*** MIKEL’S P. O. V ***
He left the Eastern territory immediately after he noticed her absence. He ran to the southern territory but she wasn’t there either. The Betas told him that she had sent a message about her whereabouts. She was in the northern territory. He wasted no time and left for the northern territory. He was still in the woods in the northern territory when he saw her. She was running again. He began to wonder if she ever felt tired of running. He ran to her and when they met, he now knew why she was running. She was angry and her silver eyes glowed in the dark, just like his eyes do when he’s angry. He didn’t know how to calm her. When she asked him what he wanted this time, he could only think of one thing. A run. If running helped her calm down then he would love to do it with her. And he told her. He wanted to run with her.
Her white face looked puzzled when he said it. She completely didn’t expect him to say that. She walked past him and he thought she was leaving. It didn’t matter, he will follow her either way. But she spoke behind him.
“Run!” And she took off. He followed. They ran in circles and didn’t stop till dawn. She looked happy and he was happy he could make her happy. When they transformed, she was wearing a black flowing dress. He noticed that she was smiling at him for the first time. Butterflies filled his tummy. And he smiled at her too. She invited him to her house but he declined. He was an Alpha now and needed to be in his territory. He had a lot to do. He transformed and left her standing there.

They were running in circles in the woods. She was feeling the wind on her face and she loved it. He was lagging behind as usual and she was ahead of him like always. It was a new feeling and sensation and for the first time in a long time, she felt happy. Genuinely happy.
She was caught off guard. She was crushed on the hard ground and suffered bruises. He had caught up with her and pounced on her from behind, scratching, kicking and biting her. His fangs buried deep into her flesh. She howled loudly and thrashed vigorously under him. But he was stronger. He held her there and sucked the life out of her.

She woke up in her room and the room was dark. She was sweating and panting heavily. She rose from the bed and went over to the window and opened them wide. The wind rushed in and hit her face, drying her sweat and cooling her up. It was dark outside. She’d slept from dawn till night. She looked outside and the pack was quiet. Everyone in their home. She wondered why she was beginning to have nightmares of him killing her. Did he want to kill her? Surely a man who could kill his brother can kill a stranger with ease.
She had to do something about him. Anything. As long as he wasn’t there anymore, she was fine. She couldn’t sleep anymore as usual and rose early the next day and leapt into the woods. She was headed to the southern territory. She got there after two days.
The was chaos in the territory when she arrived. A witch was caught in the woods. Unbelievable. A witch, in the territory of werewolves, was unheard of. It had never happened before. The witches’ territory was far off from the werewolves’ territory and the witches were not wandering creatures. The witch was caught and thrown in the dungeon immediately. Alexia ordered for the witch to be brought before her immediately.
She was standing in the hallway and she heard footsteps behind her. The gammas were bringing the witch. When the footsteps finally stopped. She turned around. She saw the witch. Her first time seeing a witch and she was disappointed. She didn’t appear like the witches she has heard of in moonlight stories from her mother. Her mother’s moonlight stories witches were ugly, had a really long chin and a pair of bonny cheeks. Their eyes were dark and deep into their skull. Their nails, No, they had claws. Their claws are long and sharp. But this witch before her was nothing of sort. A beautiful girl in a dirty black dress. Her eyes were black and beautiful. Her perfectly shaped pink lips trembled in fear.
Alexia walked over to her and ordered her to look at her. She did and Alexia asked her name.
“Esmeralda.” Her voice was soft. She would sing perfectly well. Alexia asked her how she got to the werewolf’s territory. She was not supposed to be there and she knew it. The girl went to her knees and hung her head down. She started sobbing.
“Be merciful to me oh Queen.” Her voice was shaky and Alexia could see she was afraid.

Her legs ached from all the running and walking. She had come to a great distance and she was glad. She was finally far from her territory. Far from the pain, the hurt, and the grief. She stopped when she saw a little stream in the woods. She was thirsty, hungry and tired. The little stream will be of great help, she would wash her feet and face, drink from it and rest.
She hurried to the stream and dipped her mouth into it, sucking the water into her mouth and the cool sensation rushing down her throat. She was still enjoying the cool water when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around swiftly and her eyes went round in shock. Wolves. Big block wolves. It was her first time seeing wolves and her heart sank into her stomach. This was the end of her.
