Jennie stood next to Edward, in front of whom was Susan far away.
He saw Susan slightly tilting her head, as if expecting what kind of explanation Edward would give her.
Edward smiled and a thought came up in his heart, which quickly disappeared, “I shouldn’t refuse you, but I have already scheduled a dinner tonight, sorry.”
Jennie’s smile turned frozen.
But Edward only loved Susan. When he saw Susan seem to have no care about his answer, he wanted to play a joke, but he stopped this idea for a moment.
He knew that he even couldn’t bear to play jokes on Susan.
He even couldn’t bear to make Susan feel jealous. He loved her.
“Well…” Jennie nodded slowly, as if she remembered something, “By the way, when you sent me home last time, I left a lipstick on your car. I remembered that it was in my bag, but I couldn’t find it after I went home. It is probably in your car. Are you free?”
Jennie’s hands touched Edward’s wrist intimately.
“Lipstick?” After a pause, Edward took out his hand quietly, and rummaged in his clothes pocket. “Is this what you are finding?”
The dark cone-shaped thing didn’t look like lipstick at first glance.
She originally wanted to take the opportunity to go to the parking lot with Edward, but she didn’t expect that Edward should take it with him. Jennie was so surprised that she didn’t react, “Yes…”
“Thank you…” Jennie moved slowly and took the lipstick.
“You’re welcome.”
The smile on Edward’s face was full of alienation, but when he looked at Susan, the smile was so sweet.
He walked towards Susan, but Leo’s face took on a ghastly expression.
“Edward, I have something to discuss with you.” Leo grabbed Edward and said with a smile to everyone, “Sorry, we go out now, and you can continue to talk.”
The lounge seemed to be much quieter, and Edward’s figure was hidden by the white door.
Jennie exchanged greetings with a few people before leaving as if nothing had happened.
There were some sundries in the room, and Leo found two chairs to sit down.
“You should know that Jennie is your number one fan.” Leo was serious.
Edward said, “Yeah.”
“Since you began to play the game, Jennie have been supporting you and managing your fans club. She has also made great efforts for the All-Star game this time.” Leo looked at him and shook his head, “I think you’ve gone too far.”
Edward leaned forward slightly, with his elbows on his knees, “You mean I behaved too coldly.”
“Not only Jennie, but also many of your female fans have done a lot for you.” Leo frowned. “You have always been abstinent in the circle, working hard, and leaving the impression of having no girlfriend. Now you suddenly announced that you had a girlfriend. How do your fans think about it? Have you considered their feelings?”
“Leo.” Edward’s tone was deep, “No matter what it will happen, the result will be the same. I don’t want to hurt Susan.”
“You…” Leo was a little angry, “Yes, the result may be the same, but they also care the process. As long as you pretended to do so as before, you can still keep many fans. Susan will also definitely support you.”
“I’m just a professional player, Leo.” Edward’s voice was a little helpless. He sighed and said, “Why bother? They are all my fans, and I don’t want to lie to them.”
Leo covered his own face with his hands. He knew that nothing could change Edward’s choice.
Edward stopped talking, stood up and walked to the door.
“Don’t forget, you can be famous now just because of your fans!” Leo raised the volume behind him.
The doorknob was opened gently, and people in the lounge looked to this side for a moment.
Edward stood at the door, and said in a moderate voice, “I just rely on myself.”
