-Yes, I’ll be right there.
The butler replied and set out to go to the kitchen to get the soup. At first, he wondered how to get the lady to drink the soup, but now that Leopold was there, it was not difficult.
Seeing that the housekeeper was going to serve the soup, Leopoldo’s eyes unconsciously penetrated in the direction of the bedroom. This time, she seemed to be really angry.
-Bang bang.
Mariana was lying on the bed and immediately changed her position to lie on her side after hearing the knocking on the door, falling asleep. Her eyes were closed and she had no intention of answering.
Leopoldo knocked very softly on the door and opened it after several unanswered knocks.
When he opened the door, he realized that Mariana had really fallen asleep. But he knew she was almost awake.
-Mariana, eat something.
Leopoldo carried the soup to the bed, remembering the woman. But Mariana was indifferent, unwilling to pay attention to the visitor.
She looked at the woman and kept silent for a few seconds.
-Are you still angry? -Leopoldo took the initiative to speak.
Mariana said nothing and turned her back to him. She was not angry, but it was hard for her to accept it. Originally, Leopoldo had a very perfect image in her heart, but it all fell apart in an instant.
She couldn’t accept it and she was upset.
-I’m not angry,” Mariana spoke softly and indifferently.
When Leopoldo saw the woman’s attitude, he took care to approach her and said:
-I did nothing wrong in dealing with Rafael’s affair.
Leopoldo was firm and showed no remorse.
Hearing these words, Mariana’s heart froze faintly.
If it’s all right, it’s all right. What else did she care.
Leopoldo was reasoning with her now, but she didn’t need to listen to any reasoning. He had a good idea of how things were. He had his own way of thinking, and so did she.
-Rafael has done more bad things than you can imagine – Leopoldo said slowly, trying to tell the woman the truth.
Otherwise, Mariana will always misunderstand him, and he will not feel good.
Mariana was silent for a while before speaking.
-No matter how much evil he does, you shouldn’t have punished him.
Leopoldo’s solution was too arbitrary for a normal person to accept.
An ending like Rafael’s was something Mariana didn’t even dare to think about. Is it possible that one day, if he did something wrong, the result he would get would be exactly the same as Rafael’s?
-Mariana, what do you mean by that? -Leopoldo looked at the woman and asked rhetorically.
He was willing to explain it to her in the hope that she would understand.
But Leopoldo did not expect Mariana not only not to understand, but also to have such a deep misunderstanding of him. Seeing Mariana’s appearance, he was saying that he was not willing to convince himself with any reason.
-I’m tired and I want to sleep for a while.
Mariana was reluctant to continue talking and wanted to sleep.
It would be pointless to continue talking to Leopoldo.
At first, Leopoldo’s desire to explain himself was suppressed by Mariana’s indifference. He put the soup on the bed and, unable to say a word, left the room at once.
It was only when the door closed that Mariana pulled the comforter back up and sat down alone. She pulled her cell phone out from under the pillow, looked at the flight information at the top of the screen and froze.
While Mariana was still deep in thought, her phone received a message. Looking at the message, it was sent by Sofia. Mariana was silent for a while before abruptly typing a line:
-Decided?
-Yes.
-Before I go, I’ll see you off,” Mariana typed on the screen, and her heart rose and fell a little.
Sofia made the decision to divorce Rafael and return home alone with her parents. It had been many years since she had been home and it was time for her to see the two elders.
There were many things she did wrong when she was young and now she could make up for it.
-Well, I have the afternoon train, where will we meet? -Sofia asked Mariana, and her tone was filled with a bit of anticipation.
“I never thought I would eventually become good friends with Mariana.”
-Okay, I’ll reserve the place,” Mariana replied and then sent a location.
Sofia was leaving and she was to accompany her.
When she almost had all the information, Mariana got up and set out to find a suitable dress in her closet. She looked in the mirror and saw the little bundle.
The little life would be born in silence.
She chose a rather loose-fitting skirt with a matching vest over it. Since Mariana’s body was already slim, it wasn’t very obvious even when she looked like this.
For those not in the know, they wouldn’t have guessed that she was pregnant.
After painting her lipstick, Mariana prepared to walk out the door to her room. As she went out to get something to eat, Leopoldo didn’t have to control himself as much.
-Madam, where are you going?
As soon as the door opened, the butler opened his mouth and asked. A moment ago, Leopoldo had explained to him that he should keep a close eye on Mariana and inform her immediately of his location wherever he went.
The housekeeper did not know what was wrong with them, but it was a disturbing premonition.
-What’s wrong?
Mariana closed the door and pretended to ask the other party as if nothing was wrong. She had to inform the housekeeper at home even when she made a trip outside. Obviously, this was clearly Leopoldo’s idea.
The housekeeper was speechless, not knowing what to say to Mariana.
-I’m going out to meet a friend,” Mariana looked into the study and spoke deliberately.
Seeing this, the butler hurried to speak:
-I’ll have someone drive her.
-No need, I can do it alone.
Mariana didn’t like people following her, she felt that everyone who followed her was Leopoldo’s eyes and ears planted around her.
She didn’t like it, so she didn’t want it.
-Okay…
The butler was more or less disappointed to see that Mariana had refused.
His job was to serve Mariana well.
-I’m leaving first, I’ll be back at ten o’clock tonight,” Mariana looked at the housekeeper and said in a low voice. Telling the housekeeper could be the same as telling Leopoldo.
The butler nodded and said nothing more.
After going downstairs, Mariana got into the car she had called. It seemed abnormal to the driver, such a wealthy family would normally have their own chauffeur and special car.
Why would she call a car?
-Alonso, keep an eye on her.
Leopoldo stood in front of the upstairs window, watching Mariana’s departure, and immediately gave instructions to Alonso.
He could not easily lose sight of her.
Mariana was sitting in the car, originally fuming with thoughts about something. But she brushed the outside of the bodywork and noticed sharply that someone was following her from behind. Mariana was stunned and turned on her cell phone camera.
She took a picture of the car and enlarged it to see the person in the driver’s seat, who was none other than Alonso.
-I said I’m going out to eat, why are you still watching me?
Mariana looked at the man in the photo and became furious. Leopoldo did not believe her.
