“Why didn’t the communication system work? We adopted quantum communication technology and unique passwords. How couldn’t they work?” Chase Lu shouted with an angry face in the conference hall of the spacecraft.
This was the first time that he lost his temper in front of scientists and Ding.
They had lost contact with the advance team for ten hours and worried that something bad had happened to the team.
Ding explained with a worrying expression, “Captain, we suspect that there is a special band on Mars that cut off the signal. There is nothing wrong with the communication system.”
Chase frowned, “A special band?”
Chase thought of a possibility that someone released the band on purpose. It meant that there were creatures on Mars.
But the climate on Mars is so bad, and the rover they lunched before didn’t find anything on Mars.
Chase guessed, “If it was a special band that interfered with the quantum communication satellite, it must be ejected by solar activities.”
“Yes. There are small activities on the sun, which would release some electromagnetic waves. But we don’t know what kind of it,” Ding added.
“We had rebuilt a communication satellite, which will be launched tomorrow morning. Then we will be able to contact them via wireless waves.”
Another scientist replied, “We have confirmed that there is no creature on Mars. They won’t encounter obstacles. If they did, they would come back to the spacecraft.”
Chase nodded and believed that Joe would come back of they encountered difficulties.
On Mars, all soldiers returning to the shuttle realized that the anti-gravity system had been out of control.
People in the shuttle felt desperate with monsters outside constantly beating the shell of the shuttle.
They already witnessed that these monsters’ straws could penetrate spacesuit easily. Would the straws penetrate the outer shell of the shuttle?
They had no answers.
What made them more desperate was that they couldn’t get help from the spacecraft. Some people even thought that Chase had known there were monsters on Mars and abandoned them.
Many of them were helplessly sitting in the shuttle with despair on their faces.
“General, will they come to rescue us when they found there are monsters on Mars?” a soldier next to Joe asked.
Another soldier replied, “I don’t think they would come. The anti-gravity system doesn’t work. If they come, they won’t be able to leave Mars.”
“Our Captain is cruel. Do you remember when the riots started on Earth, and the thugs rushed to the Science Park, the Captain ordered to kill them all.”
Joe turned around and stared at them, “Stop talking the bullshit! I have been working with Chase for many years. He won’t do that to us! If you dare to doubt him again, I will kill you,” Joe said angrily.
“I’m sorry!”
The soldiers stood up and apologized to Joe.
Joe calmed himself down and added, “Don’t worry. The outer shell of the shuttle is made of special materials. The monsters won’t wear it out. Let’s sleep first and kill them tomorrow.”
People nodded and sat on the chairs.
Outside the shuttles, monsters realized they were not able to break up the shell and stopped.
“Don’t take off your helmets,” Joe warned.
Joe was lying on the chair and fell asleep. He was too tired.
“Joe, I’m Chase. Can you hear me?”
In a daze, Joe suddenly heard Chase’s voice and woke up from his nightmare.
