I couldn’t believe the people that I saw in the sitting room. My dad and mom, Xavier, Jenna(my twenty year old sister), and Jake?
He didn’t know about my pregnancy yet, and this isn’t how I wanted him to find out. He would not be happy with me because I didn’t tell him I was pregnant, though we aren’t dating or anything.
“Techna!” I was engulfed into a bone crushing hug as my mother kissed my cheeks. “My baby, I missed you.” She cooed and still managed not to hit my bump. “Sorry about your child, baby. I am sorry.”
“I missed you too mom.” I said as she released me and the next person to hug me was my father, followed by my sister, Mac, Trevor, and then Xavier.
To my disappointment, Jake just stood there looking from my eyes to my baby bump, and I felt embarrassed that I had to pull down the sweater to cover it properly.
He slowly walked towards me as others interacted with each other, and I looked down. It was clear he knew I was pregnant. “Hum… can we talk in the kitchen?”
I nodded and followed him as he walked into the kitchen. “So… how are you?”
“I am okay. And you?” This was awkward.
He cleared his throat. “I am fine, I guess. So, you are pregnant, uh?” I knew it was all leading to this.
“Um… yeah.” I still managed to smile as I rubbed my stomach gently.
“So, who is the father?”
I didn’t know how he would feel if he knew it was Tyler, I didn’t think he hated Tyler, but he would still feel sad. “Techna?” I looked up.
“Uh, it’s Tyler.” I looked down not wanting to see his expression.
I heard him muttering some things under his breath. He was really upset. “I am your friend, you should have told me.”
“I know, and I am sorry.”
“It’s okay, as long as you and your baby is ok.” He smiled at me.
“Babies actually. I lost one though.” I frowned looking away.
“I am sorry for your loss. It’s ok.” He said and hugged me.
Will it ever be ok?
“Your parents want to see you, Techna.” Tyler said and my heart skipped a beat for a reason I don’t know.
We both turned around, Jake’s hand on my waist. “Okay, thanks.” With that, I walked out the kitchen with Jake, into the living room.
“Techna!” My mom came to my side. I rolled my eyes, this woman is too dramatic. “We have something to tell you, or ask, anyhow. ”
“Yes mother.”
“Hum, can Jenna stay with you until she finishes university here?”
“That’s okay with me, but it’s Tyler you should ask, he is the owner of this house.” I looked towards Tyler who was staring at me already. What is wrong with him though? Is my face looking bad or what?
“It’s okay by me, unless she doesn’t touch my cookies and cream ice cream.” He said chuckling.
“Yes! I get to leave with two hot men.” Jenna exclaimed fist bumping the air.
“Jenna, they are older than you. And you are not having a boyfriend until you get married.” My dad said and we all laughed.
Was this man serious?
“But it’s only three years, right? I am twenty.” She faced Tyler and he nodded. “You see.” She smiled.
“They might be taken, honey.” Mac said sending me a wink. What is she on about?
“But I am not taken, only Tyler is.” Troy said winking at her, and she blushed. I just smiled, it’s quite rare to see Jenna blush because of a guy.
“Oh please stop flirting in my living room, get a room” Tyler whined.
“Don’t you dare.” My dad said glaring at Troy who gulped. Oh, so he is afraid of my dad, that’s nice to see.
“So… hurry on to the dining.” Mac said taking Trevor to the table with her. “Brunch is ready!”
We all went to the dinning to join the others.
“Jenna, take it easy and calm down. The food is not running away.” My dad scolded. Jenna just ignored him and she devoured the food at her front.
“Stop eating like a pig, woman!” Mom shot a glare at Jenna, who just grinned back.
“Don’t stop, keep eating that way. I find it cute.” To everyone’s surprise, Troy said.
We looked at him in awe as Jenna blushed and Troy chuckled.
“Don’t mind him, he is lying to you.” My dad said.
“Hello, everyone. Can I join too?” We all turned to look at who came in and talked.
And we were shocked.
