Chapter 75 Feeding Granny

Book:t9 Published:2024-5-1

When Aimee Marshall finished talking, she shook her head, and walked towards the backyard with dishes in her hands, “For real, I need to send the lunch three times. The first time, Mrs. Caunter won’t eat so she knocked it off. The second time, she still won’t eat, and this time it’s Miss Stacy who knocks it over. I don’t even wanna think about what might happen this time. I haven’t even had lunch yet!”
Abigail put down her own lunch, and stood up to walk to Aimee.
“Why don’t you let me go.”
Aimee, who had her head hanging, was now much happier after hearing what Abigail said. Her eyes widened, she looked at Abigail hesitating, “You wanna go there?”
Abigail nodded her head determined, proving she meant what she said. Aimee looked as if she was just rescued, and handed the dishes over to Abigail, “That’s wonderful, Miss Abigail, you really saved me here. Thank you so much!”
Abigail smiled at her and accepted her thanks. She took the dishes and quickly walked towards Mrs. Caunter’s house.
“What the hell is this! This is totally just to punish me! Oh!” Abigail just arrived downstairs when she heard Stacy’s voice.
Abigail went upstairs, and saw that Stacy was walking back and forth in the room full of anger, and Mrs. Caunter was nowhere to be found.
“Miss Stacy.” Abigail bit her lip, standing in the door, and asked her, “May I come in to feed Granny?”
Stacy’s sharp eyes landed on Abigail, her expression was changing from calm to angry, and after a long time she said, “Come in.”
“Where is granny?” Abigail put down the tray with food, but couldn’t find Mrs. Caunter. Thinking back to what the maids just discussed about, Abigail got a little worried, did Stacy get too mad, and…
“Inside!” Stacy pointed towards the bedroom impatiently, and sat down beside the window.
“Granny?” Abigail called out, in the corner of the room she saw Mrs. Caunter rolled up. Abigail walked faster, and helped her to get up.
“Granny, what is wrong? Let’s eat a little!”
Mrs. Caunter’s eyes filled with tears, but she didn’t dare to cry. She was very cautious, and didn’t dare to move.
“Don’t be afraid, Miss Stacy is not mad. Let’s go and eat.” Abigail supported Mrs. Caunter, and she finally walked to the dining table, but still had her eyes on Stacy who was still by the window.
“Let’s eat a little, if you eat, Miss Stacy won’t be mad anymore.” Abigail was comforting her like a little kid, she filled the spoon and fed Mrs. Caunter bite by bite.
It didn’t take long before the whole bowl was empty.
When Stacy looked at them again, she was surprised by the empty dish, then she pointed at her grandma, and lowered her finger again, “What… Granny… really…” Stacy tried for a while but couldn’t finish her sentence, “Do you think I feed you poison? You scream and yell and even bite! Is she your family or am I? I really don’t get you.”
“Abigail.” Mrs. Caunter leaned forward, showing her fear to Stacy.
What was Joshua thinking? Mrs. Caunter was afraid of Stacy, and Stacy hated Mrs. Caunter, but he just had to put the two of them together, wasn’t that torture? Abigail shook her head, and patted on Mrs. Caunter’s shoulder to comfort her.
“Humph!” Stacy sat back to the window when she saw that her grandma was keeping distance from her, and didn’t want to talk to her anymore.
“Miss Stacy…” Abigail took a few moments to gather all of her courage to say, “Can I come to feed Granny in the future?”
When she said it, her body trembled, she wasn’t sure what answer she might get.
“Whatever!” Stacy shook her head, without even thinking much about it. Abigail though acted as if she just got the most precious gift, and her face was written with happiness.
Now, every morning, noon, and night, she went to the backyard regularly to accompany her to dinner and chat briefly. It was rare for Stacy to let go of this, to not bother and not interfere with her.
Mrs. Caunter was always happy when she saw her every day. Not only did she eat on time every day, her appetite gradually increased, and her face gradually shone.
It’s just that she suffered. In addition to cleaning the yard every day, this task was added to it. However, this task was always sweet, even if it was tiring, she was always happy in her heart.
After eating, she always talked with Mrs. Caunter for a few minutes, who looked at the tree outside the window and suddenly shouted, “Silvia, Silvia!”
“Silvia?” Abigail followed her gaze, and didn’t see anything. However, there were a mass of things hanging on the top of the poplar tree. Upon closer look, it was a small bird’s nest. “That’s a bird’s nest.” Abigail explained kindly.
“Silvia, Silvia.” Grandma pointed to the bird’s nest, making Abigail baffled for a while.
“Grandma means that Silvia used to climb trees and dig out bird nests for her.” Stacy rarely interjected. Seeing Abigail’s blank face, he explained kindly.
“Silvia is my sister. She is only one year older than me. She was not born of my parents, she was adopted.”
“Silvia is not, Silvia is not.” Grandma shook her head disapprovingly.
“Silvia came to our house when she was very young. Dad didn’t like her very much, saying that she was a bastard born by our mother with someone else.” Stacy ignored grandma’s retort, flicked her hair, the smile on her face full of irony. “Silvia was in our house, besides grandma, of course, and my brother, any other people, even the servants didn’t like her, and they bullied her, oh, this is the fate of a bastard!”
Abigail’s heart was cold and she touched her abdomen reflexively. “Bastard?” She asked as if she didn’t understand.
“Don’t you know, bastard? For example, if you are pregnant with my brother’s child, then it is a bastard!” Stacy sneered, and did not notice Abigail’s pale face.
“Silvia lived at home with the identity of a bastard. Had it not been for our grandmother’s insistence, she would have been thrown out by our father. My mother fought with my father all day, and my father even vented on Joshua. Every time he beat my brother to bruises. My mother didn’t even persuade, she laughed and shouted, ‘You must be punished by your Caunter family, and it’s best to kill all of your Caunter family!’
My mad father pulled Silvia over and said that he was going to kill the bastard, but my mother laughed more happily, a bunch of lunatics! ”
Stacy fell into the memory. From the corner of her lips, Abigail could see that this memory did not leave her much harm.
She is just stating a past that has nothing to do with herself.
“Joshua was once recognized as a bastard, but later he gradually looked like Daddy, and Daddy believed that Joshua belonged to him.” She even smiled indifferently, as if telling something interesting.
“Silvia has no such good luck. She looks like my mother. It’s really strange. How could a person who has no blood relationship with her look so much like her! It’s no wonder that father wanted to see her as the child of Mom with another man. The bastard, he would treat her the worst. Every time he beat her to the ground, she was also punished to kneel for a few days.”
“Grandma felt sorry for her, every time she quietly sent her something to eat.”
Stacy’s unintentional words solved Abigail’s long-standing mystery. She finally understood why Mrs. Caunter was so kind to her, and she had always recognized her as innocent.
She remembered that when she was kneeling in front of Michelle’s tomb that day, Mrs. Caunter had said many strange things to her. Thinking about it now, everything was no longer strange. She was used to thinking that those who kneel there must be Silvia who was being punished.
“You don’t know, the place where Silvia was often punished by my father to kneel was a large windowless house on the left hand side of the living room.” Stacy further solved her doubts. She knew that house, Michelle’s mourning hall was once set up there.
“It’s dark, without turning on the lights, Silvia screamed in fright every time, but she didn’t dare to come out. Grandma couldn’t stop Dad’s behavior, she could only visit her secretly.”
“Their relationship was very good, Silvia was very naughty, like a boy, thin and small, often climbing up the tree to dig out the bird’s nest to make grandma happy. Grandma also took pity on her and took special care of her. Mindful. It’s just a pity—”
Stretching the tone, her teasing eyes fell on Abigail, giving people a feeling of ill intentions. “She died, under a group of evil dogs. That day, a group of dogs who nobody knew where they came from surrounded her and bit her.”
“There was no one else in the house, only grandma and I and Silvia. They bit Silvia as if they smelled something, but they didn’t hurt others. Grandma couldn’t save her, and watched her within two or three minutes. She was torn to pieces. From that day on, grandma was crazy, scared and crazy!”
Stacy continued to laugh, laughing strangely. “You know, people who are not from the Caunter family, and not recognized by the Caunter family, can’t live! That’s how Silvia was.”
Abigail couldn’t imagine the tragic scene, and closed his eyes in fear.
“Abigail, be careful, there will never be a place for you in the Caunter’s house. I must repay Michelle’s debt!” She suddenly became hideous and warned Abigail between gritted teeth.
Abigail seemed to have received a major blow, and her body was trembling constantly throughout the afternoon, even though she was standing in the sun, but she could not feel any warmth. She even felt like she was immersed in ice water, and the cold sweat made her shiver.
Caressing her swollen abdomen, she put on large autumn clothes, the sign of pregnancy was not particularly obvious. But this time, she was extremely worried.
Her child will be a bastard, and the end of a bastard will be the same as Silvia’s! Abigail’s legs softened and squatted on the ground.
She is not worried about her safety, but is deeply worried about her child’s future life.
If she really wanted her child to live a life that is worse than death, bearing the name of the bastard, it is better not to have him at all! She put her arms around her abdomen, and the reluctance in her heart rose up. As a mother, how could she strangle her child, not to mention that she was living in her abdomen alive, and it didn’t forget to kick her heavily.
“Hey baby, what should I do?”
“What’s the matter?” Someone was asking, reaching out to her. Abigail was sweating coldly, raised a paper-white face, and saw Harry’s beautiful and confident face.
Her brows were gentle, and when she spoke to her, her tone was inexplicable temptation.
She subconsciously stretched out her little hand, and stood up with Harry’s help. Her blank eyes began to lose focus, her body swayed, and she almost fell down again.
“The sun is too hot, it must be a heatstroke, let’s go in and talk.” Harry took her directly into the empty living room. “Have a drink.”
A cup was handed in front of her, Abigail drank it like she hadn’t had water in days, feeling the coolness in her stomach, and her sanity finally recovered.
“Harry?” Stacy’s gloomy facial expression always appeared in front of her, and she cried out innocently.
Harry nodded and waved back all the bodyguards.
“Let’s talk.” She began, with one foot tilted up gracefully, hands clasped naturally at her knees. Shaking her head full of curly hair, today, she tied them into a ponytail. Two large earrings are unusually conspicuous, setting off the beautiful neck, revealing a sense of superiority.
