Omer’s pov:
Seeing her smile and peacefulness made me relax and a smile automatically curved on my lips. It felt like I have been in a nightmare all these days seeing her fighting for her life all beaten and bruised. I never thought that someone will become this important to me in this little time.
I thought that I would keep Scarlett away from me because I can’t pull her in to my darkness but now i realise that if she will not be in my life then my darkness will suck me in to its pit where there is no way out and for the first time in my life that I got the hope that there will be sunshine and hope in my life too.
Currently Scarlett Is sleeping in my arms and she made me promise that I have to be here till she wakes up and I have no problem in waiting for her. I will happily wait for her for maybe a lifetime.
I slowly patted her soft brown hair, she is looking so peaceful sleeping and snoring softly. I will always protect her no matter what. I felt really guilty that I didn’t protect her before. I shouldn’t have left her alone. Iam regretting the choice I made that day. Iam angry at myself more than at that person who caused this.
I just missed her if not for the trolley I would have caught her. She may be a woman but i’m not going to show any mercy on her. She is pure evil and what she did to Scarlett mercilessly made me stop looking at her like a woman.
I have alerted cops and detectives to find her and pull her out from the rat house she is hiding in.
Absentmindedly my arms tightened around Scarlett and this made her groan and slowly opened her eyes. It took sometime to adjust her eyes and a cute little frown made way on to her forehead.
“Hey, are you feeling alright?”
“Ummm” she looked at me and suddenly her cheeks got red. She is blushing due to our closeness and she is looking cute with her blush.
“I asked, are you okay? Any pain or distress?”
“No, I am good. Just some soreness” she said slightly wiggling in my arms. I know she is embarrassed and wants to move away but the position we are in is making me not let her go. But I don’t want to make her more embarrassed so I removed my arms and stood in front of her.
“Good, do you want something to eat?” I asked her to wait for her answer. I saw her disappointment when I moved away from her but she quickly masked it and told me to bring her some soup.
” okay I’ll bring you some hot soup but until then watch something to pass the time” i said while switching on the tv and handed her the remote.
” Thank you omer for everything”.
I gave her a small smile and left the room to bring the soup. My phone buzzed in my coat pocket, I removed it from the pocket to check the caller id. It is one of the detectives I hired to find the attacker. My face suddenly got hard and I answered the call.
“Hello”
“Hello, Mr. Yousuf it is a bad news”
” what is it”
” I checked the cctv footages of miss Williams’s neighbourhood and I found a black suv following her before the attack and I got the slight features of the owner of the car from the video”
“What? Scarlett is being followed before the attack?” I clenched my fists tightly with anger knowing that the attack is intentional.
“Who is the person in the car, David?” I asked, grinding my teeth.
“The person’s description matches with the woman from the office’s video sir” He said
” Okay and I want you to bring her to me no matter what David” I barked into the phone making clear to him that the next phone call will be to tell that she found her and bring her to me.
“Okay sir, got it”
I ended the call, I needed to cool off if not I am going to kill someone. I went outside to feel the fresh air to cool me down. I don’t want Scarlett to know anything about it and stress herself. I went to a restaurant near the hospital and ordered two chicken soups.
I have to hire bodyguards near Scarlett’s door and my men are already scattered around the hospital premises without being suspicious. Being rich means being at risk , that’s why I hired men to protect me and my family. Now Scarlett needs protection too.
I masked my anger and discomfort before entering the room. Scarlett is distracted by the moving playing in the tv that she didn’t hear me entering.
“Hey”
” Ahhh! You scared me omer, you would have made some noise before entering and not scaring me” she said with wide eyes holding her heart.
“Iam sorry, I knocked before entering but you didn’t answered, I got worried that maybe you fainted again that’s why i entered” I said worried. Her eyes softened and a small smile played on her lips.
“Umm sorry, I just got into the movie that I didn’t hear your knock” she muttered embarrassed with red ears and cheeks.
” it’s okay, no problem. Let’s eat first” I said adjusting her bed for her to sit and eat.
we started eating silently, enjoying each other’s company and peacefulness. I readjusted the bed after eating and tucked her in.
“Good night, sleep well. I will be here if you want anything just call my name, okay” I said while pointing to the couch in the corner.
” Okay, good night and you sleep well too and thank you for staying,” she said, yawning and smiling softly.
” No problem Scarlett I will always be there for you whenever you need me” I said mirroring her smile.
I turned around to go to the couch but suddenly I felt a tug on my hand. I turned around to see a sleepy Scarlett looking worried with a frown.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Why were you stressed and angry earlier?” she asked, referring to when I came to see her after seeing the attacker in the hospital.
” Nothing, it’s just something about the project which is going on. Don’t worry just go to sleep okay”. She nodded her head suspiciously not believing my words. I don’t want to stress her more telling her everything.
I made myself comfortable on the couch and closed my eyes to get some sleep before the chaos waiting for me tomorrow.
