I was discharged from the hospital and We went to my apartment to pack my clothes for the stay at my hometown. I told zay and Lilly to not come to the hospital because technically it saves their gas and besides i’m going to the apartment only.
Mom, dad and I hailed a cab and we took off. This is the first time my parents are seeing my apartment in person. They were always seen on video calls. Mom is so excited to see the apartment . Dad is keen on checking the neighbourhood because it is always the protective one between my parents.
By the time we reached my apartment, Eli’s car was already parked in the parking lot. I Am disappointed to not find omer’s car. I thought he would come to the hospital when I’m being discharged but he didn’t and he didn’t even come to the apartment. With a sigh I entered the apartment with my parents. Iam startled by the screams of my friends.
“supriiiiiiseeeeee!”
Lilly, zay and eli yelled and there are balloons and there is a banner with welcome home Scarlett and indeed this apartment became my home. Tears pooled in my eyes seeing them happy and cheerful.
“Thanks guys but you don’t have to do this” I said sniffing and wiping my cheeks.
“Awww scar don’t cry. This is not a big deal, we want to welcome you properly and we are happy that you are fine and recovering well” Lilly said hugging me.
“Yes scar, we are happy that you are back and done. So don’t be a cry baby, come and see we have your favourite chocolate chip cupcakes’ ‘ zay said, pulling me towards the kitchen’s counter.
I stuffed my mouth with cupcakes and we just stood there stuffing our mouths with yummy cupcakes that I totally forgot about my parents. Sheepishly I looked at my parents and they were standing there looking at us. They both had different expressions. Mom has tears in her eyes and smiles looking at us and dad has a relieved smile hugging mom and consoling her.
“I’m so happy that you have friends like Scarlett. They are truly good friends” mom said smiling.
” i am relieved now that they have by your side to protect you” dad said giving a small smile.
” I’ll always protect scar mr. Williams, not only Scarlett but I’ll protect Lilly and red too” Eli said bulging his biceps.
“Stop it Blondie, no one needs your protection. We are capable of protecting ourselves and you are still a kid so stop pretending to be a man” zay said smirking.
” I’ll show you how much of a man I am ,” Eli said, making his voice deep. Zay got flustered hearing Eli’s response and this made him form a smirk on Eli’s face.
“Stop it you guys. You both are literally kids who don’t miss a chance to fight each other” Lilly scolded them shutting them up.
Mom and dad had amused smiles on their faces seeing my friends bickering.
“Princess we have to leave in an hour go and pack your clothes” dad said making me suddenly sad. Omer didn’t show up nor called. I masked my expression and went to my room to pack my bag.
Zay enters my room when I’m in the middle of packing. ” don’t be sad scar, probably omer is busy in his meetings maybe that’s why he didn’t came”.
” I’m okay zay and I know how his schedule is and I’m not sad and it’s fine. It’s not like we are dating” I said covering my face with my hair hiding my hurt from zay. I don’t want to seem weak or clingy.
Zay sighed and helped me pack the remaining things in my bag.
Dad loaded my bag in the taxi and took their seats in it. I hugged Lilly, zay and eli before entering the taxi. I waved them one last time before adjusting myself properly in the seat.
I wanted to see omer before going but I didn’t know how to. It’s not like I am going forever but still it would have made me somewhat relaxed seeing him. I don’t know when I will come back. It may take one week or two weeks. Sighing I closed my eyes.

Entire the flight and ride home back I sat silent, just nodding to my parents whenever they included me in their conversation but most of the time they leave to my thoughts. I’m not in the mood to talk, I just want to go home and be alone. It’s not like I don’t want to be here, it’s just me not meeting omer is making me this way.
Breathe Scarlett, just enjoy your stay with your parents and siblings. Don’t make them sad being sad. I pep talked myself before getting out of the taxi.
Suddenly I am crushed by two bodies hugging me tight, making me wince a little. “Guys easy, she is hurt and you two are crushing her” mom said, removing Nathan and Julia from me.
“Oppsss sorry sis I forgot” Nathan said, getting flustered.
” I’m sorry scar, I’m just happy that you are back,” Julia said grinning ear to ear.
“Its okay guys, i am fine now and It didn’t hurt much so all okay” i said ruffling their hair.
” ugh stop Scarlett we are not babies anymore” Nathan grunted while going inside our home.
” yeah but still you are my babies” I said making baby sounds.
“Ahhh no scar, we are grown ups now” Julia said, stomping her feet going inside behind Nathan.
Mom, dad and I laughed at their sulking faces and disagreement.
I entered inside our home. It is still the same with warmth and the smell of roses. Nothing changed, same decor, Same furniture, same everything. It’s not like I have gone for a long time. It’s just been half a year.
“Go freshen up and take a nap sweetie. You must be tired, I’ll wake you up when the dinner is ready” mom said, caressing my cheek and smiling with warmth in her eyes. I missed this, missed my moms touch.
“Okay mommy I’ll go” I said and went upstairs to my room.
My room is the same as I left it the way it is now. My bag is already in the room, I took out my clothes and toiletries and went to my bathroom.
After showering and putting on my dress, I slipped under my covers. Ahhh I missed being in bed. Hospital beds are too hard to sleep. I checked my phone for the one last to see if I got any calls or messages from omer but to my disappointment I got none.
I got messages from Lilly, zay and eli asking me whether I reached safely or not. I replied back to them that I reached safely and now I’m taking a nap and I informed them that I’ll call them after getting up from the nap.
I closed my eyes shutting all the thoughts from my head welcoming today’s tiredness took over me and pulled me towards deep slumberless sleep.
