Four people were into one car. Leo handed his car over to Rudo and he drove off in Edward’s car with Edward, Lonely and Susan inside. Susan gathered all of her strength to hug Edward to make sure he did not fall off from his seat.
After they reached the hotel, Edward was carried by two people on his left and right. Susan on the other hand carried their belongings while following behind. There were so many things that Susan could barely see the route in front of her.
“Hey, please help me!” Susan shouted out to them as she was stuck at the door. A small bag fell out from her arms. Luckily, she was fast enough to press the bag against the door frame to prevent it from dropping.
Once Lonely and Leo put down the unconscious Edward, they rushed over to help Susan with the bags.
“Oh my god.” Once done, they sat on the sofa with perspiration drenching their shirts.
After resting for a while, Leo stood up. “I’ll be going back now to bathe. I can’t stand this.”
“I’ll leave too.” Susan prepared to stand up to leave.
“Eh.” Leo stopped Susan. “Didn’t you say that you stay upstairs? Why are you leaving then? Look at Edward. If you don’t take care of him, how can he compete tomorrow?”
“Me..?” This was a double bed room. Lonely and Edward were staying together. Was it appropriate for her to stay…?
With his bag over his shoulders, he kicked Lonely who was sleeping on the sofa. “Wake up. Don’t you realize that the top of your head is shining?”
Lonely used his hand to defend himself when he woke up. “What!”
“Are you leaving or not, third wheel?” Leo emphasized his question again.
“Why would I leave? Am I not in my room…” Lonely stood up shakily all of a sudden when he saw Susan. “Let’s go. You guys go ahead. I’ll take my leave first.”
They quickly stepped out of the room and shut the door behind them.
Go ahead?
Susan glanced at Edward who was sleeping on the bed. In this situation, how could they go ahead?
Edward suddenly flipped his body.
He frowned, as if he’s suffering from something.
“Ah… Go away…” Edward talked in his sleep, as if he wanted to chase something away.
“Edward?” Susan sat at the side of the bed and called him softly. “Are you okay?”
His hands started to move unconsciously, as if he was in a fight in his dream.
“Arlo, I remember you…” His lips slightly trembled.
Susan’s memories suddenly went back to when she was 14 years old.
At that time, she wasn’t able to get along well with girls. After school, she liked to hang out at the nearby cybercafe.
Many students liked to go there. One of them was the infamous bully, Arlo.
That day, she was standing at the door. Coincidentally, she witnessed Arlo leading a group of people to block the way of a kid. She wasn’t able to squeeze through to witness the entire situation. The only thing she remembered was a pair of black eyes filled with anger and the one sentence that came out of the kid’s mouth, “Arlo, I remember you.”
Susan remembered this sentence clearly, because she never expected a small kid to say something that would send chills down one’s spine.
Susan couldn’t stand the sight of Arlo taking advantage so she rushed into the cafe and shouted, “There’s a fight going on outside!”
The boss of the cybercafe was afraid to be in trouble so he was the first one to come out.
The crowd was dispersed soon after. Wearing a yellow jacket, Susan felt full of herself for being a hero. However, when she turned around, the kid was nowhere to be seen.
Edward’s body was still curled up, but his expression wasn’t rage nor anger anymore.
Susan’s mind suddenly drifted to when she was in varsity. Two of Edward’s friends from Shanghai came to meet up with him. When talked about his liking, he pretended to be mysterious and said it was before high school.
So it’s you…
Susan cuddled together with Edward, her fair hands lightly caressed his face.
