*** ALEXIA’S POV ***
She was extremely surprised to see the Lycan prince again. It had been quite a while since they met. The last time, she had gone to the Lycan clan to take her child. She wondered if he had a problem or needed help but she didn’t ask. She wanted the man to tell her what the problem was himself and when he didn’t talk, she asked him after dinner. She was curious. But the man didn’t say anything. He rose and left. Infuriated, Alexia returned to her room too. The nerve of him. Who was he to come to her territory and act that way to her? Oh she remembered, he was a Lycan and he could crush her if she dared him. She owed him enough already.

Back at the werewolf’s territory, Kiara had grown so much and was so strong. She was a werewolf and an Alpha. Alexia was still the ruler and the packs had developed so much in such a short period of time. She was doing extremely well at the job.
Alexia sent Kiara to the southern gammas for war training and Kiara was doing great. Her fighting skills were not yet top notch but she was the best and Alexia was proud. No one will be able to trample on her daughter, even if she was dead.
Alexia rose the next day and went to pick Kiara up from the gamma’s house. She wanted to introduce the girl to the man who saved her territory. The Lycan prince. She was going to rule after her anyway. She picked the girl up and they arrived home early for breakfast and met the man already having breakfast.
“Kiara, meet Lucian. The Lycan prince and heir to the Lycan clan. Lucian, meet Kiara. My daughter.”
Alexia spoke the moment she sat down. Lucian looked at the little girl and their eyes met, her silver-coloured like her mother’s. She smiled at him and started eating.
He smiled back and also continued his meal. They all ate in silence and Alexia left, she was a ruler of four packs and an extremely busy woman.
Lucian stayed in the werewolf’s territory for one week. Each day, Alexia would ask him what was wrong and if he had a problem and each day he will keep mute at the question. He wanted to enjoy her scent in peace. He wanted to do more than enjoy her scent, he wanted to hold her close to himself and play with her dark hair but he could not. She was his mate and it was hard for him keeping such a distance.
The day he left, he stole her hairpin. He wanted something that will remind him of her and her hairpin was perfect as it carried her scent on it too. He stuffed his nose with her scent as he ran into the woods.
He got his clan and his father was furious as to why he left the clan without his knowledge. He was told by his mother that Zendaya couldn’t stop crying, she thought he’d run away from her and it is only polite if he checks up on her.
He went to Zendaya’s room after his talk with his mother. Not that he cared for the vampire but he was hurting her feelings and he wanted to be a little bit thoughtful. When he opened the door, the vampire sat up and looked at him with teary eyes. He felt guilty. He sat on her bed and assured her that he wasn’t going to run away from her. He also made it clear to her that he didn’t love her. He was in love with another. His mate. Her eyes went wide with shock. She opened her mouth to say something but couldn’t not. She laid back on the bed quietly.
*** ZENDAYA’S POV ***
When she woke up the next morning from the feast, she quickly freshened up, rushed and went out of her room to Lucian’s room. She wanted to look at his handsomely sculptured face and bless her morning with his deep, seducing voice. But she met an empty bed and room. She didn’t think about it too much, her father always told her tales about running Lycans, they would run in the woods from night till dawn.
When she didn’t see him for a whole day, she called for Marcus to come. She had seen him at her wedding ceremony and she was told he was Lucian’s best friend. He came and she asked him if he knew where the Lycan prince was. He didn’t. But he assured her not to be alarmed. He does it all the time. But when he still didn’t come back after three days, she went crying to the Queen. The Queen had promised to look for him but a week went by without a sign of him.
When he finally came back and came to check up on her, she expected him to hug her and tell her he was sorry. But he didn’t. He sat on the bed and apologized coldly for leaving without her knowledge. He told her that he didn’t hate her and would not leave her but he was in love with another.
She was surprised at first but her mother had warned her. Her mother told her that Lycans had mates and when Lucian finds his mate, she will be completely forgotten. She didn’t expect it to be this soon. She wondered who was Lucian’s mate. She wondered if it was a Lycan like him or a werewolf or a witch. She was at a complete loss and she began to regret it. She was clouded by the love she felt for the man that she practically forced her marriage to him. She cried and could not sleep for the rest of the night.
*** MARCUS’ POV ***
When Marcus heard that Lucian was back, he rushed to the palace and met him. He enquired about where he went for a whole week. Lucian was already tired of answering that same question and having to lie but it was Marcus, he would never lie to him.
