“It’s true… it was all me!” Abigail bit her teeth, she didn’t want to snitch on Stacy.
She told Stacy that she wouldn’t say anything, so she won’t. she would keep her word.
“Okay, then show me how you did it!” Joshua was madly angry facing this stubborn woman in front of him. What was she keeping from him? Who was she protecting?
“Was it Stacy? Or was it Annie? Or was it one of the maids who likes to bully you?” He was guessing their names one by one, making her tell him. But every time he said a name she only shook her head.
“Who was it!” Joshua pulled her skinny arm, trying to fix her so she couldn’t move.
“It hurts…” Abigail said in pain. Only god knew, her back felt as if there were uncountable insects feeding on her, and the arm that was being pulled right now hurt so much as if it was about to fall off.
“Oh, so you do feel pain?” Joshua threw her arm back, and got off her. “Tell me, who was it!”
“That is my business, you don’t need to worry about it!” She said stubbornly, for the first time not listening to him.
“You are my slave, shouldn’t I be the one to worry about your business?” He turned around, his sharp look was drilling into her body, making sure she knew who she was.
Abigail turned her head, and didn’t answer.
“Alright, I will find out myself.” He bit his teeth, and the next thing she heard was the door slamming.
Abigail was not fully awake yet, when she saw Joshua appear again, this time he was pulling Stacy into her room too.
“Joshua, what are you doing!” Stacy was trying hard to get rid of his grip, yelling at him loudly. When she saw Abigail, she understood what was going on.
“Ohhh, so this bitch has snitched on me? Good, this two faced bitch, I knew that you wouldn’t keep your word! And I was right!”
Abigail pulled herself up, and wrapped herself in a blanket. She looked at Joshua, who’s face was ice cold, then she looked at Stacy, who’s face was filled with hate.
Joshua was really good, in such a short time he managed to find the person who has done that to her.
Stacy’s high pitched voice was still ringing in her ears, what did she say? That she snitched? But she didn’t say anything!
“No…”
“You are an evil woman, what you got today was not enough for you, if I had known, I would’ve beaten you even more! Ah…” Stacy was cursing Abigail, her sentences were pouring out of her mouth, but then she started screaming, and the reason was Joshua who kicked her in the knees, making her kneel down.
“Joshua, you are beating me for this woman?” Stacy couldn’t believe her brother and looked at him shocked. “What did she make you eat? Did she poison you? She is Michelle’s murderer!”
Joshua’s body stiffened when she mentioned Michelle’s name, and looked furiously at his sister.
“Joshua, she is the one who killed Michelle, your wife, my sister in law, I just punished her for you!” Stacy yelled, still kneeling on the floor, her fingers pointed at Abigail.
Joshua acted as if he didn’t hear her, took out his phone and called a number, “Lambert go and find me the whip.”
Lambert came quickly, in his hand was the whip that Stacy used to beat up Abigail, on it was still her blood.
“Is that the whip you used?” Joshua raised it up high, and asked Abigail and Stacy.
Abigail didn’t say anything, she didn’t thing that Joshua would find out so fast that it was Stacy, and even find the whip that she used.
Stacy must be punished by her brother for the first time, she was still not afraid at all of him, and yelled, “Yes it is, so what? This women deserved it! I was punishing her for you, for Michelle…”
Bamm.
The sound of the whip hitting Stacy was so loud in the room that Abigail raised her head up high.
“Ahh!” Stacy screamed out loud, holding where the whip had hit her, her eyes were full of hurt, “You… you are beating me up for her!”
She was pointing at Abigail, her face full of hate and murderish thoughts. Her eyes were so big that she thought she wanted to eat her up with them.
“You evil woman, are you happy now!” Another hit interrupted her curses, Joshua’s hands were not having any mercy on her, and the whole room was filled by the echo.
Abigail turned her body, as if she could feel the pain on herself. She knew how it felt, and it was not good at all.
“Do you know now? The feeling of a whip landing on your body? If you cannot take it, why would you do this to anyone else?” Joshua was punishing his sister heartlessly, every single word was meant, and filled with disappointment towards Stacy.
“Lambert, help me!” Stacy was crying, both of the whips were on her arm, where now red lines were visible, and welling up. She tried to hide behind Lambert, hoping he could save her.
“Sir…” Lambert looked at Joshua, the little person behind him was shaking all over, if it wasn’t Joshua’s sister, he would never help her.
“Get outta here!” Joshua didn’t care at all, and demanded from Lambert coldly.
Lambert was pulled by Stacy on one side, and on the other side, he had to listen to Joshua’s demands, and he didn’t know what to do. He thought for a while before saying, “Sir, can we spare Miss Stacy for today, she was just too naive.”
“Naive? Is that a reason to have no manners? Didn’t I tell you, this woman you are not allowed to touch! Hm?”
Stacy who was still hiding behind Lambert was crying, and when she saw the way her brother was looking at her, she only cried harder, her whole body shaking.
“Nobody loves me, even my own brother hits me, I…”
Abigail suddenly realized that Stacy was actually a pitiful little girl, except for her family’s wealth, she had nothing else.
Her family raised her to a princess, and spoiled her to the way she is now, she had no good friends around, so she did all those bad things. She was pitiful, more pitiful than herself.
Abigail was only wrapped in a bedsheet, she couldn’t move too much, so she only sat on the bed awkwardly. Now that she saw Joshua not letting this go, she felt sorry for Stacy.
“Please… can you… stop?” Abigail gathered all of her courage, and said to him. She was always feeling ashamed when she was talking to Joshua.
Joshua looked at Abigail, for a whole minute!
She swallowed hard, and tried to say something while he was staring at her, she felt as if he was going to eat her any time. He had a complicated expression on his face, and she didn’t know how to define it.
She still decided to say what was on her mind, “She is not all wrong… I… I am the reason… why your most favorite person in the world… is gone now… this kind of hate… everyone would… have… and… you are related… you shouldn’t let this… affect your love towards… your sibling…”
It wasn’t a long speech, but somehow Abigail took a few minutes to finish. Her back was still in pain, and she was nervous too.
The room quietened down, even Stacy, who always had something to say against Abigail kept quiet.
After a long time, Joshua finally spoke, it was directed at Stacy.
“From tomorrow on, find her an English teacher, except for studying English, she is not allowed to go anywhere. Except for the US, all of the American and European countries are free of your choice, pick one, and I will send you there in three months.”
Lambert nodded his head, and left the room.
Stacy lost her rock, her whole body was now exposed to Joshua. She still was yelling at him, “Joshua, I don’t wanna go! You know I don’t care about studies, I don’t want to leave home! Why are you like this to me! Why!”
“It’s for your own good!” Joshua turned and didn’t even look at his sister again.
“All because you snitched on me! Are you happy now? Are you satisfied?” Stacy went to Abigail and said to her.
Abigail didn’t say anything and only shook her head.
“Miss, it was me.” Rowena came from no where, and said to Stacy honestly, then her gaze went to Abigail and said, “Mister Caunter asked for the doctor for you, he will arrive soon, you should prepare yourself.”
“You!” Stacy couldn’t believe Rowena, she stared at her, eyes filled with hate, “What did she pay you for you to sell me out?”
Rowena was calm as usual, she was always like that, even if the world would collapse, she wouldn’t show any emotion.
“Miss, she didn’t pay me anything. It was Mister who asked me about it and I answered him honestly.” Her words explained everything, yes, she was Joshua’s worker, of course she would answer him.
“Aren’t you afraid I will fire you?”
Stacy raised her chin, and said to Rowena, then she gestured at her in the air. Abigail’s eyes were unsmooth.
What if Rowena was fired because of this? Then she would have hurt another person. She was worried about her now.
But quickly, Rowena showed her that she was thinking too much. Her eyes followed the gesture that Stacy was making, then stared at her again. She took her gaze back. And said calmly but coldly, “If Miss Stacy thinks I don’t do my work properly, you can ask Mister Joshua to fire me anytime.”
“You…”
Rowena has already left the room, leaving Stacy angry standing.
“You are all on one team! All of you!” She yelled, and pointed at Abigail, her arms and hands still moving, her voice so high that it hurt her throat. Abigail was still confused when Stacy stormed out of her room.
When everything calmed down, nothing in the room would’ve told what had just happened, except for the whip that was laying on the ground. Abigail felt as if she just woke up from a bad dream, and was looking around.
When it was all over, she started feeling as if she was bathing in warm water, then sometimes she was in ice water, and back in warm one again.
Rowena was a fair person, making her feel that all warmth she had lost, but then what Joshua did made her see hope again. Stacy will show her her hate again, but, she wasn’t as scared of her anymore.
“Brenslin, you don’t have to worry about me, I am good now, very good. Just wait for me, we will meet again in three years. No, only two years, eight months, and thirteen days. And when I finish my life here, I will meet you, and live life with you.
And my child, your nephew, he will arrive in this world save, and grow old.
Yes, she saw hope, and she was smiling, tears running down her face.
Mom, Dad, you have to keep me safe, me and Brenslin, and your grandchild.”

Granny was still sleeping, and Abigail secretly started making a little shirt, with little sleeves, and a little collar. It was for her unborn child.
“Oh!” She said quietly, and her hand moved to her belly. She just felt something wonderful, a little kick in her stomach.
Her baby just moved!
