“I don’t know,” he replied. Damn him. He was saying the truth!
“Then what do you know?” I menaced.
And then a searing pain shot through my side. Ah fuck. I gripped my side and realised that someone had impaled a knife.
I looked up to see Orlando.
“Why is he still conscious?” He snapped at Viktor, looking restless, “she said he would faint!”
Anger surged through me. These are the elders? Conniving to separate mates for some misplaced prophecy? Sacrificing multiple bonds and lives. There were the ‘jewels of our society’? Who wants such jewels?
“Let me guess,” I hissed as I pulled out the knife. It was definitely some magical knife. I felt like my insides were on fire. A normal knife doesn’t hurt this much. Or does a silver knife of a knife laced with wolfsbane. I knew. “Magic does not work on me.”
He took out another similar knife, ready to stab me unconscious again. Oh hell no. “You need to reje-” I slit his throat before he could finish his sentence.
I heard a distant scream but I was angry. I knew it was from Althea but Dimitri was handling her. And she was better off without him. I stalked over to Viktor and Max tossed him on the floor.
I stalked towards him as he backed away. “What do you know about Adrik?” I snarled.
There was pure fear on his face. What a coward. He wasn’t even trying to defend himself. He wasn’t even trying to fight me. “You will never be able to find him.” He said in his moment of bravery.
I snarled and walked closer before I grabbed his long hair and made himlook at me in the eye. “The only reason you are alive is because you are my mother’s father. But you aren’t worthy of her.” I hissed. “You gave her away to Adrik, knowing the kind of monster he was. You have no idea what kind of hell she has suffered in his hands,” I snarled in his face. My wolf was on the surface and he wanted his blood. I promised him, soon. “And then you tossed her away when she came to you for help. After that, you had the audacity to punish us for defending her honour and then threw us in a cell.”
He was looking at me with terrified eyes. “Help!” He screamed. “Help!”
“Guess what? I am the King of Air. And sound travels through air.” I smirked when understanding dawned in his eyes. “No sound will travel out of this room.”
Pure terror filled his eyes and a grin formed on my face. “Scream all you want. Goddess knows your daughter has because of you.”
“I had to do it! It wasn’t my fault! It needed to be done!”
“Is that what you tell yourself so that you can sleep at night?” I tossed him away, his head banged against the cold tiled floor.
His eyes grew hazy.
“That house was our own version of hell!” I screamed. If he hadn’t made Mom mate with Adrik, she would have had a much better life! And Goddess knows she deserved it. I didn’t care that I wouldn’t have been born. Mom didn’t deserve the kind of life she lived. She deserved to live a happy life. And now she is dead. And this man is the one who sent her to hell.
I grabbed his long hair and started pulling him out of the room, dragging his entire form with me.
Max had a grin on his face as he opened the doors for me.
Viktor screamed and thrashed but I didn’t loosen my hold. He clawed at my hand and drew blood, but I didn’t care.
The enforcers tried to attack us, to help Viktor but Max killed anybody who came near us.
“Help!” Viktor screamed as he clawed at my hand, “help me!”
I hissed at the burn as I dragged him out of the palace, dragging him on his ass as he tried to hold things here and there so I couldn’t be able to pull him. But his old body was no match for my raw power.
When we reached the main entrance, General Jonathan turned around and looked at us with wide eyes, “what did yo-” Max bit into his neck and tore his head before he could even finish his sentence. He licked his bloody lips, “I’ve always wanted to do that.” He grinned.
I smirked back as I pulled Viktor in a standing position and held his arm and Max held on to his other arm, holding him firmly in position.
“I know this wasn’t our plan, but it needs to be done. Do the honours.” Max said with a dark grin.
I brought my wolf forward as I looked at my army standing in front of me and the enforcers who had surrounded them who were looking at us and Viktor in shock.
I growled loudly.
And then chaos erupted.
Viktor watched in horror as my army started slaughtering his army. The enforcers tried to keep a brave face and defend themselves but they were no match for the wild Rogue army, the coordinated Montana army and the relentless Neos army. He thrashed in our hold as he watched his entire army being brutally murdered.
And when they were all dead and the ground was nothing but a bloody mess, I looked at him. His eyes were filled with tears and his face was full of agony. My favourite combination.
“The hell that you saw today was nothing compared to the one you sent your daughter to. I would ask you to give her my regards but I’m pretty sure heaven is not where you are headed.” I told him.
He began shaking his head, unable to form words.
“Since Adrik and you are partners, I will make sure that you remain partners in the afterlife too. Wait for him in hell, Viktor, he shall be joining you soon. I have made it my cause to chase him to the ends of Jivan and kill him.”
His eyes widened in horror as he watched me plunge my hand in his chest and rip his heart out.
‘Nikolai, Heath and I have found Adrik. We need to go to Russia right away.’ Mikhail mind-linked Dimitri, Max and I.
