Chapter 217 Tan’s Brothers

Book:My Legendary Husband Published:2024-5-1

Chase knew well about Josh’s temper. Though Josh was impulsive sometimes, he was reasonable.
He wouldn’t fight first unless he had been forced too much.
Judging from Josh’s parents’ words, Chase believed that Josh had been set up.
“Mr. Lu. We talk about this later. I should treat you for lunch first.” Justice Xu stood up and prepared to butcher a chicken.
There was not so much for a country family to treat their guests. A chicken was the top treatment.
“Let’s have it later. I have to bring back Josh first.” Chase refused and intended to save Josh first.
“You must be hungry,” Justice said.
“It’s not too far here from the police station. You can make lunch now, and we’ll come back when it is finished.” Hale Song explained.
Justice thought so, so he nodded. “Well. Let Parr Liu lead you to there. He knows where Josh is.”
Parr was Justice’s son-in-law, Rena’s husband, also a teacher in the village’s school.
It was just him who was beaten up by Tan’s brothers.
But Tan’s brothers didn’t dare to beat him so severely because he was a weak but respectable teacher.
Parr soon came back. As he greeted Chase and others, four men broke into Xu’s yard and shouted. “Old Xu. I heard you’ve found some helpers?”
A strong man laughed at Justice, while others peered at Chase and the Three Lions with sneers.
Justice’s face turned sullen as he saw the four men. It was just Tan’s brothers who made trouble here.
“Boy. I warn you. Leave here now, or we’re going to smash your poor car!” A man stared at Chase and threatened.
Hale couldn’t stand this and intended to fight. He was somehow the leader of an underground force, so how could he endure such humiliation from a little ruffian, especially the humiliation to Chase Lu.
Chase signaled Hale to stop him. The most critical thing now was to rescue Josh first.
The four brothers were just ants that could be easily trodden to death in Chase’s eyes.
“Old Xu. Josh has already been arrested, but you’re still so arrogant to make the matter big! If you don’t want to compromise, we would like to get you arrested, too.” Tan’s brothers threatened.
A man glanced at the pigpen and then walked over to it. “Let’s take one pig as a punishment of his offense.”
“Good idea. Let’s take it.” The others were excited and rushed to the pigpen.
Justice was furious. Just as he wanted to rebuke, Chase stopped him.
“If you trust me, don’t care about this. When I bring Josh back, I’ll make them pay for that.” Chase promised with confidence.
Looking at Chase’s confident eyes and firm expressions, Justice chose to believe him.
After all, Josh was not here, so they couldn’t fight against Tan’s brother. They had no ways to stop Tan’s brothers.
“OK. I trust you!” Justice nodded and then asked his families to be silent, but just watch Tan’s brothers arrogantly take one pig.
“Parr. Come on. Let’s go to the police station.” After Tan’s brothers left with a pig, Chase said to Parr Liu.
Parr lost his trust to Chase because of Chase’s compromise to Tan’s brothers’ atrocity.
Chase even couldn’t deal with Tan’s brothers, so how could he deal with the police inspector standing at Tan’s side.
But thought Parr didn’t trust Chase, he had to lead them to the police station because of Justice’s order.
Soon, they got to the police station of SL Village.
It was not far away from Josh’s family. The station was an old-fashioned house, the police symbol hanging on the red glazed tiles.
One police car and two police motorbikes were parking by the gate.
Tate parked the car by the road. They got off the car but found no one standing guard at the gate.
They went to the corridor, and also found no one there. The offices were empty, and the door was closed as if no one worked there.
“Let’s go upstairs,” Chase said.
They got upstairs and found the offices there were also closed. But they heard snore as they passed by the inspector’s office.
Hale was about to knock at the door, but Parr said first. “Josh is controlled in there for almost a weak.”
Chase looked at the room Parr pointed at. It was a holding cell, with a heavy lock.
Chase strode over and then patted the door, shouting. “Josh! Are you there?”
Josh Xu heard Chase’s voice, surprised. “Chase? Is that you? Why do you come here?”
“Good boy! Why didn’t you call me since such a big matter happened to your family?” Chase took a breath of relief as he heard Josh’s voice was normal. As long as Josh was fine, he could bring Josh back today.
“I can’t bother you with such a small case. And my phone was taken, so I couldn’t call you.” Josh explained.
“Well. Call me first if anything happens to you in the future. We talk this later, and I’m going to bring you back first.” Chase said.
Then Chase turned back to find the inspector. The office’s door was opened, and then a red-faced man walked out with a black teacup in his hand, mindless and not totally awake.
He seemed to be drunk, judged from his red face. He saw Chase and then shouted. “What are you doing here?”
Chase peered at the man. The light blue police uniform was slack and careless, with no shoulder mark on it, and a pair of black leather shoes were so dirty.
Perhaps because of being woken up from a drunk sleep, the man glared at Chase and others. It seemed that if Chase couldn’t give an appropriate excuse, he would definitely arrest them right now.
