Deimos, My Salvation – Part I

Book:DEIMOS (Alpha of Alphas) Published:2024-6-2

“Have you thought about where you wish to hold his birthday party?” I inquire as Deimos shakes the rattle violently to win back his male’s attention who seems to be preoccupied with other playthings.
“The garden at the back of the castle,” He responds his eyes playfully narrowing at the little one who is more interested in playing alone than with his father.
“The garden? What garden?” I ask as confusion strikes. There is no garden on our lands, how come I was never aware of its existence?
“The castle possesses a garden at the back, Lumina.” He replies shooting a calm glance of acknowledgement towards me.
“Six years, and now you tell me Deimos. Wait, does it lie past the locked gate?”
“Yes.” He sighs deeply, filled with his upsetness that his male refuses to keep him company.
“I thought it was merely unused land.”
“I had locked it a few years after my parents passed away. It was the heart of the castle. Cronus and Theia would often spend their visits here at the garden as well. It brought memories I was unable to handle.” He states whilst tickling our male’s feet striving to get him to play. Kal merely kicks away his father’s hand continuing to eagerly observe the dancing toy that leaps in front of his wide inquisitive orbs.
“Deimos.” I beckon him soothingly offering him my comfort. I know of his past, I know everything. It must have surely been hard on him.
“But why the garden?”
“So the heart of ‘our’ home can beat again.” He whispers to me tenderly, emeralds a vivid green he offers me a delicate smile of contentedness.
I moved back to the castle last month with Kal, it felt as though a tremendous weight had been elevated off my shoulders as though my soul could breathe again. I had slept peacefully the first night with both my males cuddled to each of my sides each demanding the warmth of my flesh. Kal did not wake up in the middle of the night for the very first time. We were home.
Deimos said the house I built would be for our personal use, he said if I ever needed space from him this place shall be my haven one that he would not enter unless he was welcomed by me. Over the past few weeks, we have family meals and spend time here together.
“I wish to see the garden.”
“Our wolves have been polishing and decorating the area up for tomorrow’s celebration for the past few weeks, I wanted it to be a surprise.” He declares whilst folding his hands across his chest observing Kal’s antics. He is not impressed by his male’s blatant ignoring. “After the celebration, you can enhance it however you wish. You love roses do you not, I bought a few boxes of rose seeds for you. Tell me whatever you wish I shall obtain it for you.”
“Thank you, my male,” I whisper my heart full of love for him. He is so thoughtful often doing things he knows I would adore and so would his male.
“What do I tell you, Lumina?” He turns to me with a tilt of his head urging me to say the words he often says to me.
“Anything and everything is mine.”
He beams in acknowledgement for he frequently states there is nothing in this world that he would not be able to provide me and Kal with. Deimos peeks up at the clock upon the kitchen wall and gazes down at his male whilst removing the dancing toy that possesses so much of Kal’s attention.
“Shall we begin your training, Kal?” He asks him whilst picking him up, setting him upon his hip. Our male merely gives us a display of his budding teeth, a wide grin he offers his father in excitement.
I immediately take notice of the change in the situation and crawl towards the opposite side of the room kneeling waiting for them to begin. Deimos stands to set the little one free planting his miniature feet on the floor. Calloused hands clutch onto tiny fists, Deimos pauses until Kal settles and gains his balance.
“Ready Lumina?”
“Ready.” I offer him a curt nod of enthusiasm, laying my palms upon the ground I wait.
“Ready Kal?” Deimos questions his male as our male babbles audibly bouncing on his feet with anticipation revealing his eagerness.
“Come here, come to mama.” I coo playfully banging my palms upon the floor. The sound of it and the vibrations that evoke the little one from beneath brings him to me for curiosity finds its seat deep within him. This way he grasps the way to walk on his own.
We train him this way every day and he has almost succeeded in mastering it, quite faster and better than pups his age. Deimos guides him gradually for the first few steps and when Kal has walked half the path he lets the pup go leaving him to fend by himself.
Kal stands in the middle as always turning back and forth debating whether to go to his father or come to me. Yet he always does come to me for his father laid down his path and I am the last destination.
He takes stumbled shaky steps toddling, whilst keeping his legs wide apart. He hesitates between each step, jerking from side to side as he moves one foot forward, then the next.
“Yes, good male. Come here.” I urge him clapping my hands with the happiness of his development.
Slow steps he takes only to falter and lose balance. He falls hard the fluffy carpet catching him by his bum. A sharp intake of breath is taken in by me and by instinct my body rises to hold and comfort him.
“Lumina,” Deimos calls my name in a calm tone halting my steps. His eyes linger on his male who does not cry but merely sits on the carpet trying to register that he has fallen.
This is part of Kal’s training, we do not help him when he falls rather he is forced to support himself. We merely guard his antics and Deimos analyzes Kal’s improvement to accordingly tailor his training.
Kal arises carrying his weight on his palms and feet, his lips wobble to the upsetness of his fall yet he does not wail. He holds it in with stubbornness peering up at me with tears that well in his orbs.
“Mama.” He calls arms open wide towards me summoning me to carry him. He seeks solace.
“Come here, my male. It is all right, you are okay.” I beckon him my voice soothing to his ears. I urge him to carry on forward, and he does so paying heed to my loving words.
He takes wavering steps forward this time more focused, greens not leaving the ground. He makes his path to me whilst I open my arms for him as he nears my heat. Deimos regards his male with pride, chest puffed spine straight. Kal has begun to walk exceptionally well.
