Getting the plant, Wendy clutches Sung’s hand and on their way back. Passing through the snake area, she’s still having a lingering fear with those dangerous snakes. Sung smiles and walks in front, holding her warm hand gently. Both of them understand each other well from this adventure, the trip of death, they get chances to see the sparkling sides from each other. Sung has a big strong palm, covered with callus, which makes Wendy heartache and admired. Of course, these callus have formed by his training with the sword and China Kungfu; not by the hard works due to his royal identity. He looks cold and androcentrism, on the contrary, he is tough and warm-hearted.
Passing through the snakes, Sung’s face turns sternly, he smells the cruel thugs under the way off. He killed their dogs, the Tibetan mastiffs, they must wait for revenge on the way down. Thinking of this, Sung grabs her hand tight, and walks faster and faster. “We get plenty of time, your majesty. No need to rush.” Wendy says, feeling curious. “Where??” Sung asks, he looks around and gets serious.
“Listen, I can hear at least one hundred people breathing nearby.” Wendy replies. She can hear people breathing?! How’s that possible?! But she used to hear the dogs as before, then they came. So he definitely believes her this time!
“Let’s go!” Sung whispers to her, panting, he can’t deal with that many people now after he gets injured in the valley, even ten is too much for him. At that point, he only cares about Wendy, more than himself. However, it is too late… A vast group of people, thugs, step out from the bushes. Each of them seems to have strong figure and look dangerous, with weapons in their hand, like axes. They walk towards Wendy and Sung, covering them tight. One leader with blue rumbled clothes stepping out, he has six feet tall, strong figure with dark skin. A bloody thrilled glares gleam from his eyes. “Who are you?” Sung asks first, pushing Wendy behind, protecting her. The leader sneers, hands on his waist, “Did you kill my babies?”
Noticing he is talking about the dogs, Sung nods and replies calmly, “Yes, I did. But they attacked us first!” Hearing his words, all thugs burst into a laugh. Their gestures make Sung and Wendy confused. The leader raises his hand, stops laughing, the same as his men. “Well, they were dogs, animals, they made for protecting and attacking, it’s their nature! Why you took so serious of them? Perhaps, you are sort of animal too, hah?” The humiliation from him, makes Sung’s face turn to blue, he doesn’t know how to respond, he is not a good debater.
Wendy sees this, she emerges from behind, “This seems to make sense, about your words. But they all nonsense! Dogs attack people which are their nature, that’s true. On the contrary, if people get attacked, we must defend and protect ourselves, am I correct?? If we get bully by dogs, then we are not even than animals.” Everyone stares at her, especially the leader, “Wow, who is this smart lady! I like smart women! Let’s talk more in my base! Let’s go!” He gets closer to her, tries to take her away.
“Listen, you run as fast as you could, with the plant. All our people are waiting for us down!” Sung hisses to her, holding his long sword tight. He has no choice but ready to fight! To his surprise, Wendy refuses to run. “No, I won’t, your majesty! We must come back together, that’s what you said.”
Sung gets a bit annoyed, “Things have changed now! If we both die here, who will save Princess Zena?” Wendy shakes her head, determined by to leave, “I won’t go, without you!” The leader shares a glance to his men, they all run towards Wendy and Sung, with their axes! Seeing they approaching, Sung holds his sword up, searching the first target to kill! He must first execute one person, then the rest may get scared and won’t get closer. He jumps to two of them, who run in the front. He locks his sword onto them, in the twinkling of an eye, two thugs drop down dead with blood! The rest of them step back and get panic at the moment. “Now, run!!” Sung yells back to Wendy!
Wendy stares at him, restless and uneasy. She understands that her hand controls another life right now in the palace, but she can’t leave Sung here by himself, due to his weakness. He may die here alone, which is not what she expected. “No, I won’t leave!” She says with her headstrong. Sung gets pissed so bad, he pushes her away with big strength. “If you don’t go now, there won’t be any chance!” He screams to her with blue veins emerging on his face. He knows he will die here, that’s why he doesn’t want to bring her together. To his utter surprise, Wendy holds his hand, facing back to the thugs and saying, “We are a couple, don’t you forget! We must share the life and death together!”
Sung’s eyes get wet, now he realizes how much Wendy loves him and how much he loves her! He regrets what he has done to her as before. He promises to himself, that he will treat her the best if they can go back safely! That’s why he must save her this time, with no promises. He turns to her, looking into her eyes, sternly, “I said you go now! Ask our people to save me, I can handle them for a while! Now leave, please!”
“Really? You really can handle them for now?” Knowing he and backup plan, Wendy feels more security. She knows this may be a good way for both of them. She can run to the guards as fast as she could, since she has passed the snakes already. On the other side, the guards knew if they didn’t go down in two days, they would come up for them. She could meet them on the way perhaps. Looking she’s getting vacillated, Sung takes a ring out from his chest, then pushes her away at once again, yelling, “Go now! Don’t waste our time! Show this to them, they will help you!” Wendy nods, then runs her way down as fast as she could. About the thugs, the leader keeps some of them fighting here with Sung; the rest go chasing Wendy behind.
It is very strange, Wendy runs the whole way down without exhausted. Also, she runs faster than the thugs like the carriage losing its wheels, or the flying arrow from the bow. Peeking behind, more thugs begin to chase her, which makes her happy. Then it will be easier for Sung. At the same time, she worries about him so much. He has given her most of his internal energy already, how will he fight over there with his weak body? After a while, the thugs start to get tired, they never believe how a woman can run so fast without stopping?! That’s unbelievable. Maybe she knows some Kungfu? Anyway, their mission is to get her cause their boss adores her. They have no way out at this point.
Thirty minutes later, at last, Wendy sees the guards, coming up to find them. She recognizes the leader, Simon. She runs towards him immediately, “Hurry! Go saving the Majesty! He is in danger!”
Simon, who worries about Sung, that’s why he asked several people to go up with him first. He is very wise. Fist of all, he doesn’t trust Wendy, after she shows the ring from Sung, his face has changed. “Look, I’m not lying! He is in terrible danger. He gave me this to show you.” Wendy says in desperate.
“Yes, this from the Majesty! He urged us before, if someone showed this, that meant he would die!” Simon murmurs to himself. “What?! So he lied to me?!” Wendy’s mind gets blank. Then she runs back to Sung. Simon follows her up behind, he can’t put the Royal Princess into danger again!
“Such a foolish man, why he lied to me? Even he knew he would die, he remained thinking of saving me…” Wendy says to herself, crying. Her tears fall to the ground from her face. She doesn’t allow him to die like this. She thinks.
“Hey, Royal Princess! Please stop, I will take our people to rescue the Majesty!” Simon yells from behind, panting. But Wendy has made her mind, she doesn’t want to regret again with her man this life. She has made a mistake, is not listening to Sung before, following him to the mountain. Though he said, it’s way up dangerous! If he came along himself, he might not be in the trouble. If something happens to him this time, she will never forgive herself…
