Unrequite Love

Book:Married to Jerk Ceo Published:2024-6-2

Aurora seems to be heard sobbing in her work chair. The woman’s hands were wet. He used it to wipe away the tears pooling and running down his smooth cheeks.
Mario, who entered Aurora’s study because it happened not to be closed at that time, immediately felt bad for himself. Thinking of pretending not to see. He slowly tried to turn around, intending to come back out so as not to disturb the crying woman.
However, when he managed to turn around and was ready to step out, he was taken by surprise. This time Aurora screamed hysterically and soon returned to tears with a louder voice.
Worried that something might happen, Mario refused to go out. Bracing himself, he immediately approached the woman who was grieving.
“Mrs Aurora, what exactly happened?” he asked carefully. Come to think of it, and he was even stupid to ask such a question. Aurora, in her chair, did not answer at all. Instead, the sound of her crying was getting louder and even deafening.
“Tristan, you idiot!” she cursed while sobbing. “Actually, what have I been lacking all this time? Why are you so happy to play with me? You damn man!”
The panicked Mario looked confused. Dizzy himself is facing Aurora, who is now exploding. “Madam, please calm down. Everything can be resolved with a cool head,” the man coaxed timidly. One little bit could he be the target of the beautiful woman’s tantrum.
“Mario,” Aurora called as she turned to her interlocutor. “Do you think I’m less beautiful that I don’t deserve Tristan’s love?” When asked this question, Mario immediately scratched the back of his neck, which didn’t itch. Just a little wrong answer, he could finish his career in this company. Giving a faint smile, the man soon tried to answer.
“Of course you are very beautiful, madam. In fact you are the single most beautiful head of the Foxtail Corporation. Isn’t this an open secret?” said Mario honestly.
According to his observations so far, it is Aurora who has the most beautiful face in the company. Many admire male workers. Not to mention her cheerful nature and very friendly to fellow workers make this woman worthy of being idolized. But all of that wasn’t enough to get Tristan to fall in love with her. Edward also said that Tristan was the type of guy with difficulty falling in love.
“But why is my fate like this, Mario! Why?” she asked again hysterically.
Mario immediately ran to the sideboard in the right corner of the room. Poured drinking water in a glass and walked back to Aurora while handing over what she had brought.
“Calm down, madam. You’d better have a drink first. Everything can be resolved with a cool head without getting so emotional like this.”
“You just don’t know —-”
“Madam,” Mario cut in. “Drink first. Then the anger continues. Besides, you also have to remember, there will be an important meeting in 30 minutes. You’d better calm yourself right now so you can still look good after this.”
As hypnotized by Mario’s words, Aurora complied. Regulating her breath, the woman grabbed the offered glass and gulped down the drink in her hand.
“It’s finished,” he said as he returned the white porcelain glass that Mario had given him earlier. “In that case, I beg you to calm yourself down right now. I’m also here to remind you of a meeting that will start in a few minutes.”
Aurora seemed to repeatedly regulate her breath to relieve the emotions holding her back. After calming down, the woman extended a hand to Mario. Asked for the documents he had to read from Tristan’s assistant.
“Your job is done, Mario. You’d better leave me alone for now.”
“But are you sure you’ll be all right?” asked Mario to confirm. Aurora rolled her eyes in disgust. Turning his face forward, he spoke quietly.
“Get out of my room right now!” Mario nodded obediently. Without many protests, the blonde-haired man immediately came out before Aurora rebuked him again.

“Mr. Tristan, are you sure you want to go to court today?”
Tristan stopped the movement of the fingers dancing on the laptop keyboard. Glancing at Vacheron Constantin, who is wrapped around his left hand, it is known that it is already 10 o’clock.
According to the schedule, the first trial of the divorce case between him and Sophia will be held exactly at 11 this morning. As planned yesterday, he will attend the first trial. Not the least bit concerned with Edward’s allegation yesterday, which forbade him to come so that the divorce process could be hammered immediately.
“If you have shame, you shouldn’t have to come anymore. All sorts of mediation for you to reconcile is also no longer needed. Sophia has already made up her mind to immediately end your marriage. Then? What’s the point of you coming?”
Tristan sighed in exasperation. Lifting his face, he looked directly at Mario.
“I’m still going, Mario. This is my only chance to once again convince Sophia to come back to me.”
“And Mrs. Aurora?” Mario reflex asked. He immediately covered his mouth with his hand. Why are you so curious and pretentious to interfere in the boss’s business?
“Sorry if I’m being presumptuous, Mister. I didn’t mean it that way.” He hastily clarified. He just afraid that Tristan will be offended by his behaviour just now.
“It’s okay, Mario. Take it easy. As for Aurora’s business, I don’t care right now. Even if tomorrow I manage to convince Sophia to come back and be with me, I’ll take care of the problem with Aurora immediately.”
Mario was taken aback. He pulled up a chair and sat right in front of Tristan.
“So you want to break the promise to marry Mrs. Aurora?”
Tristan, without the slightest hesitation, immediately nodded.
“Yes, Mario. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. I can’t seem to marry Aurora while my heart is still attached to Sophia. After all, Aurora deserves to be happy. And it’s not with me.”
Mario nodded. His face also displays an expression that is difficult to read. But about Tristan, who wants to go after his wife again, he is of course, 100% supportive. It’s a shame if they love each other but can’t be together because of each other’s prestige and selfishness. After all, he knew what Tristan had been doing behind Sophia’s back to win her back.
“It will be very difficult for you to convince Mrs. Aurora,” continued Mario.
As a longtime assistant at Foxtail. He certainly knows and even memorizes the character of all his superiors and how Tristan is so cold and almost hard to touch. Then Aurora is so attractive but often explosive.
Then Raphael always mediates because he has a wise nature and even thinks long about every decision he wants to take. Mario almost knew all the ins and outs of what was going on. Being an assistant and a confidant makes him understand what action to take is appropriate.
“You must know, I’ve known Aurora since I was little. I know what her nature and behavior are like,” said Tristan. The man rested his elbows on the table. While one of his hands seemed to be directed to stroke his smooth chin.
“Even if he gets angry later, I’m sure Aurora won’t rebuke me for long.”
“But, Mister,” interrupted Mario. The man looked deeply into Tristan’s face. “It seems that this time, he will be very angry with you.”
Tristan nodded. Agree with what Mario said. After Aurora raged in her room yesterday, even the woman was not the least afraid to remind her about the wedding vows she had made. But, what can I do? Tristan couldn’t possibly marry two women at once. It’s more a matter of heart, and he only loves Sophia. Shouldn’t he also be firm and confident with whom he ultimately chooses?
“What else can we do.” Tristan said quietly. “I’d better break her heart now. Than when we both get married later, she will suffer more because she has to be next to me who doesn’t really love her. I’ve hurt Sophia enough, Mario. It’s unfair that Aurora should feel the same way. Maybe, God will punish me very severely in the afterlife.”
Laughter even trickled from Mario’s lips. But what his boss said was true. It’s better if Aurora’s heart is broken now. He was sure that she would eventually find a replacement. Instead of getting married because of ego, there is hurting each other’s feelings.
“I can only wish you all the best, Mister,” Mario said before rising from his seat. “Hopefully all these complicated problems can be resolved properly soon. I also pray that you and your wife can reconcile and start from the beginning of your household. And for Mrs. Aurora, I hope she can soon find a man who truly loves her sincerely.”
This time, Tristan nodded in agreement. The man suddenly continued his sentence as Mario got up from his seat.
“But, Mario. Speaking of other men, don’t you want to try to get close to Aurora?”
Mario, who had just stood up from his seat, immediately gasped. Between confused and surprised, he was bombarded with questions he had not prepared an answer for.
“How could I possibly approach Mrs. Aurora, Mister. She has the same taste as yours. Haven’t tried it yet, I’m sure I’ll lose badly. In the past, there was a CEO from Germany who wanted to marry her and was immediately rejected outright.”
Tristan laughed. He remembered this incident. Cristian Luthof, a businessman from Germany, was rejected by Aurora when he asked her to marry him. Whereas in terms of appearance, Cristian looks above average. Not to mention the countless treasures, but it still didn’t take Aurora’s eyes off.
“Unless we try, we never know the result, Mario. Who knows he might actually be interested in you.”
Mario laughed this time. Real self-awareness with the capacity he has. How could an assistant like him get the daughter of the head of a big company like Aurora?
“I dare not speculate one bit, Mister.”
“But if Aurora wants to be with you, then what?” inquired Tristan, squinting. “Then that’s the story, maybe I’ll try hard to get rid of myself.”
They laughed again until Tristan glanced at his watch again and asked Mario to call the driver to prepare a car for him.
“Again, I wish you all the best, Mister. I hope Mrs. Sophia will open her heart a little bit for you to prove that you really love her.”
Tristan smiled as he nodded. Hastily walked to the car so he could quickly go to court to attend today’s trial. Exactly at 10:45 minutes, he finally arrived at his destination.
As soon as he waited in front of the room, out of the corner of his eye, Tristan could see Sophia’s presence this morning, accompanied by Edward. They both look relaxed. Much different from Tristan, who was nervous and even repeatedly wiped his forehead, which was wet with sweat. Waited for about 15 minutes, the officer invited everyone in.
Once inside, it didn’t take long, and the Judge immediately started the trial from the reading of the lawsuit to the last attempt at peace in the form of mediation for both parties.
“Here, I as a judge offer to both parties, namely the plaintiff and the defendant, to carry out mediation first. Exchange ideas with each other until a mutual agreement is reached whether to continue with the divorce or finally reconcile.”
Sophia turned to Tristan. The man did the same thing until their eyes met. Stared for a moment, then turned back to the Judge in front of them.
“I think there is no need for mediation anymore.”
From the companion seat, Edward immediately expressed his opinion. His words immediately caught the attention of everyone in the courtroom.
“The plaintiffs are sure to divorce. So, in order to reduce the amount of time wasted, I don’t think mediation is necessary in this divorce case.” The Judge tapped his hammer. Ask Edward to stop his rambling.
“I beg your companions not to make a fuss or interfere in this matter. Let both parties make decisions without being intimidated,” the Judge warned.
“But I believe that the plaintiff does not need this mediation process, Judge.”
The sound of the hammer being knocked again was heard. This time more than before.
“I warn you to behave yourself. Or the officers will take you out in a dishonorable manner!” Edward immediately snorted in annoyance. Immediately looked disapprovingly at Judge, who didn’t think like him.
“What about the plaintiff and the defendant? Do you want to do mediation?” offered Hakim once again.
“I think it is necessary, Judge,” said Tristan first. “I have a lot to say to the plaintiffs.”
The Judge’s gaze turned to Sophia. Then he immediately asked a question as if asking for approval.
“What about the plaintiff? Does it agree to mediate?”
Sophia glanced briefly at Edward. Then after that, he was silent for a moment to consider until she finally nodded in agreement to follow Tristan’s request to mediate or negotiate a divorce. She was just curious what his husband wanted to say this time.
“Okay, then, the officer will take you to the mediation room. Please discuss it with a cool heart and head. I hope there is a bright spot from this case. We will hold the next trial next week.”
Sophia and Tristan stood together. Then one of the officers led them into one of the rooms. Then provide privacy so they can talk comfortably. For a moment, both of them were silent. Until the moment Tristan deliberately cleared his throat to break the awkward atmosphere.
“Sophia, how are you?” asked the man, looking at his interlocutor.
Sophia looked up. Nailed his gaze to Tristan’s blue bead. The last time they had a serious conversation was in the car coming home from Dubai. There was a real nervousness in Sophia’s heart right now when the two of them were so close together.
“I’m fine. Very good in fact.”
Tristan nodded again. Slowly thinking about what the right word to say to Sophia after this. Where to start so that the woman in front of her understands what she is about to convey.
“Sophia, this is a matter of mediation discussed by the judge in the courtroom,” said Tristan. The expression on his face was very nervous.
“Yes. What do you want to say? I’ll listen to you first. Feel free to speak.”
“Thank you,” he said. “Because I don’t want to waste time, I want to once again invite you to get back together, Sophia. I know, I also realize that there are so many wrongs I’ve done to you in the past. But, can’t you just give me this one chance?” he asked with a pleading face.
Sophia, who was listening intently, seemed unmoved. She could guess Tristan would say this. That was why he had already prepared an answer for the man.
“Before continuing this conversation, I would like to first apologize to you for what Edward said yesterday that might have made you angry or offended. Really, please don’t take it to heart.” There was a short pause after Sophia delivered her apology. After taking a deep breath, the woman continued to speak. “Tristan, I have previously told you about me who still loves you and this moment has forgiven you. Just like my previous decision, I can’t if I have to go back to being your wife.”
“But why, Sophia?” said Tristan quickly. He was also curious about what caused his wife to refuse if they had the same feelings. “Don’t we both love each other? Then why not try to get back together. Are you afraid I’ll repeat the same mistake?”
“It’s not like that, Tristan. It’s just—-”
“Just, what?” Tristan interrupted before Sophia could finish her sentence. “Am I not deserving of a second chance? Am I too despicable to get back together with you? Whatever conditions you put forward, I’ll try to do it, Sophia. Please give me one more chance to make things right.”
Tristan looked sadly at the woman in front of him. Hoping that his request to repeat from the beginning and correct the existing mistakes was granted.
“I can’t, Tristan. I can’t do this.” Sophia just kept refusing. As if the decision was final and could not be contested. “Please, Sophia. Just give me this one chance to prove to you that I deserve to be with you.”
Sophia shook her head. Not the least bit agreed to the request of the man who was still her husband. “If we’re together, then what about Aurora? Didn’t you promise to marry her?”
“I’ve made the decision to break the promise. Besides, it would feel bad to marry her when my heart still loves you so much.”
“You canceled your wedding plans with Aurora?”
Tristan immediately nodded, then spoke again.
“Whatever it is, Sophia. I’ll do anything so we can get back together. I’ll talk to Aurora. Apologize to her for breaking the deal. So, I beg you, just give me one chance to prove to you that I’ve changed.” Sophia stared intently at Tristan’s face.
From his eyes, it was clear that the man meant what he said.
“Are you sure you’ll change?”
“For God’s sake, Sophia.” The man got up and then sat cross-legged in front of his wife. Lowering his ego. Requesting that his request be granted. Grabbing Sophia’s wrist, Tristan spoke again.
“I know what I did before will never leave your memory. But, I swear, Sophia. I will never repeat that stupidity.”
Sophia closed her eyes tightly. Having hesitated for a moment, she looked back at Tristan’s face. She gently stroked the man’s cheek, and then he answered softly.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry I can’t do this. I can’t, Tristan. We can no longer be together. So, just accept fate that we do have to part in the end. And one more thing, don’t ever force me to go back to being your wife. will ever happen.”
Slapping Tristan’s wrist, Sophia chose to stand up. Without another word, the woman immediately left without even looking back, alone caring about her husband’s condition. Meanwhile, Tristan could only sit limply. Silently, without feeling, the tears fall again. It hurts when you try so hard but don’t even get the chance to prove it.
