Book:The Ultimate Husband Published:2024-5-1

“What? The Group is in the dire situation? Clark, you told us the day before yesterday that the shareholders’ dividend is going to rise. Are you lying to us?” A shareholder who rarely asked about company affairs hurried to ask in panic.
“The stock market has collapsed? The channel vendors have cancelled their contracts? In this way, how can we sell all the goods we’ve stocked up?” A shareholder in charge of the jewelry and jade raw materials factory asked in panic.
Another female shareholder couldn’t sit still anymore. It was related to her own interests. She ignored Connor and Clark’s dignity and asked, “Connor and Clark, what’s going on with you? You are in charge of the group. Now that there’s such a big problem, aren’t you going to give us a proper explanation?”
Connor’s face was pale. He knew that he must have offended someone, which almost caused the Mcconnell Jewelry Group’s bankruptcy.
Connor looked at Clark and said, “Clark, do you have any solutions? The key problem now is the joint sanctions of the entire industry. Obviously, someone is targeting our group.”
Clark was also at a loss as well.
“Right now, we should figure out who are manipulating all of this. Let’s see if there is any room for salvation,” Clark said helplessly.
They had no idea at all about whom they had offended.
Who were so capable to bring the Mcconnell Group to the brink of bankruptcy within a day?
Seeing that even the two leaders were helpless, others became even more restless. The shareholders were all discussing and arguing.
Someone knocked.
At this time, the secretary wearing glasses entered the meeting hall again. She looked urgent.
“Vice President, someone just called. It’s Secretary Davon from the boss of Cameron Group of Manley. He wants to talk to you about the Mcconnell Group,” The secretary said seriously.
“Looking for me?” Clark looked puzzled.
Everyone had puzzled expressions. Shouldn’t they first look for Connor as he was the executive director?
How did they want to talk to Clark? Could it be?
Everyone present was smart. They all stared at Clark with suspicion.
“Clark, do you have something to do with this? Did you offend the Cameron Group of Manley?” Connor also looked at Clark with a cold face.
What a joke. How could the Mcconnell Group trying to battle with a power like the Cameron Group of Manley?
With just one sentence from them, the Mcconnell Group would go bankrupt!
“I… How could I?” Clark hurried to prove his innocence.
“Is that so? We’ll figure it out. Answer the phone first. Open the speakerphone and let’s see what Cameron Group of Manley will say,” Connor said coldly.
Although Connor was the executive director of the Mcconnell Group, his property was separate from Clark’s.
Each held 30% of the Mcconnell Group’s shares.
If it were because of Clark that Connor would suffer, Connor wouldn’t let him go even if they were brothers!
Clark was under tremendous pressure. In front of all the shareholders, he answered the call from his secretary.
“Are you Clark?” On the other end of the phone, Secretary Davon’s voice was very indifferent.
“Yes. Hello, Secretary Davon,” Clark said politely.
“An hour later, we will convene an enlarged meeting. Call all staff of management in the Mcconnell Group. Our Cameron Group will come over to discuss the acquisition of your company. Don’t forget to invite your son, Dylan,” Secretary Davon said indifferently.
“Sure, okay!” Clark agreed readily, not daring to refuse.
Secretary Davon hung up the phone.
Clark looked livid. Now his son Dylan was involved. He had the feeling that something bad was going on.
All the shareholders present looked at Clark with hostility and suspicion.
“It’s urgent. Gather all the management of the company. Wait for the people from the Camerons to come over,” Connor said seriously.
In less than half an hour, the Mcconnell Group had gathered all management staff. Over 200 people had gathered in the large conference hall.
Connor and Clark waited at the door.
Three hours later…
The atmosphere in the meeting hall was very oppressive. Everyone was waiting anxiously.
After two hours of arguments, the quarrels had no avail.
Now, it was clear that the Cameron Group of Manley had given them enough power to make all of them nervous for two more hours.
Even Connor and Clark, who were in power, were anxiously walking around at the entrance, waiting for the Cameron Group.
In fact, they didn’t even dare to make a phone call to ask them, fearing that they would offend the Cameron Group…
“Connor, shall we call them? Are the people from the Camerons coming over today?” A shareholder really couldn’t sit still. This was too painful.
“Let’s call it a day today. We can have a meeting when the Camerons arrive,” Rey, Connor’s son-in-law, asked tentatively. Rey couldn’t sit still either.
“We have to wait. Our destiny depends on the Cameron Group,” Connor said seriously.
“Dad, what’s going on? Aren’t the people from the Cameron Group coming?” Dylan also questioned. He didn’t know why Secretary Davon of the Cameron Group had asked him to be present, even though he was also the general manager of the Mcconnell Group’s branch.
“Why is the Camerons of Manley so arrogant? Two hundred people from our Mcconnells are waiting for a secretary of theirs?” Dylan said with dissatisfaction.
“You idiot, shut up!” Clark scolded coldly, “You know nothing. Do you know what the ‘Cameron Group’ means? You do nothing but cause trouble for me. I am wondering if you are the trouble-maker this time!”
The atmosphere was once again depressed. Everyone present was suffering.
Although the air-conditioning was working in the meeting hall, many management staff and shareholders had sweat on their faces.
At this time, outside the conference hall, a young man walked in with his business team and two lawyers.
“Greetings. Let me introduce myself. I am Jeffery Walter, in charge of the Cameron Group’s acquisition of the Mcconnell Group,” Secretary Davon said with a serious expression.
“At the same time, I am also the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Mcconnell Jewelry Group. I am in charge of all the affairs of Mcconnell Jewelry Group on behalf of President Cameron.”
As he spoke, Secretary Davon took the seat belonging to the chairperson of the board of directors.
Ever since Bernard passed away, the position of Chief Executive Officer had been vacant. Even Connor and Clark, who were in charge of the Mcconnells had assumed them of Executive Director.
“This!”
The Mcconnells present were surprised.
However, they were afraid of the prestige of the Cameron Group of Manley. As their own interests were involved, none of them dared to be against him.
Secretary Davon smiled and looked at the expressions of the Mcconnells. “You probably don’t understand the situation very well,” he said.
“Right now, I have a 55% stake of the Mcconnell Jewelry Group, plus the creditors’ rights of 20 jewelry factories and 30 jewelry flagship stores under the group’s title.”
“I think that no one will object to my taking the position of CEO, right?”
Secretary Davon’s words were so forceful that everyone present fell silent.
“Here are the documents regarding this acquisition plan. Everyone, take a good look.”
As he spoke, Secretary Davon asked the team attendants to distribute the documents to the shareholders.
All the shareholders looked solemn, not knowing what they were thinking.
“Who is Dylan Mcconnell?” Suddenly, Secretary Davon asked indifferently.
“I am. I wonder why President Davon is looking for me.” Dylan said honestly with a flattering expression.
“Who are you? It’s not your turn to speak.” Secretary Davon looked coldly at Dylan and threw a seal at him.
The seal hit Dylan!
The seal landed on Dylan’s stomach. He felt as if he had been heavily knocked on by a hammer. His stomach tumbled and he vomited. He lay on the conference table and spat out food debris on the table.
Dylan felt resentful. He felt wronged and humiliated. He stared at Secretary Davon with resentment, but he didn’t dare to say any rebuttal.
He didn’t understand why this the Secretary Davon was targeting him for no reason!
“Everyone, I wanted to talk about serious matters. However, the venue seems to need to be cleaned up,” Secretary Davon said indifferently.
“Alright, President Davon, I’ll ask others to clean up right now,” Clark said with a flattering expression.
Although he really wanted to help his son, he knew that the situation was serious. He quickly showed his obedience.
Secretary Davon sneered, “There should always be rules in the company. Whoever makes a mistake should be responsible for it.”
Clark smiled and turned around to curse Dylan, “Silly son, you dare to make a fuss in front of President Davon. Hurry up to clean up. You’re embarrassing me!”
“Do you want me to emphasize it again?” Secretary Davon said indifferently and looked at Clark with a fierce gaze, “Make the stuff go back to the place where they were in. I want him to lick the table clean and eat it back!”
