I thought about it over and over again, but still, there was no answer. Maybe a man doesn’t need a reason to betray a woman.
Whatever his reason might be, I had got to figure out what shall I do next.
Second Brother called me at noon and said he and daddy were back to Yang City. He asked me to see them there if I had time and wanted me to invite Leon, because they want to thank Leon for using his fund to protect the stock price.
I was in a bad mood so it might do me some good to take a break, besides, I had not seen Second Brother for such a long time and I do miss him. So I said yes.
I was too tired to drive and I wanted to go there by train, but the tickets were sold out so I chose airplane instead.
About half an hour later, I arrived at Yang City, and a staff member from Second Brother’s office walked up to me and told me he was there to pick me up.
When we got to the parking lot, I found there was another man in the car. The staff member explained to me he was another guest of Second Brother’s.
I got suspicious. Second Brother would never let me share a car with a stranger, considering much he values me.
I took out my phone and was about to call Second Brother. Then the staff’s attitude changed. He tried to snatch my phone.
I began to run.
After running a few steps, I saw two men jumping off of a car in front of me and stopped me. Then something hit hard on the back of my head and I lost my consciousness.
When I regained my consciousness, I found I was surrounded by complete darkness, and I was in some kind of confined space. I felt dizzy, and it was like hell.
I took a deep breath to feel better.
There was noise and I felt like I was moving, which means I was in s sealed trunk of a van.
It was very stuffy and I wanted to throw up, but I controlled myself.
Luckily, the van stopped not long after, and when the trunk was opened, fresh air rushed in and I breathed heavily and I felt better. But I found my eyes, after being in the dark for such a long time, hard to open at first.
I was dragged out and thrown into a SUV after they have my eyes covered.
Soon I got dragged out again and someone removed my blindfold. I realized I was in a hotel and from the furniture I could tell it wasn’t a fancy hotel, but the room was indeed spacious.
The one sitting in front of me was none other than Xiaodong Su.
Actually I thought it might be him when I was driven here, but him just sitting in front of me and acknowledging his crime frankly were beyond my expectation.
That was not the first time I got abducted since I got involved in Leon’s business. But it was the first time I got to see the abductor sitting in front of me, without trying to hide his identity. Maybe it proved that he was truly fearless.
We stared at each other silently.
Then he took a few pictures of me and I guessed he was gonna send them to Second Brother.
When he was done, Xiaodong motioned to someone to loose me. Then he said, “Don’t you try to escape because my men are everywhere. They won’t hurt you. If you want to eat something, just tell them.”
“Thank you. I gotta say that you are truly an unique abductor for revealing your identity right away. So there is really no going back for you.” I said.
“Successful people need to have courage like this. I don’t need a way back, because I will not fail.
I nodded. “You are sure to succeed with your courage. But I wonder what is your purpose, and why am I involved in this?”
“Because Wenbei and my father are both fond of you and that makes you valuable to me.” Xiaodong said with great honesty.
“I’m not that important, and you are obviously overestimating my value, because my family name is Yao, not Su, and if you really want to threaten them, I think Susie might be a better choice because she is the daughter of Su Family.”
“I will not abduct my own little sister. I need to value my fame. So you are the better choice.”
I laughed bitterly and said, “What a boring topic. Now you have abducted me here and I’m still discussing with you whom you should have abducted,”
“This is not an abduction. I just brought you here and your daily life won’t be affected. You can do whatever you want in this room and we won’t give you a tough time”
“Can I ask what is your condition? You are not abducting me for money, right? You are rich enough.”
Xiaodong said, “It is for money, but for more money. You will know later, Now you can have a rest if you are tired.”
“One more thing, Xiaodong.”
Xiaodong stopped and said, “Why do you have so many questions? You will find out later.”
“No. This is very important to me. Will you kill me if Second Brother doesn’t accept your condition?”
Xiaodong turned around and looked at me, “Are you afraid of death?”
I nodded. “Yes I am. That’s why I wanna know whether I’m going to die.”
“I’m not sure. If I can’t reach my goal. We can die together. What do you think?”
“No! I don’t want to die. And you can not die, because as the oldest son of Su Family, you have a very bright future. You don’t need to do this.”
“As you mentioned earlier. There is no going back for me. So I have to die.” Xiaodong waved his head.
“I think its still not too late. Please, don’t kill me. I want to live. This is a dispute within your family, why do you have to drag me into this mess.”
“As you said this is a dispute, and absolutely there is gonna be a loser. And there is always a price to pay if you lose. Death is not as horrible as you imagined. Don’t worry too much about that.
“But I still want to see my son.”
“Then you should pray that Wenbei meet all my conditions, or you will have to die. By then I’ll show you how cruel they will be in front of interest.”
