Chase sent Cassie to school the next morning and went to the mall.
Chase got the ownership of the mall from the Hu family and renamed it. He changed the billboard at the entrance but didn’t redecorate inside.
Chase designated Larry as the manager to test his abilities.
Larry was a trust-funded kid before his family broke up, and Chase thought Larry’s attitudes should have changed a lot.
Chase walked into the mall, and not many staff noticed him. He walked around and saw Larry, who watched the business carefully. If some staff couldn’t handle it, Larry would go to help them. He also communicated with them.
Larry saw Chase and stepped forward to greet, “Chase, hi.”
Other clerks also greeted Chase, “Hi, Chase.”
Chase greeted them and turned to Larry and asked, “How are you recently, can you handle this?”
Larry smiled and replied, “I’m ok. I had talked with all staff. It goes well. I worry if I didn’t do a good job, you wouldn’t make money.”
Chase nodded and said, “What you should do is to manage staff. You can hire a helper who is expertise in marketing and planning. Roll out some activities, and things will get better.”
Chase hired Larry to manage the mall but didn’t know if he was capable of this.
The idea was to help Larry.
Larry said awkwardly, “Then you have to pay another high salary.”
Chase shook his head and explained, “Don’t worry. We will earn more.”
Larry thought for a little while and said, “Let’s me do it first. If I fail, I will hire a planner.”
Larry appreciated that Chase wanted to help him but also wanted to make some achievements by himself.
Chase saw Larry’s serious face and told him, “Ok, then go ahead. Success would be the best, but if it fails, don’t be stressed. Let me tell you the truth, this mall won’t help me a lot in making money. But if you run it well, I promise it would be the biggest retailer in Jol City, even across the country.”
Larry’s eyes lit up and asked, “You mean, you will open the chain stores?”
Since Larry’s family broke up, he had become a beggar. But he dreamed of being a big player in Jol City like his father one day.
If he became the retail king in Jol City, he would take revenge.
Chase nodded and continued, “Yeah, I would do it as long as this mall had a promising future.”
Chase had connections and money to open chain stores, and what he most needed was a capable man.
At this moment, there was a noise from the entrance of the mall. Chase frowned and walked there.
At the entrance, a group of people was arguing something with the clerks.
Chase just watched and didn’t say anything, waiting for Larry to deal with it.
Larry stepped forward and asked, “What happened?”
A female clerk answered, “Manager, they are making trouble with us.”
“What do you mean? Your products are underqualified. We want an explanation,” a woman shouted.
“I bought an induction cooker yesterday, which broke down after I cooked one dish last night. I didn’t expect it would work for 2 or 3 years, but it even couldn’t work for a year and a half,” another woman added.
“The same thing happened to me. I bought an induction cooker whose switch flipped automatically before the rice was ready. I want to return it,” a woman who put the induction cooker on the clerk table said sternly.
People in the mall rubbernecked the three women who held an induction cooker, an electronic cooker, and a teakettle.
It was suspicious that all three bought yesterday broke down. Still, the crowd was more likely to believe that the products were underqualified.
“You sold underqualified products. You are cheating.”
“I remembered the former boss go bankrupt because of underqualified products which angered costumers who complained. The new boss still sold these products.”
“I will never come here. I would rather walker further to buy products in good quality.”
Some young man stirred people’s anger and mentioned the Hu family. Chase narrowed his eyes.
He knew there was a conspiracy and was sure that at least half of the people surrounded didn’t come to buy products.
But Chase didn’t know who was behind this?
The Hu family didn’t dare to make trouble with Chase.
The person who was behind must know how Chase got the mall’s ownership from the Hu family.
The clerk said to the three women, “I’m sorry. If you want to make a return, we can give you a free replacement instead.”
A woman added, “Can you promise that a new one would be a good one?”
The cashier was speechless.
The cashier wasn’t sure whether these induction cookers have a quality problem.
“Everyone, please be quiet. I’m the manager of the mall. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and trouble we brought you. We will give you a return and a one-hundred-yuan voucher. You can buy something in the mall within this week, and this voucher can be used as one hundred yuan in cash,” Larry explained.
The three women were satisfied after hearing what Larry said.
