There were only sounds of rain pattering on leaves in the dark rainforest. Under the cover of rain and the dark, a team of drug dealers was quietly crossing the border. Lightning slashed across the sky and revealed the stunning and cruel face of Aron Disick.
Aron is the pillar of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and has helped the organization to assassinate numerous drug lords over the year. This time, the number of dealers and the level of weaponry are astonishing, forcing the DEA to bring out their trump card – Aron Disick, and her best partner, Yuri Evans.
“Yuri, the prey is crossing the borderline 201 and will enter out ambush area, get ready to attack.” Aron stooped on the hill with precaution, holding a night vision at one hand and a sniper at the other hand. Her painted face was blending into the night while her eyes glimmered like the northern star.
Hearing the clear and cold voice of Aron from the pager customized for agents, Yuri, who was at the other end of the pager, fell silent for a few seconds. Then she hurriedly replied, “Roger that.” She paused for a second and then added, “be careful, Lucifer.”
Lucifer was the code name for Aron in the organization.
At such a life-or-death moment, Aron was touched by her thoughtfulness. But she still ordered in a low voice, “Do your work and don’t distract me.”
“Yes, boss.”
The slimy criminals picked the most discreet route in the forest.
After receiving the mission, Aron mapped out the landscape of the forest and laid out several traps on those discreet routes. The people guarding the routes would report to her immediately if they catch any signs of the drug dealers. She and Yuki had got there. They dressed lightly; therefore, their speed was much quicker than those drug dealers. What’s more, they didn’t attack them along the way; instead, they waited ahead for the criminals near their destination. When the time was right, they would take the dealers down in one move.
The reason is that the closer the criminals get to their destination, the more unguarded they become.
The reason why Aron can become the best agent at DEA is because of not only her excellent fighting capacity, but also her insights into human nature.
The smugglers went into the ambush area as predicted. As the bush was sparse, her night vision goggles had a broad vision. Aron aimed her shot at one criminal and ordered fire.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Gunshots ran throughout the forest and the air was thick with tension.
Although the attack was abrupt, those trained drug lords was able to sense danger ahead and quickly ran towards advantageous landscapes.
But Aron’s reputation was not for nothing. With a sweep of the telescope and a few triggers, the criminals who hid themselves behind the trees went down like the ninepins.
Aron didn’t give them a glance and went on looking for the rest of their targets.
There was a rustling of bushes at ten o’clock direction. Aron narrowed her eyes and placed her finger on the trigger but stayed put. The rustling was too loud, and it seemed that someone was baiting her to expose her position by using this trick. However, Aron was so smart that she won’t be tricked.
She calmly aimed a shot at the tree trunk beside the bushes and precisely shot a dealer in between his eyebrows.
Other dealers seemed to have sensed her cunningness and ability and moved more discreetly. As the wind rustled the leaves again, the forest became more special and quiet, and the atmosphere in the forest seemed to freeze.
“Shield me.” Aron’s voice drifted through the pager. Yuri’s eyes wavered for a moment and answered, “Roger that.”
Aron did not hesitate. She and Yuri had been partners for so long. They would understand each other using only a few words and cooperate with each other perfectly. She needed to lure out the drug dealers with Yuri’s help.
She aimed a shot at a suspicious spot and dodged out of her hiding place. As predicted, the drug dealers deducted her position by the sounds of the gun shots and aimed numerous rifles at the place she hid before. The mud on the ground splattered because of the bullets. The dealers knew immediately that they were fooled and wanted to transfer to a more hidden place, but it was too late.
Aron’s hearing was always top notch, she could tell their origins by the slightest gun shots. As she was about to pull the trigger, she heard the air beside her ear rippling. Then she did a back-flip to dodge the bullet. The bullet skimmed her foot and inserted into the ground.
Aron acted fast and kicked the attacker in his wrist. Before the attacker could pull the trigger, she felt a pain on her wrist and found that her gun was kicked away.
In a matter of seconds, the situation changed completely. It was now Aron who held the gun.
“It’s you?” Aron was surprised when she found that the attacker was Yuri.
Yuri wordlessly charged towards her, and Aron fired a shot in reflex. But she also evaded the vital organs of Yuri in reflex.
The sound of blade running into flesh seemed to hang in the air.
