lie there. The mixture smells from the pee and the medicine in the room, really unexplained and unbearable. But Wendy feels fine. She walks closer to bed, an old woman who’s super lean and yellow skin lies there. She opens her eyes, tries to reach Wendy with her skinny bone hand, like a ghost! Wendy holds her hand and feels her pulse, her pulse is very weak. “Who are you?” The woman asks.
“How do you feel, old lady?” Wendy asks also. The old woman coughs a little then replies, “Are you a doctor? I’m almost dying anyway. We can’t afford a doctor, please leave.” Wendy doesn’t like to hear a patient saying that, she scolds her a little, “Please don’t say that! How do you feel, just let me know? I’m here to help you!” During that moment, Sunny walks in, “What are you doing here?” She asks with nervous. Chen replies, “Your mother just called you, that’s why the Princess came in for a check.”
“P… Princess?! What?! Hurry, Sunny, invite them out, it… It’s dirty here…” The old woman is too nervous to chock by her spit in the throat. Her face turns into purple. “Go take some warm water!” Wendy yells to Sunny who’s shocked outside. Soon, she brings the warm water back and tries to feed her mother. While Wendy grabs it and tries to feed her by herself. The old woman refuses first, she’s worried to make Wendy dirty. Then sooner or later, Wendy’s persistence touched her, she drinks the water from Wendy, sip after sip.
