The next day, the Angels woke up early in the morning to leave and after Kiara had made sure to make Harriet promise her that her mother would not know of her whereabouts, they left the fairies’ kingdom.
They arrived at the city by evening and Mark called for an emergency meeting with his brothers. They all came.
They knew that there must be news from the visit to the fairies’ kingdom. When all of them arrived, they met mark and Kiara already sitting in the meeting room and all of them went to take their seats. They took their respective seats and when they all sat down, the room went silent.
“So? What did the fairies say?” It was Jeff.
The suspense was killing them and they needed answers.
“They said Kiara is a werewolf…” Mark paused.
He wanted to hang them in the air. They looked at him curiously and he was enjoying the attention.
“They also said she is a fairy,” Mark said.
He looked through the faces of Jeff and Lian and they looked confused.
“So is she a hybrid?” It was Lian who asked.
“She is Louisa’s reincarnate,” Mark said.
The two of the men’s eyes widened with shock and they turned to look at each other and then at Kiara. It was all confusing, the woman was dead a long time ago, why did she have to come back? Were they supposed to be scared? Or were they supposed to not be scared?
“I don’t understand Mark,” Jeff spoke.
“She is a werewolf and a fairy. She has two personalities, one as Kiara and the other one as Louisa. Louisa will surface as soon as I mark Kiara.” Mark explained.
The other two nodded.
“Be ready brothers. She might be coming for revenge.” Mark said.
He was talking to all of them. They had to be careful. Kiara sat there silently, she did not like the fact that a fairy queen was in her or the fact that she was being referred to as a two personalities person. The meeting was dismissed and Mark walked Kiara to their room, they had not gone into the room since they got back and when they did, they took turns bathing and changing into other clothes.
Mark noticed how silent Kiara had gone after that revolution. She was sitting on the bed, looking through the window and watching the dark sky and bright stars. He stood up from the chair at the corner of the room where he was sitting and came to sit with her on the bed. He sat and he too stared at the dark sky and see the bright stars. He sat there with her for a while, in silence.
“Hey.” He called out.
“Hey.” She whispered.
He turned to look at her face.
“You have been awfully quiet.” He stated.
“I am fine.” She said.
The whole time, she did not turn to even glance at him.
“No, you are not.” He stated.
“I am just confused. What does she want with me?” She said.
She sighed deeply and he drew closer to her and took her face into his palms and made her look at him.
“Ssssshhh. It is me she wants, not you and I will do everything in my power to keep you safe.” He told her.
She did not speak. She turned again to the window.
“You want a better view?” He asked her.
She turned to him. She knew what he meant.
“Yes.” She responded.
He stood up and she did too. They walked out of the room and took the turns and descended the stairs and they were finally out of the house. She looked around, her eyes ogling at the beauty of nature.
She was mesmerized once again by the serene and beautiful environment. He went behind her and dropped his hands on her shoulder, massaging them. She closed her eyes, enjoying the relaxing sensation that the massage was given. He bent down to her ear.
“Are you ready?” He whispered into her ear.
She nodded and he swept her off her feet. She felt weightless in his arms as always and she felt peace in his arms, her haven from all of her burdens. With her in his arms then, she was a free bird, not bonded by her feet by her mother and thrown into misery. She closed her eyes and felt at home in his arms.
“Are you ready now?” He asked again.
She nodded again, with her eyes closed. She could imagine his big white wings spreading open and glowing. Without warning, he took off flying and she opened her eyes. She enjoyed the view of the city from above. She savoured the beauty of the city and he savoured her beauty.
She looked extremely beautiful and he could not take his eyes off her. He suspended in the air again, to enable her to enjoy the view steadily. He suspended in the air, flapping his wings slowly for a long time.
“Let us go back?” He asked her.
They had been in the air for over an hour. A long time.
“Yes.” She answered him.
She was not yet satisfied enjoying the view of the beautiful city, but she was tired and she knew he was too. With her affirmation, he flapped his wings aggressively and they started descending. He stood in front of the house and the door opened and he walked in, with her in his arms. She knew she was no longer in the sky and she could walk and he needed not to carry her but she could not come down. She could not come down from her safe haven.
He walked with her in his arms all the way to their room and he opened the door and went inside. He placed her gently on the bed and tucked her in. He went to the other side of the bed and laid down too. He kissed her forehead and whispered.
“Sleep tight.”
She did not respond and he spooned her in his arms. She was grateful for his actions and she closed her eyes and slept off.
