Today’s world is different, when we hurt each other instead of talking it out and healing ourselves we completely ignore the other for nothing else but just to gain their attention. Just for them to look at you, hoping that at night they would lay awake on their beds, thoughts of you consuming them, that at least somehow you could be with them, even though it’s just in their thoughts. This is the relationship Deimos and I possess right now.
I haven’t seen nor spoken to Deimos since our last argument. My body and mind tired, my hope fragile and my soul tearing. If he speaks or does anything hurtful I will definitely break. And even thinking about it makes me gag. I fought through everything for nothing. What I thought would be my strength turned out to be my biggest weakness and downfall. To what I thought would be my prize for my rein turned out to be my hindrance.
On the other hand, Cronus and I grow closer day by day. Everything of us coming to light between us. His secrets pouring out of him to me slowly, letting me indulge in them. He sparks happiness within me the moment I see him, his ever so bubbly nature enticing me pulling me in. He never fails to make me laugh with his persistent trial of making good jokes and always takes me away from this place, away from him.
Laughter erupts from the females around breaking me free from my thoughts. Frowning I look around to figure out what they seem to find hilarious and my eyes widen when I catch sight of Cronus dripping wet running after Elriam trying to catch her.
“What is going on?” I ask my females.
“Cronus was drinking some water from the lake, Beta kicked him from the back making him fall face-first into the water.” One on the female answers me chuckling as I begin chuckling with her watching the hilarious scene in front of me. But all our giggles stop to a pin drop silence when Cronus strips himself off his shirt giving us a perfect view of his sculpted upper body replacing our chuckles with open drooling mouths.
I look away as our eyes meet while he seemed to be getting excited as he neared us. The females seem to understand something is between us but cannot seem to get a hint of what it is. Kneeling to my side with a pout he begins to complain like a pup.
“You need to banish your beta, Luna. She kicked your precious Cronus into the water.” He tells me with fake sad eyes while narrowing them at Eriam. Slowly sipping my hot coffee I look at him.
“And why must I do that Cronus? Elriam is quite precious to me as well.” I question him.
“This is unfair, Luna. You like her more than me.” His pout growing he tells me.
“Behave, Cronus. I’ll give you candy if you do so. Be a good pup.” A smile comes across my face as I tease him while his cheeks grow red as the females laugh at my comment. Our lazy happy afternoon Is interrupted by Ragon. Why does this always happen? Why does Deimos always make him interrupt us?
“Luna.” He bows down greeting me.
“Ragon.” I nod to him returning his greeting. He deserves my acknowledgement, he is a good male.
“You are late for the training. All of you must leave for the training grounds. Alpha’s orders.” Ragon informs us. That male Deimos, can he not give me a break? Does he want to face my wrath? My wolf and I are unstable we will tear flesh if we feel something or someone is unworthy.
“I think it’s safer for me to remain here, Ragon,” I tell him looking straight into his eyes, he understands my indirect threat. Closing his eyes the male makes contact with someone, probably Deimos. As the tension seems to increase between us, Cronus interrupts trying to dissolve it.
“Alright alright, guess what Luna if we go I can teach you archery.” He tells me sparking curiosity within me. He smiles knowing he won. He knows now I will definitely go making me wonder if I showed this male too much of me that he can quite easily predict me.
Going to the ground, my hands shake showing my nervousness. I will have to see Deimos, I am not ready here. Holding my shaking fist in his warm hands Cronus whispers soothingly to me. “I am here Luna, trust me it’ll be fun.”
As we reach the grounds I keep my head down walking in Cronus’s shadow like an afraid pup. But he seems to shield me and so I hide. I hide until I hear Deimos’s loud voice booming through the grounds.
“Get into teams of two now!” He seems exceptionally angry today. Avoiding any sort of contact with him I form up behind Cronus getting ready to spar.
“You think you can beat me, Luna?” He questions me with a sly smile erupting a snicker from within me.
“Do you not know what I am capable of, pup?” I question him smirking getting excited to fight with this male, my wolf agreeing. As we get into positions to spar a memory flows through my mind. A memory where Deimos and I sparred. It’s a fond memory of mine and this forces me to look at him.
I watch him my ears tuning out what Cronus is saying, my eyes staring at Deimos’s flesh. Looking at him after so long shows me of my hunger for him. The way his eyes constantly move from one team to another, the way his mouth opens to shout at wolves sparring wrong, the way his hands move to show them the correct position, the way drops of sweat roll down his body reacting to the scorching hot sun, the way-
“Luna!?” Cronus breaks me off from my hungry eyes and thoughts. “What are you thinking about? Let’s spar!” He tells me and so we begin. Our personal game of who throws the other to the floor. Cronus is really good at dodging me easily predicting some of my moves before they come. But before I could form upon a plan to attack him he puts his foot in front of mine making my eyes widen as I fall to the ground with him on top of me.
With wide eyes and heaving chests, we look at each other our faces really close, Cronus’s hands at each of my side holding his weight. We just look at each other without saying a word. Cronus’s eyes moving from my eyes to my lips making my eyes widen further. What is this male thinki-
“Enough! What the fuck are you both doing?” Loud rumble tears through Deimos’s chest as he screams at us making us get up at once, making me hide behind Cronus. My eyes widen as I take notice of what I did, why did I hide behind Cronus? Oh god, if Deimos saw that-
“Why did you hide behind him mate?” Deimos questions me in his calm voice trying to reign in his anger. Dammit, he did see it.
“Deimos, we were just sparring calm down.” Cronus tries to kill the tension.
“That was my mate you were on top of.” Deimos begins to walk towards us in heavy strides but halts midway to Cronus’s question.
“So now she’s your mate?” Cronus asks him putting a hand in front of me sort of shielding me from Deimos making Deimos look at me as I look away. His anger growing, what does he expect me to say. Cronus is right, isn’t he?
“This is between us, you dare interfere?” Deimos’s loud voice makes all wolves stop and watch.
“Perhaps it is, but as you can see Luna is closer to me right now,” Cronus speaks in a sickly sweet tone.
“Cronus! She is mi-” Deimos begins but is cut off by a small voice.
“Alpha, can you please help me with my moves.” A little pup interrupts our conversation. Deimos looking from me to Cronus and back to me walks away fuming his chest heaving.
“Come, Luna. I shall teach you to shoot arrows.” Cronus says as he leads me to the shooting range. I feel the heat of Deimos’s gaze upon me yet I make no move to look at him. I don’t want to give him that satisfaction.
As time passes by Cronus tries his hardest to help me learn and though I am quite a fast learner I cannot seem to get a hang of it until Cronus smiles with a huff walking up behind me. Holding the arrow in front of me pressing his front to my back he whispers into my ears.
“Okay, now I want you to calm your breathing and focus the pupil of your eye on the circle, don’t think don’t focus on anything else than that circle. Think that the circle is running from you and you want it so bad but you need to catch it. When the feeling of desperation overcomes you, shoot.” Cronus tries to make it easier for me.
Closing my eyes taking a deep breath in I picture Deimos in my mind, I need to grab him he’s running I need to find him and catch him. I need to lock him up. Opening my eyes I pull back the bow and shoot, the arrow flying past and hitting the middle of the circle making me jump into Cronus’s arms.
“I did it. Did you see it Cronus?” I ask him my eyes wide with excitement but before he can answer me I feel myself being pulled harshly from Cronus’s arms and dragged away from the grounds. I am too surprised to resist Deimos’s hold as I follow him blindly.
Stopping in front of the lake he turns around with narrowed eyes. “What is wrong with you Deimos, why are you acting this way?” My wrists sore from his strong grip I question him.
“What the hell was that, mate?” His question holding accusations.
“What are you talking about?” I ask him not quite understanding.
“You know what I’m talking about, don’t pretend like you know nothing! Was that some sort of a little date? Did I interrupt your love session?” He keeps blabbering.
“Deimos I have no idea what you are talking about. If this is about Cronus I-” He cuts me off as I try to make this male understand.
“Wait have you let him fuck you, is that it? Has he tasted you already?” My eyes widen brimming with tears. Holding his shirt in the tight grip bring his face in front of mine I look deep into his eyes.
“Say those words again, I dare you.” My wolf shows her presence. He keeps quiet not wanting to damage this any further.
“You have no right to speak to me this way, no right! I have been nothing but faithful and true always waiting for you. But I have had enough! I will never let you speak to me like this, I am an Alpha and you will respect me as such!.” I scream it out to him hoping somehow it will get in his brain.
“You dare raise your voice at me, mate. You will face conseque-” His anger increases my fury. But I soften my voice to convey my message.
“This is what I am trying to tell you Deimos. You want to control me, keep me beneath you but you can’t. That is how I am and always will be. Do you want to know what happened to the wolves that did try to do so? I killed them, my wolf feasted on their flesh for days.” I show him a glimpse of my past. “You either rule by my side or- .” As I pause I can see the wariness in his eyes.
“Or you let me go.” As the words come out of my mouth so does my tears. I turn around to leave not wanting to look or speak to him anymore.
“Do you love him?” He asks me the same question I once asked him. Looking at his eyes I tell him the same thing he answered me.
“It has nothing to do with you,” I say as I walk away back to my females… back to Cronus.
As the day arrived I learnt that Deimos had left that night for a week to a neighbouring pack, for some business and he didn’t even bother to tell me so. It was quite helpful as I thought I could use that time to reflect on us. And that’s exactly what I did. I spent the entire week sitting among my females and exploring with Cronus. He is growing to become my strength in this time of need.
Thoughts of Deimos flooded my mind every night for the entire week however would all disappear when Cronus walked through my door every morning. Deimos was supposed to return by the weekend but as days increase he is yet to come.
Today morning, Cronus thought it’s a perfect day to go for a picnic by the lake. I had no idea what a picnic was until he explained it sparking excitement within me. And so here we are Cronus and I sitting upon the fresh green grass as we sip on our juice watching the sunset. We spent the entire day chasing each other and we sat down a while back to relax.
“What are you thinking about, Luna?” Cronus asks me gently.
“I am thinking if perhaps one day, my dreams will come true.” I close my eyes letting the breeze blow softly through my hair.
“And it will.” He tells me making my head snap to him. Moving his hand putting a strand of my hair behind my ear he whispers.
“I’ll make sure of it.” As he does so, I close my eyes secretly thanking the moon goddess for gifting him to me. Our peace is interrupted by a loud growl making both of us flinch and turn around. It’s a growl of an Alpha. I see Deimos in the distance snarling, his eyes black walking towards us in huge strides. His wolf showing his presence.
Coming to my side lifting me in one harsh tug by my elbow he snarls in my face, fangs out ready to bite. “Isn’t this quite the welcome, mate? I leave for a few days and you already find something else to play with?” He roars increasing his pressure on my elbows.
“Stop it! You are hurting me.” Tears brim my eyes it’s not because of the physical pain but the emotional one this male is causing.
“Let her go, Deimos,” Cronus says walking towards us trying to free me. With the other hand, Deimos catches hold of Cronus’s neck squeezing it making my eyes widen. No! Please don’t!
“I can snap this neck so easily right now and leave you to bleed to death, Cronus. But I won’t as you are my brother and we share a past. But come between my mate and I once more… I won’t think twice.” Deimos says calmly dropping him to the floor while lifting and dropping me on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
Constantly hitting his back with my fists or trying to kick him doesn’t seem to work in terms of him putting me down and he only does so when he drops me on his bed making my body bounce with the force. Not letting me escape, he traps me under him holding his weight above me with his elbows to my sides.
Bringing his face close to mine he whispers, “Aren’t you quite the naughty little mate?” He questions me creating a deep blush across my face. “When your mate returns from work what do you say?” He asks me. My heart is beating so fast, my mind blank I can’t think of anything but the male on top of me.
“I won’t repeat myself.” He shows me a hint of a threat.
“W-Welcome ba-ack.” I stutter trying to calm my beating heart. Moving closer to my face making my eyes widen he softly kisses my cheek. This is the first time, his lips have touched my skin.
“Good girl.” He whispers as my blush deepens. “When I left I constantly thought of you, of your words. And after pushing myself to find an answer, I finally managed to reach a conclusion.” He tells me.
“W-What?” My curiosity rising. Softly brushing his fingertips across my cheek he whispers to me,
“I don’t care if you think the moon goddess made a mistake. However, you are mine and shall be so until death do us part, my mate.”
