I walked behind him in the dungeon while looking around. He went to a cell at the end and pushed it open.
I quickly walked in and gasped loudly as the tears filled my eyes. Jason was lying on the bloody ground facing the roof. His naked half body was bruised badly and his chin and mouth were covered in dried blood as well as his nose.
“What did you do to him?” I asked in a whisper while I moved closer and knelt down beside him.
I was about to touch him when Cole growled loudly.
Jason slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times before looking at me.
“Emil.. ly.” He called huskily then coughed loudly. I quickly rubbed his chest ignoring Cole’s second growl.
A trail of blood rolled from the corner of his mouth.
“Cole, help him.” I whispered.
“Why should I?” He asked coldly.
I was about to answer him when Jason grabbed my hand and smiled softly.
“I have finally found you. I searc… hed for you everywhere.” He said softly then forced himself to sit upright. My hands were on his arm helping him to balance his posture.
“Stay away from him Emily.” Cole commanded.
I stood up and faced him furiously.
“What did you do to him!” I screamed on top of my voice.
“I suggest you stay away from him and turn a blind eye.” He answered coldly.
Why, why would he deceive me over being Jason?. What was he hoping to achieve!.
“How could you do such a thing to the man I love!” I spat then held my breath when a hard slap landed on my cheek.
Jason growled loudly then forced himself on his feet.
“I’ll kill you, Cole.” He spat furiously and fell to his knees then groaned in pain.
I quickly rushed to his side and held his hand.
Cole stood still without a word staring at us.
I was scared of the man in front of me. The Cole I knew was gentle with me, he could never raise his hand no matter what. The Cole I knew loved me so much and reasoned with everything I said. This man was different, in his eyes, I could see anger and a thirst for blood. He was aiming to kill.
“Tell her Jason.” He commanded furiously.
“I’ll kill you for laying your hands on her.” Jason yelled then coughed again.
“Jason don’t talk.” I whispered then glared at Cole.
“Why do you want to kill him!. What would you have possibly gained from deceiving me?” I screamed on top of my voice.
“Jason, tell her now or goddess help me. I’ll burn your whole pack down. kill everyone connected to her and put her in here with you. She will go through the same treatment as you are.” He said huskily as his eyes flashed red.
“Cole stop it, you have already hurt him enough!. Just let us go.” I yelled on top of my voice.
“I see, so you are still the very same coward as then. Cobi!” Cole called loudly.
I heard loud footsteps and a female voice that sounded like Beca struggling.
Cobi walked into the cell with Beca and pushed her to the ground. Her cheek had a bruise and her lip was slightly busted.
“Prepare our men. You will be leading them to this bastard’s pack. My orders are, “kill everything and everyone alive.” He spat.
“Right away alpha.” Cobi answered.
He was about to turn when I quickly moved in front of him.
“Cobi please don’t do this.” I pleaded.
“Luna please stay out of my way.” He warned coldly.
“Cole, please.” I whispered then walked to him and held his hand.
“The pack has a lot of innocent children, women and men. You can’t do this.” I begged.
“Jason, I’m giving you one last chance.” He said loudly.
I turned and went to Jason kneeling down beside him.
“Jason, is there something you need to tell me?” I asked softly.
He looked me in the eyes for a second then nodded.
“Cole …” He trailed off and swallowed hard.
“Cole is my identical twin brother.” He whispered.
“What?. But Alpha your twin brother died years back in the fire.” Beca said loudly.
“Cole… Cole.” He coughed blood and pressed his hand on his chest.
I quickly touched his cheek to help him relax as the tingles erupted.
Cole grabbed me by the hand and pulled me to my feet making me face him.
“Since you are seeing me as the bad guy Emily. I’ll tell you everything that your darling Jason did in the past.” He spat.
“Cole, please.” Jason whispered.
“As you can see and tell. Jason and I are indeed identical twin brothers, born from the same pack and parents. Years ago my brother and I were inseparable, we played together and always talked about our future. Then, we had an amazing relationship and our pack members looked forward to having two twin alphas one day take over the pack. But then the unthinkable happened, I was chosen to be alpha of the pack over my brother Jason, by our parents. The news shocked every pack member, but worse, it ruined my relationship with Jason.” He said as Jason forced himself up and leaned against the wall.
“Cole…”
“Shut up Jason!. She deserves to know the truth!” He spat furiously then took my hands in his.
“Day by day we grew apart. Despite all that, I dearly loved my brother. But little did I know that Jason had completely changed. He was filled with jealousy, anger, envy, and selfishness. One day he went out to make a deal with the rogues…”
“Cole I’m begging you brother.” Jason screamed then coughed badly.
“His deal was, “Help me kill my brother, and when I do take over as alpha, I’ll give you land and grant you a few other favors that you will request.” The rogues knew how they were multiplying in numbers and how land was scarce to find, and so they agreed to help him do the evil deed. What he didn’t expect was that it would all go wrong.” Cole said seriously.
“Cole, please stop!” Jason screamed then fell to the ground weakly.
I stood still with tears threatening to fall as Cole continued.
“The day the rogues ambushed our pack, our parents stood to defend us all. But they couldn’t stand a chance against so many rogues, they were killed and torn into pieces in minutes. I wanted to rush to their side, but I was stabbed by my very own twin brother. And to make sure I was dead, Jason burned down the pack house I was in and ran away. What he never expected was for me to survive the fire and crawl out of it. I had no strength to fight back, but I had enough strength to run. And so I did, but the rogues ran after me. That’s when I met Brandon and Landon. Those two helped and trained me into what I am today. I vowed to revenge my parents’ death and pay back this bastard twice as he did to them and our people. Jason deserves this and much worse because he is the bad guy here not me!” He said on top of his voice as tears rolled on my cheeks.
I slowly turned and faced Jason who was kneeling on the ground with tears filled in his eyes.
“Is everything Cole said true?” I asked in a whisper.
He kept quiet and shifted his gaze from me.
“Jason, I am asking you a question.” I said softly.
He looked into my eyes without a word.
“Is he telling the truth? Answer me!” I screamed on top of my voice.
“Yes!. Yes, he is okay!. I was young and stupid, I wasn’t thinking straight too. I was blinded by jealousy and envy.” He answered loudly then coughed badly.
I slowly lifted my hand and wiped off my tears.
“You and I are done!” I spat seriously then turned and faced Cole.
“That doesn’t make you any innocent. You knew how I felt about everyone and who I was in love with. Yet you took advantage of me and continued playing with my emotions. I don’t want to talk to you nor look at you Cole, because you make me sick.” I whispered then walked out ignoring Jason’s call and cries.
