Sophia has just finished her photo shoot with a well-known perfume brand. As soon as she was about to change clothes, one of the managers came over. She immediately handed over the cell phone she had left on purpose so he wouldn’t miss it in case of an important call he had to pick up immediately.
As soon as she received the mobile phone, Sophia immediately pulled to one corner of the room. Checking the cellphone screen, she was a little surprised by the series of short messages that Edward had sent to her.
Edward : [Sophia, how are you? I haven’t heard from you in a long time. Are you okay?] Edward : [Are you busy right now? I wanted to call you]
Edward : [Jesus, stupid me, I. You must be busy right now. When you’re done, reply right away. I want to take you to lunch together]
Sophia smiled faintly. At first, I wanted to reply to the message that Edward sent. However, he refused to do so. Choosing to get back up, Sophia then changed clothes and approached Alexius, who had been waiting for her in the car.
“Take me right now to the Foxtail Corporation building. I want to see my husband right now,” Sophia ordered Alexius and the driver. She suddenly wanted to visit Tristan to annoy her husband for some reason. She was sure the man would be annoyed when he saw her presence there.
Without saying much and the slightest refusal, Alexius immediately took Sophia to Foxtail in the city center. Once arrived, the beautiful woman asked her bodyguard not to wait.
“You guys go home first.”
“But, Madame —-” Alexius wanted to protest. However, Sophia had already raised her hand. Ask the man to stop talking.
“No need to worry. Let me go home with my husband later.”
Alexius finally nodded in resignation. What could he do if Sophia had said something like that? “Very well, madam. Then I shall go home first.”
After ensuring that Alexius’ image had disappeared, Sophia hurriedly walked into the elevator. Directing her long legs to immediately get to Tristan’s workspace, which is in the main tower.
When they arrived, Tristan’s secretary, who was busy typing at the time, noticed Sophia’s arrival. She hastily stopped what he was doing, then offered to take her.
“Thank you very much. But I don’t think it’s necessary,” Sophia politely declined. “I can go in myself. Besides, there aren’t any guests in the room, right?” she asked for sure.
“Nothing, madam,” replied the secretary, followed by a head shake. “Mr. Tristan isn’t having any guests. Only Mario is in there. I’m sure the two of them are currently having a small talk or maybe discussing ongoing projects.”
Sophia nodded. Turned around and took a small step toward Tristan’s room. As soon as she was about to enter, she realized that the door to his husband’s room was not tightly closed. She could hear it faintly from the doorway. Tristan and Mario were involved in a fairly serious conversation at that time.
“Congratulations, Mister. Your first plan has worked. Now, the whole of Great Britain knows that Beckley was involved in a fraud scandal in the mega smart city project,” said Mario.
Meanwhile, Tristan, sitting across from him, smiled with satisfaction. From his face, he looked so happy at the news he had just heard.
“I’m sure my father-in-law must be furious in his office after hearing the news that Beckley is on the verge of collapse.”
Mario laughed a little too. “More than that, Mister. For this incident, Beckley could be blacklisted by the big developers for cheating.”
“Yes,” said Tristan. “Alfonso Adelaide deserves his unfortunate fate. Besides, it’s not much, Mario. I still have many more plans that I have devised to slowly destroy my father-in-law, that is.”
Mario looked taken aback by Tristan’s last words. “So this is still going on?” he asked carefully. “I think after buying almost all of Beckley’s stock that’s more than enough.”
“Of course it’s not over yet.” Tristan gave a meaningful smile. “There is Sophia and many more surprises that I will show Alfonso Adelaide. I swear I will not stop until that man feels the pain I have felt all this time, Mario. That man must pay dearly for what he has done in the past. then.”
Sophia were successful shock. From behind the door, she covered her mouth with both hands. Then slowly back away and then turn around.
She immediately abandoned the intention to meet Tristan. There was a feeling of pain that seemed to run through her body when Sophia knew a little about the reason for his husband marrying her.
With hurtful feelings, Sophia chose to go down the building to the lobby. Reaching for her cell phone from his bag, she suddenly remembered something. Please search for a person’s contact, then call them right away.
“Hello, Edward,” Sophia greeted very kindly. For some reason, she wanted to meet him right now. Moreover, there was one small plan he wanted to make after this.
“Hi, Sophia. What’s up? Would you like to go out to eat with me? Yes, even though it’s no longer noon.”
There was a small chuckle coming from the other side. “Yes, of course. But may I choose which place the two of us should go?”
“Of course,” Edward answered without hesitation. He never had a problem with the restaurant Sophia would choose. The most important thing for him is to meet the woman he once liked.
“How about Chick and Rabbit in West, London? I’m craving some Asian food this afternoon.” ”
Okay. We’ll eat there. So where do you want me to pick you up?” Edward asked then.
“No need,” Sophia refused. “We’ll just meet there. Coincidentally, I’m already on the road at the moment.”
“Okay,” Edward said. “Then I’m going there right now.”
The call ended, and Sophia rushed to find a taxi to the restaurant. Not without reason, she chose Chick and Rabbit that afternoon. Previously, Sophia accidentally overheard Tristan and his assistant’s conversation that before returning home, the man would stop for a while at a coffee shop which is located right next to Chick and Rabbit.
Once there, with the waiter’s help, Sophia took a seat. Five minutes later, Edward seemed to come and go straight to him.
“It’s good to see you again, Sophia. I hope you never get tired of seeing me,” Edward greeted warmly as he just sat down directly in front of Sophia.
“Sure.” Sophia gave a sincere smile.
Suddenly, a feeling of pleasure rose when he saw Edward’s shady face. He always looked at her the same way. The affectionate gaze that she now never gets from Tristan, her husband. Ah, wasn’t Tristan just pretending?
“How are you? Are you okay? Is Tristan treating you well?” said Edward without any awkwardness and the slightest bit of preamble. Until this moment, he was still worried about Sophia’s condition, afraid that something bad would happen to her.
Sophia didn’t answer right away. She chose to be silent for a moment as she took a sip of the water the waiter had served her. Sh wanted to tell about all the bad experiences she had with Tristan. Tells Edward that he is so sorry for choosing the wrong life partner. The harsh treatment, intimidation, and pain he received recently destroyed his feelings. But, instead of saying that, Sophia chose to smile and then spoke quietly.
“I’m fine, Ed. You don’t have to worry about that.”
“Thank God you’re okay, Sophia. For God’s sake, every day I don’t calm down thinking about your fate,” Edward said honestly.
“Thinking about my fate?” Sophia’s eyebrows knit together. Of course, she did not understand the meaning of this one sentence. Did Edward feel what she was going through? Are they healthy?
“Yes.” Edward nodded. “To be honest, I know very well who Tristan is, your husband. I really doubt his intention to marry you suddenly, especially since you just met. Because as far as I know, Tristan is a typical man who doesn’t fall in love easily. I had bad thoughts, maybe he is planning something for you , Sophia. But to hear you’re doing well, I’m very grateful.”A soft sigh escaped Edward’s nose. The man seemed genuinely relieved to see Sophia was okay.
In stark contrast to Sophia herself, she fell silent again. Hearing what Edward said, he wanted to confirm the man’s bad feeling. Edward was right, and it turns out that Tristan married her for a specific purpose. Because he deliberately wanted to make it a tool to destroy his father. I don’t know. Sophia also doesn’t understand what her family has done wrong and that Tristan has the heart to do heinous things to her.
“But, Sophia…” Edward resumed his sentence. He grabbed Sophia’s wrist and held it gently. “As I’ve said, if Tristan ever hurts you, don’t hesitate to tell me.”
Sophia gave a smile. She nodded slowly and then responded to the words of the man in front of her. “Don’t worry, Edward. You’re on my list of the first people I’ll call when something bad happens to me. And …”
Sophia seemed to pause for a moment, which caught Edward’s attention. The man tilted his head to listen carefully to what the woman had to say.
“And what, Sophia?” Edward asked curiously.
“Suppose one day, and I no longer have a match with Tristan, will you still accept and take me to go far?”
Edward chuckled. His heart suddenly felt warm. Was this a sign that Sophia had the same feelings as him? It’s just that, maybe in the past, his efforts were not optimal until Tristan suddenly cornered him. At that moment, he cursed his stupidity.
Then suddenly, without hesitation, Edward grabbed Sophia’s wrist and kissed the back of her hand.
“Of course, Sophia. Even if you ask me to wait for you, I will do that. I told you from the start, and it’s not easy to erase my love for you even though you are now Tristan’s wife,” Edward said clearly. “One more…” he continued. “You need to imprint it in your brain. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask me.”
Sophia nodded. Staring closely at Edward’s face always shows a sincere and earnest attitude. For God’s sake, how stupid she had been to reject a sincere man in front of him.
“I’ll always remember that, Ed. Thank you so much again.”
The two of them then continued to eat first. Once they were done, they didn’t go straight home but chose to go back to chatting and spending time. Sophia enjoyed her company with Edward. It wasn’t long before he realized that it was getting late.
Based on her feelings and instincts, Sophia believed Tristan had also been at the coffee shop next to the restaurant. That’s why he soon decided to take Edward home immediately. Sure enough. As she had calculated, Sophia bumped into Tristan as soon as she came out. This is what he expected. His husband caught her going with his best friend and the man now his rival.

“Hurry down!” Tristan ordered when the car he was driving was parked neatly in the yard.
Seeing Sophia, who didn’t move in her sitting position with a straight face, Tristan’s emotions seemed provoked. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he walked around the car. The man opened the door on the right and, without hesitation, grabbed Sophia’s body. Seconds later carried him to go straight to their room.
“Tristan put me down right now!”
Sophia scolded. To the room, she continued to struggle. He seemed to hit Tristan’s chest to listen to his request to be taken down immediately.
However, Tristan seemed deaf. He kept walking straight until the two of them reached the room. Without hesitation, the man immediately dropped Sophia’s body on their bed.
“TRISTAN!” Sophia snapped as she straightened herself.
“What?” Tristan asked in a rising voice. His eyes looked deep into Sophia’s blue beads. “You want to be angry with me? I should be angry here, Sophia!”
Tristan directed his hand and gripped his wife’s chin tightly as before. Asked the woman to look at his face, which was angry.
“I’ve told you many times, and no one is allowed to touch my belongings, including Edward, even once. Are you deaf, huh?”
“What are you saying?” Sophia said no less emotionally. “You call me stuff?!”
Tristan nodded. Confirming Sophia’s question. “Yes, you are indeed an object. An item that already has Master. Don’t you realize that my name is written on your body? Don’t forget yourself, and you are my ex, Sophia. Tristan Quartararo’s ex!”
Sophia, with her free hand, slapped Tristan right away. His patience had run out when he was so openly insulted like this.
“You Bitch!”
Getting a slap in the face, Tristan immediately pushed Sophia’s body so that she fell on the bed. Crawled up, then locked the woman’s body. Then brought both hands, trying to strangle Sophia’s neck.
“Just kill me all!” Sophia’s great-grandson was upset. His breath hitched as the air supply began to be blocked from entering his lungs. T
ristan angrily nodded. Even mercilessly tightened his grip on Sophia’s neck.
“Yes. I did want to kill you.”
Seeing Sophia, almost out of breath, Tristan hastily stretched his grip. Let the wife breathe air. At the same time, he shuffled down and stood right on the side of the bed.
“Why let me go?” Sophia asked. His eyes were so sore he was trying not to cry. No, he really couldn’t cry in front of Tristan. Sophia had vowed to be strong in the face of her husband’s cruel treatment.
“Of course I don’t want to kill you that easily. I want you to feel the pain first,” Tristan muttered quietly.
“For God’s sake, what do you really want, Tristan? I know you want to destroy my family. Destroy the company, Papa. Even deliberately marrying me because you want to use me as bait to hurt the Adelaide family. What did I do wrong? What did Papa do to you?”
Sophia shouted angrily. She poured out all the frustration that had built up in her heart. Hell, after this, Tristan wants to torture her again. Sophia didn’t care anymore. Today, Sophia wanted to hear why this man had the heart to want her and her entire family to suffer.
“You ask what did you do wrong? What did your Papa do to my family?” Tristan asked no less furiously. “Your fault you are the daughter of a murderer!”
Sophia was taken aback. She was sure that her hearing wasn’t wrong just now.
“A murderer? What do you mean? Who is a murderer!”
Tristan smiled wryly. Still angry, he finally answered his wife’s question without hesitation. “Just so you know, Alfonso Adelaide killed my Papa a few years ago. He even managed to destroy my family. Made me an orphan.”
“Not.” Sophia shook her head. “You must be lying. My dad isn’t a bad person, Tristan! You must be making this up.”
Sophia exclaimed angrily. Do not accept what Tristan has accused his family of. How could a good man like his father have the heart to kill other people?
“If you ask me why am I acting like this to you? Because I think you really need to accept it. What I did, is not comparable to what your Papa did, Sophia. I’m not a stupid human who suddenly does evil for no reason,” debated Tristan then.
“You must have misunderstood, Tristan. Where is the proof that it was my Papa who killed your Papa?”
Tristan chuckles. Inclining his face, he whispered to Sophia. “Unfortunately your Papa is too smart to keep this secret. But as smart as Alfonso Adelaide is, I’m sure it will eventually be discovered too. I swear when I have all the evidence, then with my own hands I will drag your Papa to jail. And before that evidence collected, it’s better for you to feel the suffering like what I’ve felt so far.”
Sophia shook her head. He still doubts what Tristan has accused his family of. “That’s impossible, Tristan. You must be wrong on this. My dad couldn’t have done such a vile thing.”
“No, Sophia,” said Tristan quickly. “You are the daughter of a murderer. Remember the Adelaide family are murderers!”
Satisfied with saying that, Tristan then left the room. Leaving Sophia, who suddenly slumped on the floor while trying to dismiss what she had just heard. It was hard to hold back tears. Finally, the tears rolled down too. Now, all he had to do was prove herself the truth of the accusations Tristan had just made.
