Kal is agile to listen to me as he lunges towards his father banging his fists against his muscled belly one strike after another. He does not rest, as he throws punch after punch relentlessly.
Deimos’s eyes widen in awe of his male. “That’s it. Faster. Firmer. Make papa submit.” He roars with an enthusiastic ferocity adding ammunition to his male’s shots.
“Bad papa!” Kal works to yell like his father as the three-year-old repeatedly attacks Deimos whose laughter echoes throughout the void warehouse’s walls. He stoops to pick Kal up by his waist and swirl him around expressing his pleasure.
I hasten run towards my males as Deimos unfolds his arm wide for me to snuggle into. He kisses the top of Kal’s and my head affectionately as we three cuddle against one another my mate’s arms safely wrapped around us.
“See, I told you Lumina. Our male is to not be underestimated.” He chuckles.
I lift Kal’s feet scanning through his knees that bled. “Are you all right, my male? Are you in pain?” I inquire softly my lips wobbling remembering the different ways he slumped to the ground.
“He is fine, my female. A little warrior he truly is. Who wants ice cream?” Deimos queries gleefully emeralds wide and beaming with happiness.
“Me! Me! Me!” Kal boosts his tiny fist into the air bouncing within his father’s arms with his elation tranquillizing my inner war, composing a peaceful smile to descend upon my face. Our male shall be a bringer of doom.
Whilst we trekked back to the house, Deimos couldn’t retain his overwhelming spirit within him. He spoke and laughed on how Kal was better than he was and on how he knew his male wouldn’t disappoint him.
He wished to celebrate his first day of pup training, he wanted to let our pack know of Kal’s durability but I advised him to shield it from our wolves. I do not wish for anyone to think anything of my male, I want his training to be kept a mystery.
I know what happens when news of his superiorness spreads like wildfire, females will be troubled to let their pups play with Kal terrified that he would hurt them or endanger them. I never want my male to feel secluded or left out from the group, I undeniably remember how that feels for I had undergone this brutality.
Kal is special. We know that, but his uniqueness is a gift from the moon, not one we must boast of but one we must defend and guard as a family. My mate concurred with me not wanting to go against my wishes as I reasoned with him.
“That is enough, Kal!” I yell wiping down the counter of the kitchen offering him a flash of teeth in condemnation of his adamancy, a warning I give him.
“Please, mama. Please!” He begs doe eyes pausing for me to meet them so he can cage me under his spell.
“I said, no. You cannot have the other half of the cone; you have consumed enough.”
“B-But papa said I could have the hole one.” He pleads with low whines whilst banging his palms upon the granite attempting to gather back my attention that is purposely taken away from him.
“Go brush your teeth, Kal,” I instruct the mischievous pup whilst fastening my hair up in a bun to keep it from sheltering my face. Silence consumes us and I sigh with relief happy that stillness has finally come through. My head throbs with a ferocity to his constant screaming, I need rest.
Presuming that the stubborn one has finally departed I swiftly turn around to conclude my purge only to encounter a surprised Kal, his greens widened and mouth jammed with ice cream as he gawks at me like a deer caught in headlights.
“Kal!” I roar with a vengeance as he squeals and flees from my wrath whilst I charge at him like an angered bull with horns.
“Papa! Papa!” He screeches sprinting to the arms of his father that he knows shall defend him.
“What is it? What have you done now, Kal?” A freshly showered Deimos picks up his emerging male and lays him upon his hip. Kal nuzzles his face into his father’s neck binding his eyes shut as feigning his innocence.
“Your male is utterly rebellious and naughty to the core.” I heave breathlessly seeking to calm myself as I fight to control my breathing.
Deimos chuckles at our conflict as he swings the pouting pup. “What did he do?”
“I told him he cannot have the other half of his cone for he has had enough today. But as I took my eyes off him for a few seconds he gobbled it up like the thief he is! You must punish him.” I complain planting my hands upon my hips narrowing my eyes at the male who refuses to show me his face sinking under the wing of his father.
“Come on, my female. Look at this face, how can I punish him?” Deimos inquires softly clutching his male’s jaw directing his face towards me so I can get a sound look.
“Why must I always be the evil parent, why cannot you be the strict one for one second?”
“I was when I trained him, Lumina. And look at these innocent eyes. Kal, you didn’t eat the other half did you?” Deimos laughs at the situation finding it to be intolerably humorous whilst he slaughters the evidence wiping Kal’s cheeks and the corners of his mouth that are coated with chocolate.
“No papa, mama ate it.”
I scoff at the blatant lies of the little one but under these circumstances I know we shall let this slide for he is merely playing. Kal never truly lies. Never.
“All right, off to bed with you now.” My moon blessed launches his male playfully into the air only to seize him halfway whilst Kal squeals in delight to the butterflies that erupt within his belly. It is his favourite pass time.
“Papa. Bedtime stowy.” Kal whispers as his father carries him into our room to relax on our bed.
“Yes, Alpha Kal.” Deimos comically bows his head as though he respects his male’s words and shall abide by them faithfully as his male giggles hysterically.
“Which one shall I read to you? How about the wolf and the seven lambs?”
“Yes!”
“All right.” Deimos agrees whilst leaning his back upon the plush pillows and stretching out his legs over the mattress with Kal nestled by his side. He unlocks the bed table drawer to take out the very first book stored there on purpose.
Kal’s favourite is the wolf and the seven lambs and his father reads to him despite his male demanding it of him almost every night. Yet Deimos never tires of it for it is their time together and he adores reading for him and acting as though he were the evil beast and his male was the naive lamb.
He would pretend he was feeding on Kal’s fists as he acts out the story and our male would do nothing but peer up at his father in awe.
“Once there lived a goat along with her seven lambs near a forest. She adored them very much. One day whilst she was heading…” The voice of my mate tunes out and everything around me fades to bring forth my two males into a cloudy haziness.
Leaning upon the doorframe, I silently beam at their interaction. I always cherish watching them spend time together, perhaps two years have hastily passed us but it always feels anew to me. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine for my mate to be this kind of a father to my pup.
But everything about him came as a wonderment to me. He fetched the stars I wholeheartedly desired without hesitance and laid them at my feet. He claimed the world was mine and Kal’s equally. Deimos gives his all when it comes to dealing with his male, he never converses of being worthy with him for he believes our male already is. Worthy in every way and there shall be no need for him to prove it to us as he matures into a juvenile.
Kal’s seat is waiting and sealed meant only for him. It shall be passed on without hesitance from either of us. He can claim it when he is ready and today’s training confirmed to me he shall acquire it earlier on in his life than most juveniles and I cannot wait for that day.
With each passing month, I seem to discover how truly bonded we are as a family. As though nothing in this world or universe could separate us. We are one.
“Why are you standing here for so long, Lumina?” His soft voice questions me, bright emeralds sinking deep to become one with my soul as he holds the sides of my waist hauling me to his heat.
I gasp as I am drawn out from my inward thoughts to find Deimos standing in front of me remaining still for my answer. “It is not that long. You know how briskly he sleeps when you read to him.” I snicker glimpsing at the male held by deep slumber nestled within the crib’s softness.
“How are you holding? Do your feet hurt? Are they swollen? Would you like me to massage them? Are you not tired, my female?” His boundless concerned questions bring forth a lukewarm affection within my heart. He is always worried for me, always setting me first. Selfless male.
“I am not tired, Deimos.” I grin at him as he nods sleepily to me with acknowledgement, orbs swamping in weariness.
Emeralds peek down to greet my swelled belly as he kneels to the floor to anchor his ear upon my flesh. “And what about you, little one. Are you not tired?”
