“Let me take a look.” Just as Annie was lifting up the pillow, Bill reached under quickly, and pulled out something shiny. Abigail saw it with her own eyes, a metallic object in his hand.
“Neck…”
“I told you the necklace won’t be in her room, but I do remember some guy called Jacky talking to me a few days ago.”
Annie screamed out of shock, when Bill interrupted her sentence. “Jacky” was just like a bomb that dropped in the room, and Annie took a few steps back.
“What’s up? Is it here?” Stacy went looking somewhere else, and came to join them with Rowena.
“No… I will search myself again.” Annie’s arrogant mood from before was suddenly vanished, and Abigail was totally confused. She didn’t know who that Jacky person was, but she noticed that Annie was scared by his name.
Abigail, who was saved by Bill, locked eyes with him, and she shook her head innocently, showing him, that she never took that necklace. She had no idea when it got into her room, under her pillow.
“I believe you.” Bill said to her in a low voice when they exited the room together.
“Why don’t we check your room?” Bill suggested to Annie.
Annie listened to him, and opened the door to her own room.
“Isn’t it this one?” Bill pulled it out from under her table, and showed to Annie, eyes blinking.
“Oh, right, I think I must have lost it myself.” Annie now looked like a balloon that had lost its air, she put her necklace back into the box, and looked at Bill questioning.
“You don’t know how I found it right? That is my specialty, when I get the time, you can treat me for some dinner, and I will tell you.” Bill said to her, and gave her his number, Annie nodded and took it from him.
“Bill, I wanna hear it too!” Stacy pulled Abigail away from him, and squeezed herself next to him.
“That… if Annie is okay with it, sure, why not!” Bill said, and let Annie answer that hard question for him. Annie’s face went green, and looked worse than ever.
“We will talk about it another time.” She replied.
The plan finished like that, and it looked like as if Bill only came over to save her, because he left as soon as it was over.
Annie couldn’t calm down though, so she went to a place where no one could find her, and called Jacky.
“Hello?” It was a different voice than Jacky’s, it sounded hoarse.
“Who… are you?” Annie asked carefully.
“You just saw me a few minutes ago and already forgot about me?” Bill said, but he was talking into a microphone. Annie couldn’t help but to shake all over. “So it was you who got rid of Jacky!”
“Of course!” Bill was in a really good mood, “I didn’t only catch him, but he also told me a huge secret!”
“What… what does that have to do with me.” Annie sounded scared, and she was sweating all over. What did Jacky say? What secret did Bill know?
She has done a lot of bad stuff through Jacky, if he told him everything, it would be enough to kill her 1000 times.
“He told me what he needed to tell me, and I suggest you to better be a nice lady now. If I ever catch you trying to drag Abigail under water again, I am not going to simply let it go!” He hung up the phone, and Annie dropped her hand.
Bill’s words let her relax for now, he only said that she should leave Abigail alone, but nothing else. Did that mean, that Bill was only trying to scare her, but Jacky didn’t really tell him anything?
Where was Jacky? He didn’t pick up his phone, so Annie couldn’t do anything else but to worry alone.
She thought for a while, and called a number. “Daddy, find out information about a guy called Jacky. What’s it for? Of course something important! Just find out for me, you don’t need to know more.”
Stacy was still more than just angry, she held it all back because Bill was there, but now that her loved one was gone, she could finally let her anger out on Abigail.
“You shameless woman!” Bill’s car just vanished from their property, and she already smacked across Abigail’s face.
“You…” Abigail took a few steps back when she was hit, thankfully there were furniture catching her.
She held her burning cheeks, until now she couldn’t understand why Joshua was so angry. In her innocent eyes were tears rolling, but she forced herself to swallow them back. But that only made Stacy more angry.
She took Abigail’s arm and pushed her hard, Abigail fell on the floor, and her cleaning tools that she was using fell on her body.
She held her stomach, worried about her baby in the belly.
“You are seducing my brother, and now you want my man too! Are you done living your life?” Stacy stood over her, her hands on her hips, and was looking down on Abigail who couldn’t defend herself.
“Miss…” Rowena couldn’t watch anymore and wanted to help.
Stacy shook off Rowena’s hand from her arm and said, “Don’t try to persuade me, if I don’t show it to this little rat today, she is going to do more stuff tomorrow! Nobody even think about holding me back, if anyone does, that you are taking it on with the whole Caunter family today!”
Rowena went quiet, and stood to the side, Stacy took a step towards Abigail and looked at her, then she raised her foot and kicked her!
Abigail reacted and tried to hide from her foot, but the tip of Stacy’s shoe hit her hard in the upper leg, it pained her so much that she almost went unconscious.
It was a hard kick, but thankfully she turned and it didn’t hit her in the belly.
Abigail didn’t even have the chance to breath yet when another kick was coming, Stacy had learned Taekwando before, so she knew how to put all of her energy into one kick.
Shit.
It felt as if Stacy was aiming for Abigail’s stomach.
“No!” Abigail didn’t have the time to hide this time, so she raised her arms and protected herself.
Pain!
She felt as if her hands were broken, and when Stacy took her foot back, there was blood running out of the hole, that her heels had made in Abigail’s hand.
The pain traveled from her hand up her arm, and it made her heart numb.
Another kick was coming towards her, and this time, Abigail could only use her right hand to hold off the kick.
Horrible pain!
Her left and right arms were all in pain, and it went all the way to her head. Now blood was running down from her hands, dripping on the floor, making a small pond of blood. It looked scary.
“What are you going to hold me off with now? Bitch!” Stacy wasn’t going to stop there, her furious anger made her want to kill Abigail right then.
Now Abigail had no hand to protect herself anymore. She sat there on the floor, her body numb, and she watched Stacy raise her foot for another kick, but she couldn’t move at all anymore.
Her child!
Both her hands covered her stomach, the blood was soaking into her dress, and spreading all over, suddenly her whole body was covered with it. The blood was soaked by her clothes, then dripping off to the floor again, making another pond of liquid.
“You are supposed to die!” The next kick was aimed to Abigail’s head.
Abigail thought this was going to be her death today, she closed her eyes, and held her hands tight on her belly.
“Stop it!” Stacy’s food didn’t hit her, and stopped about a few inches away from Abigail’s face. She didn’t want to bear Abigail, but her foot was held by a metal rope, so that she couldn’t finish her hit.
The line wasn’t even thicker than a millimeter, and if there wasn’t light reflecting on it, no one would ever see there was something.
There was only one person who was able to use something like that – Lambert.
Stacy who was so buried in her fighting instinct didn’t expect to be stopped like this, her face changed colors immediately.
“Lambert, what do you want!”
She screamed.
Lambert took his metal wire back with only a small gesture, and let her go from his freeze.
Lambert only needed to take one look at what was happening, and immediately saw in what shape Abigail was, even though his face didn’t show any emotion, but his eyes told that he was not happy with it.
“Miss Stacy, Sir has demanded for you not to hurt Miss Abigail.”
Stacy took her foot back, and looked at Abigail, telling her silently.
Abigail was covered in blood, she already felt numb from all the pain. Lambert was there to save her, and to save her baby, she could escape from death. Even thought she was hurting, but she managed to give Lambert a thankful look.
Lambert has already turned away.
Stacy didn’t want to reconcile, but she had no choice.
Stacy only had one enemy in this house, which was Lambert, he was the only one who was not afraid of her. He always did what he was told by Joshua, and Joshua was the only one to know what Lambert was up to.
Stacy was filled with anger, but she didn’t dare to let it out on Lambert, the icy coldness that was spreading from him scared her, except for her own brother, he was the only one in this house that she was afraid of.
Stacy had no where to direct her anger, when her sight landed on Rowena.
Yes, just then, she tried to help Abigail, and she even left for a few minutes.
“You snitched on me!”
Stacy’s face grimaced with anger, her eyes on Rowena.
Rowena only nodded her head, she also was one of Joshua’s people, and one with the most responsibilities in this house.
“Pf!” Stacy humped, she couldn’t do anything else.
Rowena’s courage was known, even if Joshua was there, she wouldn’t be afraid of him, leave alone Stacy.
“Miss, we are talking about this right now, and I think that you are wrong.”
That was Rowena, she was straight forward and honest, never talked around the topic, and that was what Joshua liked about her. Just for that, she successfully got herself to be the female butler of the house.
Rowena’s face was emotionless as usual, as if she couldn’t smile.
“Mr. Lambert, will you take Miss Abigail to the doctor?”
Abigail’s hands were still bleeding, her face was pale, and her lips already lost all colors, it was obvious that she wouldn’t make it for much longer.
Lambert nodded and walked towards Abigail.
“Let’s go.” He helped her up, and Lambert’s car quickly vanished from their property.
Rowena left as well, and Stacy stood in the living room, stomping her feet. Her eyes were full of hate, still watching the gate. When she was calm again, she started to feel pain in her ankle, and the blood was still on the floor of the living room, but if all this wasn’t there, no one would think of what just happened there.
“Abigail, I won’t let this go. You have to die, die, die!”
When Stacy was saying these three words, her face was twisted into a grimace, her sharp evil eyes could kill. The empty living room couldn’t even give her an echo. She didn’t get to her goal, and her hate was still there.
The doctor took care of Abigail’s wounds, and then sighed, saying that this was the first time he saw something as cruel.
Stacy’s heels almost went through her whole hand.
When the doctor was applying the medicine, it pained Abigail so much that she almost lost conscious, but she forced herself not to scream. The fact that she survived, that her baby survived, was the best news for her.
It was the nature of a mother, that she lost all of her pessimism, that she only wanted to take care of her baby, give birth to it!
So, when the painful treatment was over, she was even able to put on a smile on her face.
Even Lambert knitted his brows. What he couldn’t understand was not the cruelty of Stacy, but this woman in front of him, who was just tortured, but still smiled at him.
